Sure enough, she sang the whole song without going off pitch or breaking voiced, but Guo ngyao’s watery eyes kept darting over, her gaze intense, which made Chen Feng feel sowhat uneasy.
After that song ended, Wu ngting also took the initiative to sing "Rooftop" with Chen Feng.
Finally, Lin Yujiao also ca forward to sing "Lovers in the World" with Chen Feng, which made things a bit difficult for him. He couldn’t keep up with the lyrics at first and, unsurprisingly, went off key in the high notes.
Not only did this make Wu ngting and Guo ngyao laugh back and forth, but Lin Yujiao also couldn’t continue because of her laughter.
At that point, Chen Feng stopped singing.
Among the laughter of the three won, everyone wrapped up their karaoke session.
Guo ngyao kept her word and took everyone out for bird’s nest soup.
By then, Wu ngting and Lin Yujiao had ward up to her and didn’t refuse. As for Chen Feng, he obviously had no intention of refusing.
So, the four of them got into Chen Feng’s car, with Wu ngting driving, and under Guo ngyao’s directions, they arrived at a stewed dish restaurant.
The place wasn’t large, but its decorations scread nouveau riche.
When the four arrived, there weren’t many other patrons.
Guo ngyao confidently walked up to the front desk and ordered four stew pots, three with papaya stewed bird’s nest for the ladies, and one with cordyceps for Chen Feng.
"This restaurant’s owner is a relative of my family. I get an 80% discount here. It’s been opened for over a decade, an old brand, and both the bird’s nest and cordyceps are genuinely authentic," said Guo ngyao.
Shortly after her introduction, the four stew pots were served.
Chen Feng tasted it and had to admit it was delicious. He’d never had such nourishing food before and was glad to have finally tried it.
After finishing their dishes, it was already past eleven.
Yet Guo ngyao showed no sign of saying goodbye and insisted on going to see a movie.
Chen Feng ntioned that movie theaters should be closed by now, but Guo ngyao stated they were still open, at least until the early hours.
Chen Feng was skeptical, but also wanted to quash her determination, so the four headed to a nearby cinema. The old county wasn’t very big, and a car ride around took just a few minutes.
Parking the car outside the cinema, they went over and found to their surprise the doors were still open. Chen Feng was genuinely enlightened.
He’d never known that the town cinema operated so late.
Since it was indeed open, and since they were all there, the group had no objections and went in to buy movie tickets for a 3D blockbuster, which astonishingly cost over a hundred each, adding up to more than six hundred for the four of them—a frankly exorbitant price.
However, once inside the theater, they realized they were the only four in there.
It made sense though, not many people would co to watch a movie at this ti, and with tickets priced over a hundred, one might as well spend the money on a hotel room for so rest.
Considering they essentially paid over six hundred Yuan to have the theater to themselves, it seed sowhat justified.
The movie began, and all four put on their 3D glasses.
Chen Feng was seated between Wu ngting on his left and Guo ngyao on his right, with Lin Yujiao, his "official" girlfriend, sitting beside Wu ngting.
Just as the movie started, a giant white shark leaped out from the screen, looking very realistic, startling everyone. Chen Feng was okay, but all four won scread out.
Then Chen Feng felt his right hand being grabbed by Guo ngyao sitting next to him, directly on his hand—not on his arm or wrist.
For a mont, Chen Feng shivered all over, wanting to pull away, but for so reason, he ended up not doing so.
Fortunately, everyone was wearing 3D glasses, and the theater was dimly lit, so nobody noticed their intimate handholding.
Wu ngting and Lin Yujiao didn’t notice either.
Chen Feng couldn’t help but vainly think, was Guo ngyao craving his body?
Chen Feng hesitated whether to flirt back with a touch to see her reaction.
But soon after, Guo ngyao withdrew her hand.
Chen Feng felt sowhat disappointed. Was she just subconsciously scared and accidentally grabbed his hand?
That was all Chen Feng could guess.
He quickly dismissed the inappropriate thoughts he’d had and focused on watching the movie.
Despite currently maintaining three mistresses, he still considered himself a gentleman, at least not the type to entangle with married won or underage girls.
He was quite principled in that respect.
Although previously Guo ngyao had ntioned she and her husband had been separated for nearly a year, they weren’t divorced yet. Officially, she was still a married woman.
So, although Chen Feng had found her attractive before, he had not thought about dirty thoughts like getting her into bed.
The movie continued, and after so intense opening scenes, it followed the typical Hollywood narrative techniques, introducing the background and then featuring long character dialogues.
After about fifteen minutes, there was another scene of a high-altitude fall, which once again scared the three won into screaming.
Then, Guo ngyao’s hand found its way into Chen Feng’s right hand again.
Damn it! Was this unintentional again?
If it were truly unintentional, a subconscious action would have made grabbing his arm much easier than grabbing his hand.
Besides, Chen Feng’s hand was under the seat, not on the armrest.
Not to ntion, calling the first ti an accident, it got harder to pass the second ti as an accident.
Chen Feng resisted the urge to turn his head to look at her and continued to act indifferently like a puppet, suppressing the impulse to stroke her palm with his finger.
This ti, she held on noticeably longer than the first ti.
The first ti was less than a minute, but this ti it lasted over two minutes, while the intense scene in the movie lasted less than thirty seconds.
Her apparent flirting and hinting were clear.
Chen Feng had to admire her boldness at this point; it was quite sothing. Moreover, like him, she kept a straight face watching the movie, with no turning or twisting her head.
Chen Feng really wanted to say to her, "ngyao, you’ve turned naughty!"
Having done it twice, there would definitely be a third ti, especially since Chen Feng had shown no signs of "resisting," which made her even more reckless.
The third ti she held Chen Feng’s hand, a finger intentionally scratched lightly at his palm.
It tickled Chen Feng from his palm to his heart and right down to his feet.
This damn seductress!
Since she was already behaving this way, Chen Feng playing a wooden figure anymore would simply undermine his dignity as a man.
So, Chen Feng also curled a finger and scratched back.
Guo ngyao’s body jerked suddenly, and she giggled a few tis.
Turns out she was very ticklish and quickly pulled her hand back.
At this mont, the movie depicted a scene of widespread carnage, and Guo ngyao’s sudden laughter made both Wu ngting and Lin Yujiao stretch their heads to look over.
Luckily, their hands had already separated by then.
Guo ngyao laughed and explained, "I just thought the plot was a bit nonsensical and couldn’t help laughing."
Wu ngting earnestly agreed, "Yes. The plot is a bit unreasonable; these people are too foolish, blindly disregarding advice. Surely there must be a few smart ones among so many people."
Lin Yujiao said, "That’s foreign films for you, impressive scenes but sotis the plots don’t hold up to scrutiny."
Chen Feng was speechless for a good while inside.
The three won talked for a bit and then resud watching the movie.
After another quiet fifteen minutes, during a thrilling scene, Guo ngyao scread and grabbed his hand again.
This ti she didn’t scratch the palm of his hand, but Chen Feng did.
Guo ngyao jerked her whole body, trying hard to hold it in, but eventually burst out laughing.
Lin Yujiao and Wu ngting looked over at her again.
Chen Feng teasingly asked, "What made you laugh this ti?"
In the movie, the male and female protagonists were desperately fleeing together; there was absolutely nothing funny about it.
Guo ngyao turned and glared at Chen Feng, but it was futile since everyone was wearing 3D glasses; her glare went unnoticed.
"I... I just couldn’t help laughing at how in Hollywood blockbusters, you often see the male and female leads holding hands while escaping."
Indeed, it seed that was often the case.
Chen Feng couldn’t help but admire her quick thinking and ability to make up stories on the fly; no wonder she was the female CEO of a company worth two hundred million.
