Li Yujiao finally snapped out of her daze when she saw this and hurriedly opened the car door to get out.

Waiting at the entrance were Xu Jun and his mother, as well as Lin Yujiao’s parents.

As soon as Xu Jun spotted Chen Feng, his expression changed. Then, seeing Wu ngting getting out of the car, his eyes lit up. While he was guessing the relationship between Chen Feng and Wu ngting, he saw his ex-wife, Lin Yujiao, stepping out from the car, and his expression changed once again.

Seeing his ex-wife with her current boyfriend side by side certainly made him feel uncomfortable.

"Yu Jiao, why didn’t you answer your phone?" Mrs. Lin chided her daughter as soon as she appeared.

She did resemble her daughter in appearance, but she was quite short, had thin lips, and sowhat triangular eyes which gave her a rather an look.

"Alright., Now that we’ve seen each other, let’s not worry about it anymore," Mr. Lin spoke up to defend his daughter and tried to soothe the situation. He was handsoly tall, almost 5 feet 9 inches, with a robust deanor, loud voice, and ticulously combed hair.

Chen Feng took a few steps forward, stood in front of them, and greeted them with a smile, "Uncle, Auntie, hello, I’m Yu Jiao’s boyfriend, Chen Feng. It’s our first eting, and I didn’t prepare anything, I’m really sorry. How about I treat you all to a al at the Yujing Hotel in the county town? It’s the only five-star hotel in our county, newly built last year. I had a al there before, and the dishes were quite good."

The Yujing Hotel was the sa place where he had gone for a buffet with Wu ngting before.

"Yu Jiao, is he really your boyfriend?" Mr. Lin frowned and looked at Lin Yujiao.

Lin Yujiao quickly nodded and said, "Yes, Dad. We just made our relationship official a few days ago. I wanted to tell you, but I didn’t expect it to... turn out this way..."

Chen Feng interrupted her, "You go ahead and open the shop, and we’ll talk inside. There are too many people here."

Seeing bystanders looking their way, Mrs. Lin quickly agreed, "Yes, let’s talk inside."

Upon hearing this, Lin Yujiao went to open the shop door, and everyone entered one after the other.

After hesitating for a mont, Wu ngting followed and also entered the shop.

As soon as they were inside, Mrs. Xu imdiately pleaded with Lin Yujiao with a remorseful expression, "Yu Jiao, it’s all my fault. Please reconcile with Ah Jun, and I’ll agree to anything. I will move back to the countryside imdiately, and I will not bother you or him without your permission. Besides, you can manage all the earnings from the clothing store..."

"This lady! Are you deaf?" Chen Feng candidly interrupted Mrs. Xu, "Yu Jiao has already divorced your son and no longer has any relation with him; she is now my girlfriend. Asking her to remarry your son, aren’t you joking?"

Upon hearing Chen Feng’s words, Mrs. Xu imdiately beca so enraged that she started to curse, "You heartless man! Breaking up a family, you will face retribution!"

Chen Feng did not get angry but just chuckled, "You’re right. Breaking up a family will have its couppance. But, did you forget? It was you who destroyed your son and Yu Jiao’s marriage and family. Had it not been for your constant nagging and dissatisfaction with Yu Jiao, and finally even persuading your son to agree to the divorce, their family wouldn’t have fallen apart. As you just said, it’s all your fault."

Chen Feng’s blunt truthfulness was indeed both infuriating and hurtful.

Mrs. Xu was so angered that her face alternated between shades of red and pale, and she gasped for air, unable to retort.

Lin Yujiao, with a stern face, turned to Xu Jun who was rubbing his mother’s back and trying to calm her, and said, "Xu Jun, it’s impossible between us. You really should stop pursuing . With your qualities, it shouldn’t be hard to find soone better than . Ideally, soone who gets along with your mom and is good-tempered."

"Yu Jiao...can you give another fair chance to pursue you? I... I really like you."

Xu Jun looked pitifully desperate and miserable.

Lin Yujiao clearly showed no rcy, her frown deepening and her tone stern, "Xu Jun, this is really pointless. Even if I agreed to remarry you, would you really have the heart to send your mother to live alone in the countryside? And do you genuinely believe your mother and I can truly bury the hatchet without any grudges or ever avoiding each other completely? That’s impossible. Besides, I have no feelings for you anymore. The endless quarrels over the past few years have already eroded any love between us."

Upon hearing this, Xu Jun’s eyes imdiately welled up with tears, and he stood there lost and dejected.

Seeing her son this way, Mrs. Xu beca slightly agitated and said, "Yu Jiao, do you just wish I were dead? Then I’ll go out this instant and get hit by a car. That way, you and Ah Jun can live peacefully."

As she spoke, Mrs. Xu tried to run outside, making Xu Jun quickly reach out and desperately pull her back, pleading, "Mom, what are you saying? Don’t do this."

Lin Yujiao remained calm but let out a cold laugh, "Throwing threats of dying or living all the ti, how old are you? Aren’t you being childish? Xu Jun, take your mom away. I don’t want to see you again."

Mrs. Xu’s face turned from green to white after being talked to that way by Lin Yujiao and she found it hard to rebut.

"Mom, let’s just leave."

Xu Jun saw his mom get upset like this, and he felt heartache but also realized that the situation was unmanageable and decided it was best to leave.

Mrs. Xu, of course, recognized that things weren’t going to work out this ti, and even felt a secret relief. If it had really worked out, she would have to move to the countryside and live alone, which she thought would have been really pitiable.

Not being able to live with her son was sothing she couldn’t accept.

It was only because she saw her son so disheartened and sorrowful that she agreed to his plan to use two hundred thousand as a bride-price to sway Lin Yujiao’s parents.

Now that the plan seed unworkable, she gladly realized she did not have to live apart from her son, nor lose the two hundred thousand.

Thus, she gave in quietly with a grim nod and let her son escort her out of the store.

As they reached the door, Xu Jun turned around with a serious look and said to Lin Yujiao, "Yujiao, I am not going to give up. As long as you’re not married, I will keep trying."

After that, he continued to help his mom out of the door.

"What’s all this ss!"

After Xu Jun and his mother left, Mrs. Lin started moaning and groaning.

Mr. Lin frowned and asked his daughter solemnly, "Yujiao, do you really not want to remarry Ah Jun? You two have been together for so many years. I think you should reconsider carefully."

Lin Yujiao shook her head firmly, "Dad, I really don’t want to have anything to do with him again."

Mrs. Lin beca a bit angry and said, "You child, Ah Jun is such a good man. Although his mom was wrong before, she even ca here personally to apologize to you. What more do you want? Do you really need her to kneel down and beg you?"

Lin Yujiao glanced at her mother and replied unhappily, "Mom, if you are advising to remarry him just because of the two hundred thousand bride-price, don’t bla if I disown you later."

Mrs. Lin was taken aback, and Mr. Lin beca very upset and scolded, "What nonsense are you talking? Your parents are advising you to remarry for your own good. You and Ah Jun have known each other for years, surely that’s better than finding soone unreliable?"

"Cough cough, Uncle, although I have a few flaws, I think I’m pretty reliable."

Chen Feng interrupted their ongoing argunt.

Mr. Lin squinted his eyes and asked directly, "You say you’re reliable, so when do you plan to marry my daughter? How much will you offer for the bride-price? Is the wedding house ready?"

Chen Feng was at a loss for words! That direct hit surely caught him off-guard.

Lin Yujiao quickly stepped in, "Dad! I’ve just established a relationship with him a few days ago. How can we discuss marriage so soon? Let us get to know each other slowly, and we can talk about marriage once we understand each other better."

Mr. Lin snorted, "Slowly get to know each other? Until when do you plan to do that? You are already how old? After the New Year, you’ll be twenty-eight, still slowly? What if he just wants to fool around and dump you later?"
