Both brothers are her biological nephews, but the difference in treatnt is quite significant, though Chen Rui has been used to it since he was a child. Even if Li Guihong felt a bit upset, she couldn’t show it.
After breakfast, Chen Feng played battle gas with his cousin Fang Zechao. After lunch, Zhao Xiaolan and her husband Chen Dayong took their elder son’s family back to Lu City.
Shortly after, Chen Xiaoxia took her two children and got into the car driven by Chen Feng to visit a nearby tourist spot.
It’s seven or eight kiloters away from her ho, and the roads are smooth, so it takes only about ten minutes to drive there.
This area counts as the suburbs. There’s a small mountain, and at the foot of it, a large lake forms a natural park, which, with so human modifications and planning, has beco a modestly popular tourist spot.
People from the city often co here to play if they don’t want to travel far. There are not only green mountains and waters with so garden architecture but also a snack street alongside it. Not far from there, there’s even an amusent park, which is quite lively.
At the suggestion of cousin Fang Zechao, the four of them first went to the amusent park, took a ride on the roller coaster, then the Ferris wheel, followed by bumper cars. He also wanted to visit the haunted house, but this was unanimously opposed by both his mother and sister, so he had to give up. They then headed to the snack street for so snacks before strolling in the park.
The four of them walked and stopped, taking photos along the way. Chen Xiaoxia, especially, took many selfies with Chen Feng in close poses. In a few photos, she even leaned her head on Chen Feng’s shoulder, making cousin Fang Zechao feel a bit jealous.
When her own son took pictures with her, the most intimate gesture was just Chen Xiaoxia putting one hand on his shoulder.
Chen Feng was already aware of his aunt, who, despite being forty-five or forty-six years old, still had the heart of a young girl. Although he found it a bit helpless, he cooperated obediently.
Fortunately, they didn’t take too many pictures, just about a dozen or so. As the weather turned favorable, it started to drizzle, so they had to cut their outing short.
Returning to the car, they wiped themselves with tissues before starting the car to head back.
"Honestly, I checked the weather forecast, and it said it would be cloudy, but now it’s raining out of the blue. This weather forecast is really unreliable," Chen Xiaoxia couldn’t help but complain. They were having such a good ti, and the sudden rain really spoiled it.
Chen Feng comforted her, saying, "We can co back next ti."
Chen Xiaoxia, with a sigh, said, "Who knows when the next ti will be. You’re all grown up now. It’s rare to have everyone together like this."
Chen Feng couldn’t help but feel a twinge of sadness in his heart. It wasn’t certain there would be another opportunity like this next ti, but he still said, "Of course there will be. We could even co back tomorrow."
Cousin Fang Zechao chid in, "If we co back tomorrow, it won’t be as fun."
Cousin Fang Min nodded in agreent, "We’ve actually visited here several tis already. Coming back tomorrow right after today, what’s the point? Why don’t we go to Tang River Wetland Park tomorrow? There are a lot of wild birds and many beautiful folk houses."
It was rare for cousin Fang Min to say so much, and Chen Feng was the first to nod in agreent, "Sure, let’s go there tomorrow then."
Chen Xiaoxia also nodded, "That place is a bit farther. I went there two years ago. The scenery is nice, so it’s worth another visit."
Fang Zechao replied, "I went there with my classmates last year. It’s not fun at all. Just so old houses and a river. It’s boring, sister, let’s pick another place."
"I haven’t been there yet. I want to go. If you don’t want to, just don’t go. I’ll go with mom and cousin."
"Alright, alright. I’ll go with you then."
Just as they were speaking, Chen Xiaoxia suddenly shouted, "Ah Feng, stop, isn’t that Little Dan by the roadside?"
The car driven by Chen Feng had just been on the road for a few minutes when he heard his aunt in the front passenger seat shouting. He couldn’t help but slow down and look in the direction she was pointing. Although it was raining outside, and he was driving, they were quite close, so he could see clearly.
Standing by the roadside, it did seem to be Hong Xiaodan, arguing with soone.
"Ah Feng, go over and take a look. We know her, and we can’t let Little Dan be bullied."
What else could Chen Feng say? He had no choice but to signal and pull over to the roadside.
At this point, Hong Xiaodan was utterly furious. She had been in a bad mood since last night.
This morning, her mom had originally invited Chen Feng’s family over as guests with her consent, but they refused.
This undoubtedly made her and her mom feel very embarrassed, but since they said they had urgent matters at ho, what else could they say?
However, this made Hong Xiaodan’s mood even more aggravated. So, she drove around aimlessly in the city until it started drizzling, and she decided to head back.
Then she had a minor scrape with soone here. It was a small matter, and they could each handle it through insurance or wait for the police.
But when both parties got out of their cars, what was originally a minor issue blew up because the other driver’s girlfriend was her childhood nesis, Qi Lei, a classmate from elentary to high school.
They were originally best friends in elentary school. But in middle school, they beca enemies because a boy Qi Lei liked confessed to Hong Xiaodan. Ever since then, Qi Lei had been against her, until they went to different cities for college, when things finally ended.
They hadn’t seen each other in years and theoretically, this unexpected reunion should have been a ti to bury the hatchet with a smile.
Initially, Qi Lei acted magnanimous, smiling sweetly and holding her boyfriend’s arm, introducing him to Hong Xiaodan, who nodded and smiled back at her boyfriend out of politeness and exchanged a few words.
But things got complicated—her boyfriend seed srized by Hong Xiaodan, or at least Qi Lei thought so, which was close to the truth.
Her boyfriend kept apologizing to Hong Xiaodan, claiming the scrape was entirely his fault and he would cover the repair costs. He even suggested they et more often since they were old classmates, showing imnse enthusiasm.
He was so solicitous that even a fool could see it.
Consequently, Qi Lei imdiately thought of that handso classmate from middle school, whom Hong Xiaodan "stole" from her. New resentnt and old grudges surged up, and she instantly put on a sullen face, insisting that Hong Xiaodan was completely at fault for the scrape and should pay.
If Qi Lei had been more pleasant, it’d be one thing to take full responsibility. But with such an attitude, and recalling the tis Qi Lei targeted her in school, plus her already bad mood today, there was no way she could hold back.
So, they started arguing on the street.
It could only be described as a clash of fates.
And Qi Lei’s boyfriend could only try to diate, but his attempts at diplomacy only made things worse, making Qi Lei even angrier.
"Whose boyfriend are you? Mine or hers? Why are you stopping ?" Qi Lei saw her boyfriend acting like a fair judge, which infuriated her to the point that she directly lashed out at him.
