Chen Feng sits with Sun Xiaorui on his left and Wu ngting on his right, while Qin Xiaorou sits across from him.
These past few days, Qin Xiaorou keeps sending him ssages on WeChat, saying that she’s going abroad in the next couple of days. Yesterday, she even sent him several video call invitations, which Chen Feng had to reply to.
And so, they arranged to et at Fuman Building for a farewell dinner before she goes abroad.
It’s quite clear that when Qin Xiaorou saw Chen Feng bringing two other won to the dinner, she wasn’t too happy. Her face showed displeasure.
"Little Rou, let introduce you to these two sisters: this is Wu ngting, my sworn sister, and this is Sun Xiaorui, my friend."
Once they sat down and ordered food, Chen Feng formally introduced them to Qin Xiaorou.
Qin Xiaorou glanced at Wu ngting and Sun Xiaorui, pursed her lips slightly, and asked, "Which one is your girlfriend? Could it be both?"
This kid still speaks so straightforwardly.
Chen Feng was a bit used to it, but Wu ngting and Sun Xiaorui clearly weren’t. Even though Chen Feng had warned them beforehand that Qin Xiaorou ca from a divorced family, was a troubleso youth, and spoke rather bluntly, without much politeness.

"Little sister, talking like this isn’t very nice." Wu ngting laughed and said to Qin Xiaorou, "You’re not that young anymore, so try to speak a bit more elegantly when talking to others, after all, you’re also a lady."
Qin Xiaorou gave her a sideways glance, smirked slightly, and said dismissively, "Who says girls have to speak elegantly? Besides, I didn’t say anything rude just now. Do you think using the term ’girlfriend’ isn’t elegant? ’Girlfriend’ is a slang term referring to a girl you’re dating. You’re an adult; surely you understand this slang?"
Wu ngting was montarily speechless. She couldn’t very well say that ’girlfriend’ actually refers to sothing inappropriate, which would be quite disrespectful to won.
Seeing Qin Xiaorou like this, Chen Feng also felt a headache, but knowing she’s going abroad soon, perhaps never or rarely to be seen again, he changed the subject and asked, "You said you’re leaving the next couple of days, exactly which day is it?"
Qin Xiaorou, upon being asked, indeed shifted her attention and said sowhat gloomily, "The day after tomorrow, my mom has already bought the ticket."
"Is your mom going with you?"
"No, I’m going alone. My dad will pick up at the airport."
Chen Feng was surprised: "You’re so young, is your mom really comfortable with you going alone?"
"What’s there to worry about? It’s not my first ti going to the Beautiful Country. I’ve been spending my sumrs there every year recently, enjoying the cooler climate and not needing air conditioning, it’s very comfortable."
"Which city?"
"Los Angeles."
"Well, that’s nice. Have you been to Hollywood?"
"I’ve been there, but it’s nothing special. Honestly, it doesn’t seem as bustling as our Xiu Zhou. It’s like one of our bigger towns here."
The three laughed upon hearing that.
"Will you be living there permanently after this trip? Are you coming back for the holidays?"
"I can’t say for sure. I’ll be attending high school there and might go to college there as well. Of course, if I can’t get into a good college there, I might co back to study in the dostic universities. To attend prestigious schools both here and abroad, I might have to take up Beautiful Country nationality, and it’s easier for dostic students to get into colleges than foreign ones. Being a foreign student returning might also make it easy for to get into top dostic universities."
All three listening were quite taken aback.
"Is there really such a strategy? Surely not?" Chen Feng expressed so doubt.
"What reason do I have to lie to you? Is there any need to deceive you?" Qin Xiaorou said with a contemptuous look, "It just shows you’re ignorant and unaware of such matters. You hardly have the opportunity to go abroad, let alone immigrate or change nationality."
Wu ngting said, "I’ve heard about it before, but whether it’s true, I don’t know."
"Of course, it’s true." Qin Xiaorou gave Wu ngting a slightly dissatisfied glance, "My cousin and another friend’s son went through this process. You’ve heard of college entrance exam migrants, right? So parents moved their kids to other provinces, now those with ans move them abroad. It was easy a few years ago, foreign citizenship with decent Chinese skills could get you admission without exams. It’s stricter now; dostic prestigious schools require two years of foreign residence. I’ll definitely have to live abroad for two or three years."
Chen Feng had to admit that he previously didn’t know such strategies; evidently, his forr circle had been oblivious to this.
This indeed was an eye-opener.
However, Wu ngting still said, "That might be the case now, but who knows how dostic policies will change in two or three years. I think you still need to study hard. With good grades, you can attend good universities anywhere."
"Do I even need you to tell ?" Qin Xiaorou retorted unreservedly, leaving Wu ngting feeling sowhat uncomfortable.
Indeed, she’s without manners, a wild young girl!
Chen Feng found it amusing yet a bit frustrating, and glared at Qin Xiaorou, saying, "Little Rou, talking to people like this won’t earn you friends."
Qin Xiaorou glanced at Wu ngting’s displeased face, smirked slightly, and eventually said to Wu ngting, "I’m sorry, I just speak straightforwardly and honestly."
Wu ngting felt speechless and forced out a faint smile, saying, "It’s fine."
The matter was considered settled, and Wu ngting didn’t dare join the conversation. She imitated Sun Xiaorui by just listening and watching without speaking.
Chen Feng couldn’t dwell on it and continued asking, "Do you prefer to study in dostic or foreign universities?"
"I’m indifferent; I’ll see when the ti cos. I’d rather not study at all — how great would that freedom be? But I know it’s impossible. To live a good and enjoyable life, a reputable university degree is probably necessary."
Chen Feng laughed and praised, "For soone so young to have such awareness is really impressive."
"I’m not young!" Qin Xiaorou retorted, "I consider you a friend, but if you treat like a child, it becos aningless."
Chen Feng was speechless, though she wasn’t wrong. They could barely be considered friends.
Seeing she’s about to go abroad, Chen Feng didn’t argue the point and instead asked, "How’s your English? Can you interact well with the locals over there?"
"It’s okay. I’m capable of daily communication, especially since I’ve been learning since a young age."
"Uh, forget I asked."
She attends an international school with bilingual teaching, even direct foreign language instruction, since childhood; her language skills are surely not lacking, possibly better than he’d imagined.
"You haven’t answered my question earlier. What’s the actual relationship between you and the two of them?"
