Zhang Kewei had been single for several years. After getting so advice from Chen Feng, he suddenly had an epiphany, felt enlightened, and was eager to prepare to post job ads in newspapers and online.
So, Chen Feng didn’t chat with him for too long. After about half an hour, the two finished their tea and left the teahouse, going their separate ways.
Of course, the tea bill was paid by Zhang Kewei, who had received the advice. Chen Feng was quite pleased with this.
Money wasn’t the issue; it was more about the attitude.
After casually strolling around nearby for a while, Chen Feng drove back to No. 8 Villa, his ho.
By then, the housekeeper, Sister Xue, had almost finished cooking, and Chen Feng watched TV in the living room.
Right around noon, Sun and Wu, the two won, returned ho from work on ti.
The three of them happily ate together, and usually at this ti, if there was sothing interesting or important happening at the company, they would tell Chen Feng about it.
However, as the company operations beca more standardized and its developnt improved, there was not much to talk about. Chen Feng, being laid-back by nature, didn’t like listening to trivial matters at the company, so they talked less.
In fact, today, Wu ngting most wanted to talk to Chen Feng about going to his hotown to celebrate his aunt’s birthday.
Unfortunately, with Sun Xiaorui present, she didn’t bring it up, to avoid showing off in front of her.
Last night, she and Chen Feng discussed this matter while Sun Xiaorui was there. It was awkward, and she eventually excused herself to leave.
Therefore, during this al, the three mainly chatted about current news and gossip.
After finishing lunch, Sun Xiaorui went upstairs for a nap as she didn’t sleep well the previous night, giving Wu ngting a chance to speak with Chen Feng alone.
"Brother, is it really okay if I go to your aunt’s birthday without bringing a gift?"
Yesterday, she discussed separately bringing a gift with Chen Feng, but he assured her there was no need. They would attend together, and his gift would count as theirs since they would be appearing as a couple.
Yet, Wu ngting still felt it was inappropriate to go empty-handed.
"Don’t overthink it. If I say there’s no need, there’s no need. Unless you go as just my friend and not as my girlfriend; then you could bring a gift separately."
"Of course not," Wu ngting quickly retorted. "Your mom asked to go with you as your girlfriend to give you and her so face in front of the relatives. We must listen to her."
"Then stop overthinking it. In the afternoon, go back to my hotown peacefully with and pretend to be my girlfriend. My relatives are quite nice. Just follow , greet those who should be greeted, and then just sit and eat the food calmly. We’ll leave after eating."
"Alright, I’ll listen to you." Wu ngting nodded with a smile, looking very happy.
Chen Feng didn’t chat with Wu ngting downstairs for too long either, as they had a three to four-hour drive back ho in the afternoon. Chen Feng also planned to rest a bit upstairs.
Instead of returning to his bedroom, Chen Feng went to the exercise room to ditate.
The ti flew by during ditation, and when he opened his eyes, it was already half-past one in the afternoon.
Walking out from the exercise room to the bedroom, he noticed that Sun Xiaorui was no longer there, so he grabbed his already packed suitcase and headed downstairs.
In the living room, only Wu ngting was there, sitting on the sofa watching TV, with a suitcase beside her.
"Where’s Little Rui? Did she go to work?" Chen Feng asked casually.
"Yes, she went to work." Wu ngting replied, then added with a hint of an unspoken aning, "Actually, she wanted to go too, but it seems your mom doesn’t really like her. It’s quite a pity."
Chen Feng remained calm and smiled, saying, "Then how about I talk to my mom and let her go as well? We can take her to my aunt’s and introduce both of you as my girlfriends."
Wu ngting wasn’t angry; she smiled and said, "Sure, go ahead and talk to your mom."
Chen Feng was montarily speechless. If he really did that, his parents would definitely not let him off easily.
His parents have always been honest and straightforward people, and they wouldn’t think it’s great or successful for their son to have two won by his side. They’d think he had gone astray and would need a good talking-to to correct him.
"Alright. Let’s head out."
Chen Feng wisely ended this topic, pulled his suitcase, and led the way out.
Wu ngting chuckled, turned off the TV, picked up her suitcase, and followed behind Chen Feng.
The car left Red Villa Bay, first going to a gas station for a fill-up, then heading directly onto the highway.
With the company of a beauty like Wu ngting, chatting and laughing along the way, driving didn’t seem boring at all.
Wu ngting was also very considerate, avoiding any topics that might make Chen Feng uncomfortable. Instead, she talked about all sorts of subjects, be it general chatting, company matters, travel and food, or news and gossip. There was plenty to discuss.
Chen Feng didn’t drive very fast, and with the chatting distraction with Wu ngting and a rest stop at a service area, it took them four and a half hours to reach Lu City.
By then, it was already six in the evening, and the sky began to darken.
According to Wu ngting’s original plan, she intended to go directly to Lin Nan County with Chen Feng, effectively passing by her ho without stopping. After all, she hadn’t told her parents about returning this ti.
However, Chen Feng used the excuse of needing to buy gifts in the city, and by the ti they’d finish shopping, it would already be dark. It would be unsafe to drive at night, so he planned to stay in the city for the night.
Moreover, he also suggested to Wu ngting that since they were near her ho, she should drop by to see her parents.
Wu ngting wasn’t foolish; she imdiately thought of Lin Yujiao, who has a shop in the city, and directly asked, "Are you going to see Yujiao? Planning to stay at her place overnight?"
Feeling slightly awkward, Chen Feng nonetheless admitted, "Yes, we haven’t t for a long ti, so I’ll see her while I’m back."
Upon this confirmation, Wu ngting did feel a bit jealous but didn’t say anything out loud.
After all, she already knew about him and Lin Yujiao. Even live-in Sun Xiaorui was tolerant; logically, she could also tolerate Lin Yujiao.
Everything was because Chen Feng had a terminal illness.
Moreover, they already had an agreent beforehand, making it harder for Wu ngting to say anything now, in order to avoid conflicts with Chen Feng, which might invalidate their prior six-month promise.
For now, she’d put up with it, and half a year would pass quickly. They were already more than a month in.
Lin Yujiao had no choice but to bear with it as well; otherwise, reaching a culmination with Chen Feng wouldn’t be possible.
"Alright then. I’ll go with you to buy gifts, and then you can drop ho." Wu ngting said calmly.
"Sure." Chen Feng secretly breathed a sigh of relief and agreed quickly.
Thus, under Wu ngting’s guidance, they first went to a nearby mall to buy gifts.
These gifts weren’t for his aunt but for his family back ho since he hadn’t returned for a while. Of course, he needed to bring so gifts. Leaving aside his parents, he couldn’t skip bringing gifts for his two little nieces.
