Returning to the city, it was about four thirty. Chen Feng declined his aunt’s invitation to stay until the next day, and set off for Lu City.
Upon arriving at Lu City’s center around six o’clock, Chen Feng saw Wu ngting, who had been waiting for quite a while at the People’s Square.
Initially, he hadn’t planned to et her in the city, but she’d been pleading with him over WeChat for the past couple of days, saying she was bored at ho, and urged him to visit her on the way back for a al together.
Feeling sorry for her, and as it was indeed on the way, thinking of how he would need her help in the future to manage his affairs, including holding his shares on his behalf and looking after his parents, their relationship was definitely sothing to be maintained well. Hence, he agreed to et her on the way back and have a al together.
People’s Square is considered a landmark with many bustling shops around.
Following Wu ngting’s suggestion, they went to a restaurant in a nearby alley to eat local specialties, reputed to be an old establishnt with several decades of history, and the taste was indeed quite good.
After dinner, they strolled around the vicinity for quite a while. It was nearly nine in the evening when Wu ngting suggested watching a movie. Chen Feng didn’t agree this ti, saying he needed to hurry back ho as it was too late.
Upon hearing this, Wu ngting didn’t insist any further. Chen Feng first took her to where she parked, then got into her car to be driven to where he parked.
"The day after tomorrow I’ll visit your place to celebrate the New Year. Rember to tell your mom when you go back."
Wu ngting reminded Chen Feng while driving.
"Got it. You’ve ntioned it several tis already. Don’t worry; I’ll tell my mom as soon as I get back. Actually, you could also send her a WeChat yourself tomorrow."
"If I say it myself, it’s kind of embarrassing. If you say it, it wouldn’t be."
"Alright. I’ll tell my mom tomorrow."
"You just said you’d tell her imdiately, now it’s tomorrow."
"I won’t be back till eleven or twelve, not sure if my mom would still be awake."
"Alright then. Rember to tell her tomorrow, or maybe I’ll remind you in the morning."

The parking spots in Lu City’s center are extrely scarce, so the places they parked were a bit far apart, plus the traffic lights, it took about ten minutes to reach where Chen Feng had parked.
Chen Feng opened the car door and got out, waving goodbye to Wu ngting. Only after watching her drive away did Chen Feng walk towards his car.
"Hi, we et again."
Standing in front of his car, a sowhat familiar voice ca from behind. Turning to look, by the streetlight, he saw that the speaker was the acquaintance Hong Yongming.
Seeing this man, Chen Feng couldn’t help but frown slightly.
This was too much of a coincidence, just separated from Wu ngting, and this guy happened to run into him.
"Were you specifically waiting for ?"
Chen Feng directly asked his inner question, his eyes sharply scrutinizing him.
Hong Yongming smiled slightly, maintaining an extrely poised deanor, didn’t imdiately answer Chen Feng’s question, instead, he slowly took out a box of cigarettes, pulled one out and held it in his mouth, then offered the box to Chen Feng. Seeing him shake his head, he put the box back in his pocket, took out a Zippo lighter and lit it for himself.
Only after taking a puff and exhaling did Hong Yongming calmly speak, "I know you and Little Ting have a good relationship, and it looks like Little Ting likes you a lot. Tell honestly, do you plan on pursuing her?"

Chen Feng opened the car door and got into the driver’s seat.

Seeing this, Chen Feng rolled down the window slightly, and said bluntly, "What do you an by this? Move away quickly."
Hong Yongming spoke coldly, "I know you’ve got a terminal illness, brain cancer at the final stage, right? I reckon Little Ting doesn’t know about it yet, you’ve been hiding it from her. What if I were to tell her about this, how do you think she would react?"
