The next morning, Chen Feng stuck to his running routine. After completing a lap along the riverbank by his old ho, he found Wu ngting and Guo ngyao already awake and having breakfast. They were enjoying the local specialty wontons, likely handmade by his mother.
Chen Feng didn’t greet them; he only showed his face briefly before heading to the back room to take a shower. His change of clothes was still there, and since both won were already up, there was nothing to avoid.
After his shower, he discovered his parents had already left for work, and the two won, having finished their breakfast, were waiting for him.
"When are you planning to leave?"
The first thing Chen Feng said sounded sowhat like a dismissal.
Whether it was Wu ngting or Guo ngyao, he wasn’t particularly fond of them at the mont, especially with them together. Furthermore, the fact that Wu ngting had even invited Guo ngyao to share a bed the previous night made Chen Feng suspect so kind of conspiracy.
So, it was best if they didn’t stick together.
The two won, of course, found Chen Feng’s words sowhat unpleasant to hear.
Guo ngyao directly retorted with dissatisfaction, "You want us to leave so soon?"
Chen Feng naturally replied, "You both have jobs, and the Mid-Autumn Festival is over. Shouldn’t you go back to work soon?"
Guo ngyao confidently declared, "I’m the boss. I decide when I work."
Wu ngting, on the other hand, smiled and said, "I’ve already taken three days off. Today is only the second day; I won’t go back until tomorrow afternoon."
"Suit yourselves then."
Chen Feng shrugged indifferently and went to have so wontons.
The two won exchanged a glance, and then Wu ngting asked Chen Feng, "How’s the jewelry store coming along? Do you need my help?"
"No need. I’ve already found a place; I’m just waiting for the brand representatives to co and approve it. Then we can start employee training and store renovation. It should be ready within a month or two."
"So, does that an you’ll be staying here for a while?"
"No need. I’ll return to Xiu Zhou in a few days."
"Then who will you leave the jewelry store preparations to? Your parents obviously can’t handle it."
Chen Feng looked up at Wu ngting and Guo ngyao and calmly said, "Soone’s helping . It’s a junior high school classmate of mine who used to run a jewelry store. It’s quite fitting for her to assist with my store’s preparations."
"Is it a man or a woman?" Wu ngting inquired naturally.
"A woman." Chen Feng continued eating his wontons calmly, "You also know her. It’s Yu Xiaohui, who used to be our neighbor. I’m currently in a relationship with her; ngyao knows about this. We even had a al together last ti."
Both won froze upon hearing this. After exchanging a quick glance, Guo ngyao awkwardly added, "That’s true. We t and had a al together. His junior high classmate seed pretty nice."
Wu ngting now realized that Chen Feng had seen through her prior knowledge and was clearly intentionally trying to provoke her with such remarks.
Although she felt a bit angry inside, considering his other won, his condition, and their agreent, she managed to keep her emotions in check.
"In that case, I’m relieved. I’m sure she can help you with this."
Wu ngting displayed the generosity and tolerance expected of her.
Her attitude made Chen Feng feel like he was a petulant child, which felt rather immature.
This feeling wasn’t pleasant, which was one reason he was currently reluctant to spend too much ti with Wu ngting.
Chen Feng kept his head down, engrossed in his wontons, and didn’t speak further.
The two won also remained silent, sitting and watching him eat.
This made Chen Feng feel a bit uneasy, but he quickly reminded himself that these two won had been physically close with him, so it wasn’t a big deal.
After finishing his breakfast, he wiped his mouth with a napkin and said to them, "I’m heading out now. Are you planning to stay at my house, or are we going out together?"
Guo ngyao stood up first and said, "I’ll head to work now then."
Wu ngting slightly furrowed her brows and asked, "Where are you going?"
Chen Feng candidly replied, "To et with Xiao Hui to discuss the jewelry store preparations."
"Oh, then go ahead."
Wu ngting didn’t seem the least bit angry, which, surprisingly, put Chen Feng in a bad mood.
But he didn’t say much more. After briefly tidying up in the back room, he ca out again and noticed Guo ngyao had already left, while Wu ngting was still waiting there.
"When do you expect to be back?" Wu ngting inquired.
"It’s hard to say, maybe tonight," Chen Feng casually replied.
"Then I might not wait for you. I originally planned to spend the day with you here and then head back to my parents’ place for dinner, leaving for Xiu Zhou tomorrow afternoon."
"There’s plenty of ti. I’ll head back in a few days too."
"Alright, then I’ll just head back to my parents’ place now."
"It’s up to you. I’ll be back in Xiu Zhou in a few days."
"Okay."
With the conversation over, Chen Feng drove off.
Wu ngting watched as Chen Feng left, maintaining a calm exterior despite feeling a touch of bitterness inside.
She was well aware of Chen Feng’s attitude towards her, often deliberately avoiding her, which to her was a sign of guilt.
He was clearly trying to back out of the pace they had previously agreed upon.
This, of course, troubled her, and joining forces with Guo ngyao had been a preditated plan, though it involved so calculated considerations.
With the end of their agreed six-month period approaching in just over ten days, she was determined to make sure Chen Feng honored their agreent.
If possible, she wanted to avoid having to allocate two lover slots; that would be the best outco.
If that wasn’t possible, she’d consider giving Chen Feng a buffer period, like two months, certainly no more than three.
If even that wasn’t viable, she’d reluctantly and painfully offer one slot to Sun Xiaorui.
Since the two of them were now living with Chen Feng and working at the sa company, secretly balancing out Lu Sijia, they had already reached an understanding. If Chen Feng wanted an extra lover, she could barely accept it—at least it would be better than others.
If one slot for Sun Xiaorui still wasn’t feasible, her bottom line would extend to two slots.
Concerning the second slot, it wasn’t necessarily reserved for Guo ngyao.
However, currently, Guo ngyao was a preferable option for her, alongside Yu Xiaohui.
In so respects, Yu Xiaohui might even be a better candidate for the second slot.
The reason being Yu Xiaohui had two children, which made it almost impossible for Chen Feng to marry a woman with two kids.
Although Guo ngyao also had a child, the odds of Chen Feng marrying her were still higher than those with Yu Xiaohui.
Nonetheless, Yu Xiaohui’s seemingly weak personality, lacking the assertiveness of a female CEO like Guo ngyao, might not be capable of keeping Chen Feng in check.
Of course, Chen Feng was unaware of Wu ngting’s thoughts and calculations, but he was indeed pondering how to avoid fulfilling the initial agreent he made with her.
