Huichun Hall’s second-floor office.
No sooner had Chen Feng left than Wen Zihan asked with puzzlent, "Old Hu, why did you start with a high price for him?"
Old Hu smiled faintly and said, "Don’t you think he has an extraordinary aura?"
Wen Zihan thought for a mont and nodded, "That’s true. He seems very approachable; I felt at ease the first ti I saw him."
Old Hu shook his head slightly, "It’s not the sa. When I talk about ’extraordinary aura,’ I mainly refer to ’Qi.’ In Traditional Chinese dicine, we ’look, sll, ask, and feel the pulse,’ and looking is the most important—also known as ’observing Qi.’ This Qi encompasses many anings, such as complexion, energy field, temperant, montum, fortune, and so on. In short, the first ti I saw him and observed his Qi, I could tell that he was no ordinary person, that he had great fortune. Although he seems to be in a spot of bother now, his luck is on the upswing. It was a small effort for to give him a good deal, one that benefits Huichun Hall without any drawbacks."
Wen Zihan frowned and shook her head, "Old Hu, this sounds a bit mystical, doesn’t it? You’re a practitioner of Chinese dicine, not a fortune-telling Taoist."
Old Hu laughed and said, "The paths of healing are not separate, understand? I told you to learn Chinese dicine, but you insisted on learning Western dicine."
"Okay, okay, I know what you an, Old Hu. You want to ’cast a long line to catch a big fish,’ right? You must think he might have good herbs in the future. Besides, the money for the sheep placenta isn’t coming out of Huichun Hall’s pocket."
Old Hu laughed heartily and said no more.
...
With the huge sum of money in hand, Chen Feng was inevitably happy.
And now that he had so much money, he was even more reluctant to die.
So, he decided to try and save himself once more.
After all, maybe the provincial hospital’s equipnt was faulty?
Maybe the chief physician had diagnosed him incorrectly? Maybe there was a mix-up with the dical records? Maybe...
Anyway, he wasn’t ready to give up, he still wanted to try and save himself.
Thus, after leaving Huichun Hall, Chen Feng imdiately went to another top-notch hospital in the province, slipped the nurses and head nurse a substantial red packet, and managed to secure an appointnt with a specialist.
After a series of tests, Chen Feng once again received the sa brain tumor diagnosis.
The specialist’s deanor was even more pleasant than that of the previous chief physician, gentle and soft-spoken.
However, the consolations of both were strikingly similar. To relax, eat well, drink well, enjoy life, and try to fulfill any desires, such as visiting a place he had always wanted to see, or trying food he hadn’t tasted before.
This specialist took the rare step of spending almost ten minutes comforting Chen Feng and would have continued if Chen Feng hadn’t ended the consultation himself.
When Chen Feng said goodbye, he saw once again a deep look of sympathy in her eyes.
This damn hospital! Chen Feng swore he’d never co back.
Maybe the dical capabilities of these top-rated hospitals in the provincial city were all show. Maybe the dical equipnt in both places was malfunctioning.
In any case, Chen Feng was not ready to resign himself to his fate.
He had just earned over ten million yuan, becoming a millionaire. How could he just accept dying so soon?
Chen Feng secretly decided that tomorrow he would go to the best hospital in Beijing; no, he would go today.
And so, Chen Feng drove back to his rental to pack his bags. Then, he booked a flight, the closest one at 4:30 PM.
And it was already 3:30 PM.
Chen Feng imdiately grabbed his luggage and hailed a taxi to the airport.
Despite hurrying, he barely caught the flight.
Because he was in a rush, when he booked the flight, there were no seats available in economy or business class, so Chen Feng directly booked a first-class seat.
Before, he wouldn’t even consider business class, let alone first class.
But now, he wasn’t short on money, and he might be close to dying. Of course, spending money wasn’t a concern.
The service in first class truly was incomparable to economy or business class. Not to ntion anything else, the flight attendants’ attractiveness and service attitude were a notch or two higher.
Then there were the seats and space, the hardware configuration, none of which could be matched by the other two cabin classes.
However, Chen Feng was on this trip to Beijing for dical treatnt and, naturally, had no mood to admire the attractive flight attendants or scrutinize the seats.
He just lay back in his seat, squinted, lost in his thoughts, and then slowly drifted off to sleep.
By the ti he was woken by the airplane’s announcent, he had already arrived in Beijing.
The flight from Xiu Zhou to Beijing was just around two hours.
Chen Feng imdiately grabbed his belongings, hurried off the plane, and before long, everyone was crowded at the cabin door, queued up and waiting.
Suddenly, soone forcefully pushed Chen Feng from behind, unprepared, he stumbled hard into the person in front of him.
It was a woman; she let out a cry of surprise and stumbled forward as well, luckily the woman in front of her was considerably heavyset, with a very stable base, and despite the lighter woman’s delicate fra, she did not disturb the one in front, though she did startle her.
"What the hell?" The woman in front turned and glared at her, then said with a mix of envy and jealousy, "Look at you, so skinny that a gust of wind could blow you over. What’s the use? Can’t even stand steady."
"I’m sorry, I’m sorry, it wasn’t on purpose. Soone behind bumped into ."
The woman hastily apologized and explained, then she angrily glared at Chen Feng, "What are you doing? Was that on purpose? Be careful, or I’ll accuse you of sexual harassnt."
The woman was wearing big sunglasses, heavy makeup, with skin excessively white and lips too red. However, it was apparent that her facial features were delicate and refined.
Chen Feng didn’t retort, but he turned around, visibly annoyed, to look behind him, only to see another heavyset person, a man, who quickly shook his hands saying, "It wasn’t , the person who pushed just ducked behind soone else."
Chen Feng turned to look back, through the long queue, how could he find the culprit? Was he supposed to check the security footage? He had to let it go.
Perhaps hearing what the heavyset man had said, the woman in front realized that Chen Feng was also pushed and didn’t bother with him anymore, just cautiously keeping a slight distance and slightly turning her body to guard against him.
Seeing this, Chen Feng felt a bit frustrated but didn’t know what to say.
Finally, the cabin door opened, and everyone disembarked in single file.
Chen Feng got into a taxi and headed towards a hotel he had already booked online.
By this ti, it was already dark. Going to the hospital to register would have to wait until tomorrow.
Beijing’s taxi drivers are said to be very chatty, but the one Chen Feng got into was clearly an exception. After getting into the taxi, aside from asking the address, the driver hardly spoke.
Instead, it was Chen Feng who took the initiative to ask, "Master, I heard that Shuangyun Hospital in Beijing is the best, is that true?"
It was then that the driver spoke up, "Shuangyun Hospital is quite good, but it’s not the best. The best one isn’t open to the public. Money doesn’t matter; you need connections to get in."
"Oh, can you tell which is the best hospital?" Chen Feng asked, seemingly eager to learn.
"Well, this..." The driver was about to tease a bit but suddenly exclaid, "Shit," followed by a loud bang. The taxi shook violently as it rear-ended a black sedan in front.
