Now reading: Chapter 437 - 249 Meeting Liu Ying’s Parents2 from After my divorce, I started to have good luck, a Drama novel by Anpingtai.

This old gentleman was fairly diligent at his job. Chen Feng drove over and was stopped right away, but once Chen Feng reported the unit number and casually handed him a large red note, the old man waved him through.

The car smoothly arrived underneath Unit Seven and parked. Then Chen Feng sent Liu Ying a WeChat ssage to let her know he was downstairs at her building.

Liu Ying replied instantly: [Coming down right now]

She really was quick about it; in less than a minute, Liu Ying ca clicking down, wearing slippers. She was dressed casually today, not wearing anything special, and only had light makeup on her face.

Chen Feng imdiately got out of the car carrying the gift bag, and with a smile, he asked her, "Are your parents already waiting for ?"

Liu Ying gave a slightly embarrassed smile and said, "I’ve shown them your photo, and they’re quite pleased with your looks. Added to the fact that we were college classmates, they’re very supportive. Their main concern now is your character and... your financial status. If they ask whether you have a car or a house, or even how much you have saved, please don’t get upset."

Chen Feng was indifferent, saying, "It’s perfectly reasonable for them to ask such things; I won’t get angry."

"Then I’m relieved. Thank you so much for this. You have no idea how much my parents have been pressuring to marry; I almost beca reclusive several tis and considered moving out. Now with you, I can finally have so relief."

"As long as you’re willing."

Chen Feng behaved in a very gentlemanly manner.

Liu Ying nodded appreciatively and said, "You really are charming this way."

"All right, let’s head up quickly. Your parents are waiting."

Chen Feng reminded.

"Oh, right. My parents have been waiting since early morning. Let take you upstairs."

Liu Ying ca back to her senses and led Chen Feng upstairs.

The building was six floors in total, without an elevator, and her family lived on the third floor, which was relatively low.

The front door was half-open. Liu Ying led the way inside, calling out, "Dad, Mom, Chen Feng is here."

Chen Feng followed her into the entryway and saw Liu Ying’s parents sitting on the sofa.

Mr. Liu wore glasses, his hair ticulously grood, presenting the image of an old intellectual. Mrs. Liu was lean, but had a certain refined air about her.

"Hello Uncle, Auntie, I’m Chen Feng."

Chen Feng greeted them with a smile.

"Hello, hello, co in and sit." Mrs. Liu stood up, walking over warmly to greet him.

Mr. Liu continued sitting in a composed manner, after a brief stern scrutiny of Chen Feng, nodded to him slightly.

"Okay."

Chen Feng agreed, took off his shoes, accepted the slippers Liu Ying handed him, and entered the living room.

"Auntie, it’s my first ti visiting, so I’m not sure what you like. I just randomly bought two wild ginseng from Huichun Hall. If you two need them, you can use them to cook sothing."

"Oh, wild ginseng? That’s too expensive! We can’t accept it." Mrs. Liu imdiately declined.

Liu Ying knew very well about Chen Feng’s financial status, though slightly surprised at such a generous gesture, wasn’t too shocked.

"Auntie, these two wild ginsengs are the most common type, not very expensive. Just accept them."

Mrs. Liu hesitated, glancing at Liu Ying.

"Mom, just take them." Liu Ying felt it was no big deal, so Mrs. Liu accepted them.

"Co, sit here." This ti, Mr. Liu finally stood up from the sofa, gesturing for Chen Feng to co over.

Chen Feng, not at all nervous, simply nodded and smiled at Mr. Liu, then boldly sat down beside him.

"I heard from Little Ying that you’re from Lu City, right? Speaking of which, I could say I’m half a Lu City native, since my mother’s family moved here from Lu City back then."

"Yes, I am from Lin Nan, Lu City."

"Lin Nan, huh? I have so impression of it, though I’ve never been there. I’ve visited Lu City and Qingyue a few tis."

Mr. Liu was quite talkative; soon he was speaking about Lu City, Xiu Zhou, and his past experiences.

Through his conversation, Chen Feng also learned that he was indeed an old intellectual, currently working at the cultural departnt, still a leader there. He was almost sixty, just a few years from retirent. Mrs. Liu was a teacher who retired two years early due to health issues.

It turns out the couple were both old intellectuals, but it’s a pity their daughter, Liu Ying, isn’t much of anything now. However, Liu Ying can be considered from a scholarly family.

Her parents, though not extrely wealthy, were fairly prestigious. Their jobs were decent, guaranteeing no worries about healthcare and retirent in the future. And having only such a beautiful daughter, even if she were divorced, many would still pursue her.

"I heard Little Ying say that you trade stocks for a living now; is that right? Aren’t you considering switching to more formal work or business ventures besides stock trading?"

After the chat, Mr. Liu naturally broached a more practical question, and thanks to the prior exchange, it didn’t feel abrupt.

Facing Mr. Liu’s question, Chen Feng answered candidly, "I’ve considered it. I’m currently planning to acquire a film company and venture into film investnt and production business."

Upon hearing this, the three mbers of the Liu family were taken aback. They truly didn’t expect such an answer from Chen Feng. Film companies and film investnts, such topics really didn’t seem connected with him.

"Chen Feng, are you serious, or is this a joke? How did you suddenly think of acquiring a film company, and actually investing in film production? Do you understand this field?"

Liu Ying voiced the question the family had in mind.

Chen Feng shook his head and said, "Of course, I’m serious. I’m quite interested in this area now and want to give it a shot."

"Is it just a hobby?" Liu Ying quickly expressed her concern, advising, "It seems you really don’t understand this too well, so I’d advise you not to jump in rashly, or you risk getting taken advantage of or losing money. Film investnts and productions often involve tens of millions or even billions, if you lose, it’s utterly unrecoverable."

"How can I know if I’ll lose without trying it first? Besides, if I lose, then I lose; I can afford it." Chen Feng said nonchalantly.

"Can you really afford to lose billions?" Liu Ying asked with mock skepticism.

Chen Feng simply smiled and said, "Initially, I definitely won’t go for large investnts. I’ll start with small-scale projects."

Mr. Liu, upon hearing this, didn’t join in the advice but instead remarked philosophically, "Since you’ve made up your mind, go ahead and give it a try. In recent years, our country’s economy has been developing well, the society is prosperous and stable, leading to a huge cultural and entertainnt market. Film and TV are the public’s favorite entertainnt forms. I am quite optimistic about this industry. If you can do well in it, you can indeed make a lot of money."
