Chen Feng saw Wu ngting get out of the car, take a warning sign from the trunk, and place it a dozen ters behind the vehicle. Only then did she stand by the roadside and hurriedly make a phone call, but it seed she couldn’t get through.

Chen Feng thought for a mont, then rode his bike over, stopped by the roadside, and watched her finish her phone call. He then shouted across the guardrail, "Has your car broken down again?"

Wu ngting finally noticed Chen Feng, her face lighting up with joy, followed by a helpless nod, "Yes. It suddenly went off again. It’s driving crazy. It was just fixed not long ago. I drove all the way from Xiu Zhou without any issues, and just as I got here, it broke down again. I really don’t want this car anymore."

"Did you just call for roadside assistance?"

"No, I called the insurance company, but couldn’t get through."

"Should I take a look for you? I’ve heard before, if this type of car turns off automatically, it might be due to loose wiring."

"Really? Then co and take a look. I’m in a hurry to et up with a classmate."

So, Chen Feng went over and opened the hood to check.

His ex-wife, Shen Lin, had a similar car a few years ago with almost the sa issue. At the ti, Chen Feng found the reason online; it’s a quite common issue. So people said it was because of loose battery cables, others ntioned software issues, and so ntioned a relay problem.

At that ti, Chen Feng had reconnected the battery cable and it had worked.

Now, it was Wu ngting’s turn. Chen Feng tried the sa thing without any tools, just tinkering with a few wires. Then, he had Wu ngting go and start it.

Incredibly, it actually started. What luck!

"Thank you! Thank you! You’ve really helped out a lot, and this is the second ti. Brother Chen, you’re my savior."

Wu ngting, very happy and grateful, again exited her car to thank Chen Feng.

Chen Feng thought to himself, it seems like you’re unlucky whenever we et. If it weren’t for that, maybe the car wouldn’t have broken down.

"It’s quite a coincidence, I didn’t expect it to actually be that issue."

"Yes, it’s really lucky. Otherwise, I would have had to cancel on my classmate today; she’s waiting for to try on dresses."

"Well then, you should go. Don’t keep your classmate waiting."

"Okay, I’ll be taking off then. Next ti I’m back in Xiu Zhou, I’ll definitely treat you to a al."

Possibly really in a hurry, Wu ngting ran to pick up the warning sign, put it back in the trunk, and imdiately drove off.

Chen Feng watched her car drive away, then got back on his electric moped and went ho.

He had thought that would be the last of his intersections with Wu ngting. But two days later, Wu ngting took the initiative to call him.

Although Chen Feng was a bit surprised, he answered the call imdiately.

"Brother Chen, are you still in your hotown?" Wu ngting sounded quite cheerful.

"Yes, what’s up?" Chen Feng’s tone was rather calm.

"Well, I was thinking of taking inspiration from Lin Nan County, and if you’re free, I’d like to hire you to be my guide for a day or two. I can pay you three hundred a day, how about that?"

Chen Feng didn’t expect her to ask for that and was stunned for quite a while.

"How about it? Brother Chen, is it inconvenient? If it’s inconvenient, never mind."

"No, no, it’s not inconvenient at all. I don’t have much going on at ho, and being your guide would be no problem. Actually, I’d like to go out for a bit myself."

"That’s great. I’m on my way to you now, at the car beauty shop you opened at your house, how about that?"

"Sure, no problem."

After settling on the details, Chen Feng quickly got ready and then rode out on his electric moped.

Chen Feng had arrived first and, after waiting for around fifteen minutes, the familiar mini car drove up.

Chen Rui also saw it and encouraged him with a smile, "She took the initiative to ask you out, you have to seize the opportunity. Be a bit thick-skinned."

Chen Feng gave a wry smile and walked over to wave at the mini.

"Get in. How about you show around first?"

"No problem."

Chen Feng took the passenger seat, and the car quickly started.

Under Chen Feng’s guidance, they first drove to a local historical site in Qingpu Town, the Taiyin Palace, which was nearly two hundred years old. It was a Taoist temple that featured local characteristics, covering a vast area and including a stage.

Historically, the temple fair revolved around Taiyin Palace and was extrely lively. Held annually on the twenty-eighth day of the lunar first month, it attracted people from several nearby towns and villages.

As a child, Chen Feng always looked forward to this temple fair, and it held deep mories of his childhood.

There were quite a few Taoist murals inside Taiyin Palace which captivated Wu ngting, who occasionally took out her cara to snap photos eagerly.

Chen Feng felt a wave of nostalgia being back at this familiar place.

The temple had undergone several renovations and now looked brighter and more eye-catching, but it had lost the intimate and familiar feel of his childhood.

Since Chen Feng’s high school days, the temple fair on the twenty-eighth had declined year by year, losing its original charm.

However, there was one spot that hadn’t changed much, which gave Chen Feng a deep sense of familiarity.

It was the large open well in the center, circular with a diater of over three ters, ho to a bunch of bright red swampfish. It was common for people to feed them.

This ti, though there was a new high fence around the well, it still housed a bunch of bright red swampfish. When people approached, many swampfish surfaced.

This delighted both Wu ngting and Chen Feng, and they lingered around it for quite so ti.

They spent nearly two hours in Taiyin Palace before leaving, right around noon. Chen Feng then took the initiative to invite her for lunch.

Wu ngting did not refuse and accepted with a cheerful smile.

The two were now friends, and being a local, Chen Feng would typically have invited her to his ho. But to avoid misunderstandings among his family and potential embarrassnt for Wu ngting, they chose to eat in a restaurant instead.

They found a local restaurant where Chen Feng ordered a few regional dishes, including swampfish.

Swampfish, similar to Koi but primarily eaten rather than kept for ornantal purposes, was sothing Wu ngting had never tried before. Initially hesitant, she finally relented after Chen Feng’s encouragent and ended up enjoying the flavor imnsely.

Wu ngting was very satisfied with the al.

Seeing her looking a bit tired, Chen Feng then booked a room for her in a local hotel to rest, planning to continue the tour after she had rested.

Wu ngting did not refuse and agreed with a smile.

Once Chen Feng returned ho, his mother, who was minding the shop, imdiately caught him.

Since there were no custors, she eagerly asked, "Your brother ntioned a girl sought you out to hang out? How did it go?"

Chen Feng had no choice but to explain, "She’s just a regular friend. She’s a magazine editor, here to gather material and take so photos, and asked to guide her, nothing more."

Zhao Xiaolan clearly didn’t believe it and stared at him directly, "I don’t care whether she’s just a friend. Since you’re divorced and single now, find soone reliable for soon. I want you to have a child soon."

"Alright, I know."

Chen Feng replied sowhat helplessly, then hastily escaped upstairs.
