Wu ng Ting was almost asleep when the noise woke her up—and she wasn’t happy about it.
Chen Feng suddenly rose from the bed and shouted angrily, "Who is it?"
"Open up! Police inspection!"
A gruff voice ca from outside the door.
Chen Feng was startled and felt a bit of fear.
He had been close to giving in to temptation, but thankfully, he had resisted.
After all, he was a decent person.
Otherwise, being caught in the act would definitely lead to detention.
Chen Feng didn’t dare delay and hurried to open the door.
Of course, before opening, he checked through the peephole and, as expected, saw two uniford n standing there.
So, Chen Feng opened the door.
The two in uniform pushed the door and entered, the heavier one rushing into the room first, scanning left and right before checking another small room and the bathroom, but found no one.
Eventually, the heavyset officer, not satisfied, walked over to the window to check. Hotel windows were mostly locked and couldn’t open wide.
Besides, this was the seventh floor; it wasn’t possible to hide outside the window.
The heavyset officer’s expression turned disappointed and even a bit angry as he glared at Chen Feng.
"We received a report claiming that there’s prostitution in this room. Did you hide soone?"
Seeing his previous actions and his current facial expressions and tone, Chen Feng knew sothing fishy was going on.
He hardened his face and said, "The room is this big, where could I hide soone? Don’t wrongly accuse people. Also, you said you’re police, can you show your badges? And why aren’t you wearing body caras?"
The two n’s expressions slightly changed upon hearing this.
The other one imdiately took out a black badge from his pocket, flashed it in front of Chen Feng, and then said sternly, "I hope you cooperate with our investigation. First, hand over your ID so I can record it."
The heavier officer then scolded, "Behave yourself! You are currently a suspect in a prostitution case, and we have the right to detain you for twenty-four hours."
"Hurry up, your ID," the other one also urged sternly.
Chen Feng felt increasingly that sothing was off about them. The uniforms seed real, but it was difficult to associate these two, with their deanor and performance, with real police officers.
"Alright. My ID is in my suitcase. I’ll get it."
After saying that, Chen Feng turned towards the suitcase and simultaneously took out his phone from his pocket.
"What are you doing with your phone?" the heavyset officer demanded.

The heavyset officer was at a loss for words.
The other officer gave the heavy one a discreet glare, then said to Chen Feng, "You better behave. I’m asking you, did you get a warning beforehand and let the lady leave early?"
"This room has only ever had in it. It seems you were tricked by the person who reported this."
Chen Feng responded nonchalantly while fiddling with his phone, intending to dial 110.
Just then, there was a sudden noise at the door, followed by a shout, "Police inspection, please cooperate."
Chen Feng and the two n turned to look, and saw three police officers entering, one of whom was a woman.
They ca around the corner into the doorway and were all taken aback by the scene in the room.
"Where are you from?" one of the tall male officers asked, puzzled.
"We... we... are from Yu Zhou District."
"Yu Zhou District? What are you doing here? Why didn’t you notify us in advance?"
The female officer suddenly said, "Captain, there’s sothing wrong with their badge numbers."
Upon hearing this, Chen Feng imdiately ran over to stand next to the three officers and said, "I thought there was sothing wrong with these two as well. They said they were here for an inspection and accused of prostitution, even threatening to detain ."
The female officer stared coldly at the now panicking n in uniform and said, "They claim to be from Yu Zhou District, but the badge numbers show one is from Hui Province, the other from Gui Province."
Chen Feng chuckled upon hearing this and said, "I told you two to at least impersonate police officers professionally. Using uniforms and badge numbers from different provinces, what are you playing at? So inter-provincial cooperative operation to catch prostitutes?"
The two male officers couldn’t help but laugh.
"That’s true. Do you know the cri of impersonating a police officer? That’s enough, get down and hold your heads."
The tall officer gave a stern shout, and the two fake officers imdiately shivered all over, showing long faces and obediently squatting down to hold their heads.
Another younger officer promptly took handcuffs and cuffed them both.
The tall officer walked up to Chen Feng and extended his hand, "Thanks for your cooperation. We need to ask you to co to the station with us to make a statent."
"Sure. I should be thanking you. If it wasn’t for your tily arrival, I would definitely have been extorted."
Chen Feng sincerely thanked him.
The true intentions of the two fake officers were not hard to guess.
They were likely attempting a typical scam— had Chen Feng accepted the offer over the phone earlier, they would have barged in as police and then extorted money from him.
Chen Feng was just fortunate this ti— either their coordination failed, or they mistook the room.
More importantly, these two impersonators had the misfortune of running into real officers and got caught red-handed.
Otherwise, they obviously intended to continue their extortion sche.
Thus, Chen Feng followed the three real officers to the police station to make his statent.
After finishing, Chen Feng was just walking out of the room towards the main hall when he ca face to face with Wu ngting and Lin Wan, who were being led by a female officer inside.
Both Chen Feng and the won saw each other at the sa ti.
All three of them opened their mouths in surprise, unable to speak for a mont.

Chen Feng cursed inwardly.
It was beyond his wildest dreams to encounter them here.
Likewise, they were equally shocked.
Because it was simply unbelievable and too coincidental!
"What’s going on?" the female police officer asked when she saw the two won stop and look towards Chen Feng.

Lin Wan regained her composure and spoke with a complex expression.
She had only half-believed what Wu ngting had said about fate before, but now, to et again in such a place, wouldn’t you say it was unexpected? Miraculous?
If this wasn’t fate, what was?
Chen Feng also regained his composure, although he wanted to avoid seeing them, encountering them here ant he definitely had to ask.
"Why are you here? Didn’t you just get back?"
Chen Feng stepped forward a few paces and asked with concern.
