ngyao looked like it had been a really long ti since she last sang karaoke. Once she started, she never put the microphone down, singing five or six songs in a row and still not satisfied. No doubt a microphone hog.
Her singing skills were diocre at best, not out of tune or breaking, but nothing spectacular either.
It was only after singing for at least half an hour and feeling thirsty that she paused to have a drink.
"This drink isn’t soothing at all, not as good as beer."
ngyao took a sip of waterlon juice then promptly put it down and picked up a bottle of Snow Beer from the coffee table, guzzling it down. Soon the bottle was empty, drunk in one go.
Chen Feng and the other two were stunned by her boldness.
Chen Feng had ordered a large room and got a complintary case of twenty-four small bottles of Snow Beer Ice Cool, along with a fruit plate and various snacks. Initially unaware, he only found out when it was delivered but was too lazy to return it and just left it there.
None of the three n intended to start drinking, so ngyao went ahead and downed a bottle herself.
"ngyao, you can really hold your liquor, just downing a bottle like that. Impressive!"
Chen Feng said jokingly.
"This Snow Beer tastes just like plain water. And it’s such a small bottle, what’s impressive about that? Co on, everyone take one."
ngyao grabbed two bottles and handed them to Chen Feng and Wu ngting.
Chen Feng chuckled as he took it, a man like him certainly couldn’t be outdrunk by a woman, and indeed the small bottle of Snow Beer really did drink like water.
Wu ngting quickly shook her head in refusal, "I shouldn’t; I have to drive later."
"What about you?" ngyao then handed one to Lin Yujiao.
Lin Yujiao smiled and accepted it.
"OK, let’s the three of us have a drink."
ngyao, holding a bottle, said to both, then took another swig, downing yet another bottle.
Chen Feng was sowhat taken aback, as he had never known ngyao to drink.
Of course, back in high school, to be honest, he hadn’t known her that well since he was entirely focused on studying and getting into university.
Besides, "Won change," they say, and after eleven years, it wasn’t surprising she’d beco good at drinking.
"Drink up!"
Prompted by ngyao, Chen Feng downed a bottle as well, soon awakened from the spell.
To be honest, Snow Beer didn’t taste as rich as Budweiser, nor as refreshing as Harbin Beer, but it was passable.
Lin Yujiao also drank a bottle. Seeing her so composed, it was clear she knew how to handle her liquor.
This was new to Chen Feng too; during their last eting here, neither had drunk.
"Good! Keep going."
ngyao said and opened another bottle for herself, making Chen Feng a bit scared. He hurriedly intervened, "Hold on! Who drinks like that? Take it easy, drinking so much so fast especially when it’s this cold, it’s definitely not going to feel good."
It was December after all, and although it was the south, temperatures could drop below zero at night; not the best ti for icy beer.
"It feels great," ngyao said with a smile. "So recent issues have made quite irritable; the cold beer helps cool down."
Chen Feng teased, "For a woman’s heart fire, you should take Xiao Yao Elixir."
ngyao grinned at him, "You really know a lot, pretty knowledgeable about won, huh?"
Chen Feng shrugged, "I’ve had... girlfriends before, of course, I know a thing or two about won. Trust , if you’re feeling upset or distressed, take Xiao Yao Elixir, not cold beer."
"Thanks for the concern, but I’d rather have the beer."
After saying that, ngyao opened another bottle and gulped it down quickly.
Seeing her do this, Chen Feng knew her words were true, she really was feeling agitated, otherwise, she wouldn’t drink like that.
Thus, Chen Feng no longer tried to stop her, only saying, "Co, sit down and eat so snacks to absorb the alcohol."
This ti, ngyao didn’t refuse, sitting next to Chen Feng and picking up so snacks from the coffee table to eat.
"Chen Feng, you still care and look after others just like back in school," ngyao said while eating, looking at Chen Feng with a light smile.
Chen Feng wasn’t a rookie, and recalling Qin Zhen saying she had a crush on him in high school, he replied with a broad smile, "Your laugh is still so sincere and beautiful. Seeing you smile always lifts my spirits."
"Pff!"
That was Wu ngting, who had just taken a drink, spraying it out. Both Chen Feng and ngyao were shocked by her reaction, abruptly shattering the nostalgic atmosphere.
She quickly stood up, grabbed a tissue from the table to wipe her mouth, then sheepishly said to Chen Feng and ngyao, "Sorry about that, that was just too cheesy, I couldn’t help myself."
"Your brother?" ngyao looked bewildered at Chen Feng. "Didn’t you say she was just your friend? When did she beco your sister?"
Before Chen Feng could respond, Wu ngting hurriedly said, "I’m his sworn sister. We t in Xiu Zhou, we’re all from Lu City, and just got to know each other well over ti. Initially, I wanted to be his girlfriend, but he didn’t agree, so I beca his sworn sister."
"Oh, really? Ha, are you serious?" ngyao clearly didn’t believe it and looked at Chen Feng again with a laugh.
Since it was the truth, Chen Feng found it hard to deny outright, but he really hadn’t expected Wu ngting to be so upfront about it, which was sowhat embarrassing.
"It’s true," seeing Chen Feng not denying it, ngyao knew it must be true and, slightly surprised, laughed at Wu ngting, "I don’t know whether to complint you on your taste or to call you a fool for it."
