Early rise and yet another fine day, Chen Feng and Lin Yujiao ran together along the small path between the fields, greeting the morning sun and savoring the gentle breeze.
They stopped at the outdoor fitness area by the river, where Chen Feng began doing sit-ups and Lin Yujiao stood on the waist-twisting machine.
Lin Yujiao seemingly spoke casually, "Last night, that female classmate of yours suddenly sent a WeChat ssage."
Chen Feng paused, then asked, "She added you on WeChat?"
Chen Feng rembered Guo ngyao claiming she didn’t have Lin Yujiao’s and Wu ngting’s contact information before. It seed she had lied.
"Yeah. Last ti after the bird’s nest al, we added each other when the three of us went to the bathroom together."
"Oh, what did she talk to you about?" Chen Feng asked nonchalantly.
"She was asking about us going to et the parents together yesterday. She probably thought we were gearing up for marriage."
Lin Yujiao said this while watching Chen Feng’s expression carefully, but unfortunately, she couldn’t discern any changes.
"She’s just a gossip. You should just ignore her from now on."
Chen Feng dismissed it carelessly, continuing his sit-ups.
Lin Yujiao felt sowhat disappointed and couldn’t help asking, "She seems really concerned about you. You don’t have sothing going on with her, do you?"
Upon hearing this, Chen Feng grew irritated and said impatiently, "Why are you asking this? Just don’t bother with her from now on."
Lin Yujiao felt a bit aggrieved at Chen Feng’s response but imdiately gave an obedient "Okay," as if to agree.
Chen Feng then disregarded Lin Yujiao.
Whether it was Guo ngyao or Lin Yujiao, his stance was very clear; Guo ngyao was an old classmate and a casual partner, while Lin Yujiao was a kept mistress. None of them were his girlfriend, nor was there a possibility for that in the future.
So, when he had noticed Guo ngyao overstepping boundaries previously, he imdiately decided to let their relationship cool down, not contacting her for the past couple of days.
Lin Yujiao was a little better. Even if she seed to be falling for him, she was, after all, his mistress. A little boundary-crossing was tolerable to him—as long as she didn’t act too much like a girlfriend, pestering him with questions and even trying to ddle in his social circle.
After their workout, both headed ho to shower and pack their luggage.
They had to catch the high-speed train at 1:15 pm, which ant leaving by maximal 12 noon from their end. Consequently, Chen Feng had lunch a bit earlier on his own.
He told his mom he was off to visit a couple of neighboring cities with friends. She didn’t ask much, just reminded him to be safe.
After finishing lunch at 11:30 am, Chen Feng, with his luggage, went over to Lin Yujiao’s place.
She had already booked a ride-hailing car for 12 noon. After chatting in her rental room for a while, they got a call from the driver.
Half an hour later, they smoothly arrived at the high-speed train station, collected the tickets, and entered.
Once on board, Lin Yujiao was visibly excited, snapping pictures with her phone all over, taking several selfies with Chen Feng while they sat together.
Chen Feng just reminded her not to post any pictures of them together on her social dia, and left her to it.
About an hour later, they reached their destination, Xia Guang County—a picturesque little town with radiant skylines in all seasons, coastal, thriving in fisheries, where sea and sky blend, boasting many cultural and natural attractions, drawing nurous tourists each year.
Perhaps due to the approaching New Year, there weren’t as many tourists around.
Following the travel guide, they went straight from the county train station to the first spot, a small fishing village, where they checked into a seaside B&B room located on a slope near the tidal flats, facing the vast sea. Through the room’s windows and glass walls, one could enjoy the broad ocean view, spotted with bamboo necessary for aquafarming, with mountains stacked against the horizon in the distance.
Such a room wasn’t too expensive at this ti—just over four hundred per night, with decent hygiene and visibly clean. After checking in, the two took advantage of the afternoon, renting bicycles and cycling along the coastal road, stopping now and then to take pictures.
At the bottom of the hill where they were staying laid a sandy beach, constantly brushed by the seawater, the sunlight causing the waves to flicker with glimring gold, the shifting light and shadows on wave and sand creating stunning views.
Many photography enthusiasts were there with professional caras, capturing the scene.
Regular tourists like Chen Feng and Lin Yujiao joyfully snapped away with their phones.
Lin Yujiao was having a great ti, her face always adorned with a smile, while Chen Feng too was in good spirits.
As the sun set, the scenery beca even more enchantingly beautiful, as if they were in a painting or fairyland.
Side by side on the beach, they watched the sunset descend behind the mountains opposite them before reluctantly cycling back.
For dinner in the village, of course, they had seafood—truly fresh—leaving them both imnsely satisfied.
Both had essentially grown up by the sea, especially Lin Yujiao, whose father was a fisherman. However, so seafood here was slightly different from Bay Town; for example, the crabs were bigger and atier. Different fisheries ant different qualities and tastes for so seafood.
After eating, they returned to their seaside B&B room and sat by the window, savoring the night view they had been admiring all day. Lin Yujiao then took the initiative to sit on his lap, and subsequently, amid the srizing seaside night view, they engaged in the act they both loved.
For a mont, they both felt as if their souls had ascended, united with heaven and earth.
The next morning at five o’clock, they were woken by the alarm clock, and Lin Yujiao hurriedly went to freshen up, surprisingly finishing in just over fifteen minutes.
