After Chen Feng got on the highway, he finally received a ssage back from Wu ngting. Knowing she had just set off, he didn’t need to speed up on the road.
Once they reached the first service area on the highway, it didn’t take long before Wu ngting also arrived.
Both decided to take a break at the service area first.
Wu ngting bought a cup of milk tea, while Chen Feng chose plain water.
They both sat on the outdoor bench next to the parking lot.
Wu ngting casually asked, "I’m planning to find a part-ti job when I return to Xiu Zhou this ti. Do you have any suggestions?"
Chen Feng said sowhat puzzled, "Is that really necessary? All you need to do is focus on writing, and I’m sure you’ll earn quite a bit. With the ti spent on a part-ti job, you could write more and update more."
"I’ve written a few starts for my new book, but none of them have been satisfactory. So, I am still living off my savings. Therefore, I’m thinking of finding a part-ti job to help out financially. Once my new book takes off, I might stop the part-ti job, depending on the situation."
Chen Feng thought for a mont and said, "How about you beco my assistant then? I currently have two investnts: one in ngyao’s costics company, and the other is a milk tea shop in Xiu Zhou. Also, there are two stores, as you know, one here in Xiu Zhou and one on Longhua Road.
If I managed all these myself, it would be cumberso and annoying. Besides, I am now a full-ti stock trader, and due to health reasons, being bogged down by these trivial matters drains my energy. So, I really need a trustworthy person to help manage these chores. If you beco my assistant, I’ll pay you ten thousand a month, plus room and board, how’s that?"
Wu ngting asked with slight surprise, "When did you invest in a milk tea shop? How co I never heard you ntion it?"
Chen Feng thought, do I have to tell you everything?
However, Chen Feng still sincerely explained, "This milk tea shop was opened by a mistress I used to keep. I told you about her before. Later we broke up, but I had promised to invest in a milk tea shop for her, so I kept my word and invested."
Wu ngting did not expect such a response. After being montarily stunned, she asked with a complex look, "So how much did you invest in her? How many shares do you hold?"
Chen Feng didn’t hide, giving the answer, "I invested 500,000 and hold 40% of the shares."
"And how much did she invest? How many shares does she hold?" Wu ngting continued to ask.
Chen Feng was a bit embarrassed but eventually answered truthfully, "She invested 200,000 and holds 60% of the shares."
Wu ngting looked at him with a peculiar expression, sighing, "You really treat the won you keep well."
"That’s right," Chen Feng laughed, "Since they’ve been good to , I certainly won’t treat them badly. But as for this one with the milk tea shop, the reason I gave her so many shares is mainly because I value her personal ability. She cos from an ordinary family but is very ambitious, hardworking, and knows how to manage. I have great confidence that she can run this milk tea business well."
Wu ngting chuckled twice, clearly unbelieving his words.
Chen Feng continued to ask, "How about being my assistant? You don’t have to clock in daily, just be available when I need you."
"Available anyti, even at night?" Wu ngting asked with a smile.
"No, just dayti." Chen Feng hurriedly explained, "Your work is also simple, just help manage and handle my personal investnts and other life chores, you could say it’s being my financial and personal assistant. Sotis it might be a bit tiring, like going back to Lu City to check the accounts of ngyao Costics or representing at etings and events. The milk tea shop in Xiu Zhou will be the sa. In the future, I might have other investnt projects that also need you to manage."
Wu ngting thought for a while, then nodded slightly, "Alright, I can give it a try. If it doesn’t work out, you can hire soone else."
Chen Feng quickly said, "You’re a top graduate from East Sea University, how could it not work out? You surely can do it."
After smiling, Wu ngting asked, "What’s the na of your mistress who runs the milk tea shop? How old is she?"
Chen Feng imdiately corrected, "We broke up before she opened the milk tea shop, she’s no longer my mistress. Her na is Xiao Ya; she’s about twenty-three or twenty-four."
"Oh, quite young," Wu ngting casually comnted, then continued, "When we arrive in Xiu Zhou, you should take to et her."
Chen Feng was stunned for a mont, then said, "No need to rush, the shop has only been open for a few days. Let’s wait until after it’s been open a month before I take you to et her."
"Only opened a few days? Then haven’t you, the shareholder, gone to see the shop yet?"
"Uh, no, not yet."
Wu ngting couldn’t help but roll her eyes, "You’re too careless! You’ve invested 500,000 in it, and since you’re returning to Xiu Zhou, aren’t you at least going to check and inspect the accounts? I know you trust her, but since you’re no longer together, business is business, necessary supervision and preventive asures are needed. Otherwise, if you don’t manage it long-term, it may test her conscience and ethics."
"Alright, alright, we’ll check it out and inspect the accounts tomorrow, is that okay?" Chen Feng finally gave in to her.
"Why tomorrow? We’re driving to Xiu Zhou now, why not stop by the milk tea shop on the way? Isn’t that convenient?"
"OK! If you really want to go today, then today it is. Oh, right, let ask for the address first."
As Chen Feng spoke, he picked up his phone to send a WeChat ssage asking Xiao Ya for the address of the milk tea shop.
"You don’t even know where the shop is located?" Wu ngting couldn’t help but widen her eyes.
Chen Feng gave an awkward smile, "I’m just the investor, I put in the money and that’s it, I didn’t handle anything else."
Wu ngting couldn’t help but shake her head, "You really are carefree."
After Chen Feng sent the WeChat ssage, Xiao Ya didn’t reply imdiately.
After a few minutes had passed, and they had rested enough, Xiao Ya finally sent a location.
After Chen Feng forwarded it to Wu ngting, the two set off again.
They arrived in Xiu Zhou at around six o’clock in the afternoon, and following the GPS, they both drove to the milk tea shop Xiao Ya was running.
After parking the car, they walked towards the milk tea shop, seeing from afar a gathering of people at the entrance, mostly young people.
This was a comrcial street not far from East Lake, and the milk tea shop wasn’t very big, barely over ten square ters. However, the store’s decoration was stylish and eye-catching.
A promotional banner at the entrance advertised a 20% discount for the grand opening, which might be one reason for the booming business.
As Chen Feng was about to line up to buy two cups of milk tea, a woman in a work uniform with an apron and a baseball cap stepped out of the shop.
Initially, Chen Feng didn’t recognize her, but when she stood in front of him and called him "Brother Feng," he finally identified her as Xiao Ya.
However, she had changed her hairstyle to short hair and lost quite a bit of weight. Her face used to have a bit of baby fat, but now it looked much leaner. With the added influence of the baseball cap and apron, plus the dim light, it was quite normal that Chen Feng didn’t recognize her at first glance.
