When Chen Feng went downstairs to pay the bill shortly after, he was told that it had already been settled. Though the two of them together only owed 36 yuan, Zhang Kewei’s gesture still gave Chen Feng a warm feeling.

He sauntered out toward the parking area but hadn’t gone far when he faintly sensed soone following him, and a shiver ran through his heart.

He didn’t look back but imdiately quickened his pace; sure enough, the person tracking him also hastened their steps.

Chen Feng suddenly stopped, pretending to tie his shoelace. Then he saw two people behind him, indistinctly the sa pair who had tried to corner him previously.

It seed they had co for him again, but the street was bustling, with a constant stream of people, and the roadside barriers made it difficult to park. Even if they wanted to abduct him, it wasn’t convenient. So, they could only follow for now, without making a move.

Chen Feng felt sowhat reassured by this.

These two must have been sent by Zhang Jingwen, undoubtedly after the photos he took last ti.

Chen Feng felt a bit helpless about this.

Now that Zhang Jingwen was already a big celebrity and had a strong background, if she really wanted to co after him, he temporarily lacked robust counterasures. The photos might not be of much use when it really mattered.

It seed his options were either to report to the police or to escape before they could catch him.

However, reporting might not be effective since they hadn’t attacked him yet, making it impossible to prove they intended to abduct him. And going through the police procedure could also be a hassle.

So, it might be better to seize an opportunity to run away just like last ti.

With these thoughts, Chen Feng pretended to have finished tying his shoelaces, stood back up, and continued walking.

The two behind him noticeably accelerated their pace, shortening the distance between them.

Chen Feng felt them closing in and was about to start running when he saw three people approaching him nacingly.

Leading the way was a man with a crew cut, about six feet tall, solidly built, with a fierce look on his face. Despite it being November, he was wearing only an overcoat with a T-shirt, his neck exposed, adorned with a thick gold chain.

Following him were two others: one was a bald, short and fat; the other well-built with pronounced pectoral muscles, clearly soone who lifted weights.

Seeing that all three were fixing their gaze on him, Chen Feng inwardly cursed his luck.

They had him surrounded, front and back. Five people had co for him; was this really necessary?

Chen Feng couldn’t help but stop in his tracks, contemplating whether he should risk crossing the road by vaulting over the roadside fence when the man with the big gold chain suddenly quickened his steps. A few paces away, he pointed at Chen Feng and asked loudly, "Aren’t you Chen Feng?"

Chen Feng quickly shook his head, "No, I’m not."

The man with the gold chain paused, sowhat perplexed, and quickly pulled out his phone from his pocket. After taking a glance, he looked at Chen Feng again and suddenly flew into a rage, "Shit! You’re obviously Chen Feng."

By then, the two who had been following stopped and didn’t approach any closer.

Chen Feng suddenly realized a potential opportunity and, without changing his expression, shook his head to the man with the gold chain, "I’m really not Chen Feng. If you don’t believe , you can ask these two friends of mine."

After speaking, Chen Feng pointed at the two following him: a bald man in his thirties and a muscular young man in his early twenties.

Having said that, Chen Feng turned and walked toward the two obviously confused n.

Amidst their extraordinarily surprised expressions, Chen Feng even went so far as to casually put his arm around their shoulders.

"Shit! You’re asking your friends? Do you think I’m an idiot? Get him!"

The man with the gold chain was decisive, not into talking, and charged straight at Chen Feng and his unsuspecting "companions."

Anticipating this, as the gold chain man charged, Chen Feng pushed the two n he was holding towards him and turned to run, shouting as he went, "You guys wait here, I’ll go call for help."

The two baffled trackers finally snapped back to reality, and the balding middle-aged man yelled, "Misunderstanding! Misunderstanding! We’re not his friends, we’re just passing by."

"Yeah, we’re just passing by. We don’t know him."

"Motherfucker! You think I’m an idiot? If you’re not friends, why didn’t you say so before running away? Now you’re saying it?"

The guy with the thick gold chain had astonishing fighting abilities, and he didn’t hesitate to lay down a ruthless punch and kick that quickly floored the two n.

While the two tried to argue their case, they got another beating.

The buff young guy’s anger ter maxed out instantly, and he pulled a dagger from his waist and stabbed it right into the thick gold chain wearer’s calf.

With a painful scream, the man with the thick gold chain fell to the ground, blood gushing from his leg.

Seeing this, the buff guy and the balding middle-aged man scrambled to their feet in fright and made a panicked escape. In his blind haste, the buff guy flipped over the guardrail only to be hit by a passing sedan, flying across and landing a dozen ters away.

The two underlings who were originally sent to follow Chen Feng could only hurriedly return, they propped up the guy with the thick gold chain and made a hasty retreat.

...

Chen Feng ran a few hundred ters in one breath and stopped when he felt there was no one chasing him anymore.

After catching his breath, he imdiately took out his phone and dialed Wang Yuee’s number.

The phone rang for a while before it was finally answered.

"What do you want?" Wang Yuee clearly had his number saved, so she sounded rather hostile from the outset.

"What do you think?" Chen Feng was, of course, furious by this point. He admitted his wrongdoing in the last incident and had vowed not to leak those photos, yet they still saw fit to track him down and even attempt to abduct him.

Wang Yuee’s tone was stern as she replied, "Chen Feng, I don’t understand what you an. If you’re trying to extort sothing from , I think you’ve got the wrong person, we will not give in to any form of extortion."

Hearing this, Chen Feng beca even more infuriated and cursed out loud, "Are you fucking playing dumb? Fine, I’ll go public with Zhang Jingwen’s intimate photos right now."

"Wait, wait!" Wang Yuee quickly intervened, softening her voice, "What exactly happened? I really don’t know why you’re so angry."

"Fine, I was just followed and almost got kidnapped. Don’t tell those people weren’t sent by you."

"That... I really didn’t know. Hold on, let check with Jingwen. If it was her doing, I... I will definitely make her apologize to you. But, I don’t think it was her. Can you give so ti to find out?"

Chen Feng frowned at this response, but he said, "Alright. I’ll give you one chance. Ten minutes. If I don’t get an explanation in ten minutes, I’ll give you one."

After hanging up, Chen Feng sat down by a flowerbed on the side of the road.

About five minutes later, Wang Yuee called back.

"I’m really sorry! I apologize on behalf of Jingwen. She did send people to find you, but she said it was only to beat you up and vent her anger because of how you made her fall at the airport leading to embarrassnt all over the world, to the point where she’s felt too ashad to show her face for days. So, she paid soone to beat you up, but there was no tracking or kidnapping or anything like that."

Hearing her explanation, Chen Feng was imdiately puzzled. He had assud the balding middle-aged man and the buff young guy were hired by them, but now, according to her, it seed that the three people with the thick gold chains were the ones Zhang Jingwen had sent.

Who on earth had sent the balding duo then?

"Chen Feng, I’m really very sorry! How about this as compensation, would you accept ten thousand yuan for the distress caused?"

"Hmph! Ten thousand, that’s quite a lot!" Chen Feng said disdainfully, "I could just have soone beat her up too, then pay her twenty thousand yuan for distress, how’s that?"

"Mr. Chen, you’re a man, you should be a little understanding of her. Although it was a coincidence last ti, as a man you did take advantage of her and took those photos. Surely you are at fault in this matter. So, it’s normal for her to feel resentful. Plus, you caused her fall at the airport, and now it’s been covered by dia all over the world. She feels humiliated."
