The next morning, Chen Feng was woken up by his phone alarm.
By this ti, it was already 8 o’clock in the morning, and after hurriedly washing up, he drove to Wu ngting’s place.
This was a mid-range residential area with two bedrooms and one living room, renting for four thousand a month.
It was quite far from the magazine company where Wu ngting was working, requiring over half an hour’s drive every day.
Furthermore, as the landlord wanted to increase the rent, the two of them had looked for another house.
The moving company had already been called, and by the ti Chen Feng arrived, they were already moving.
Thus, in reality, asking Chen Feng to co was not to have him physically move items; it was more about giving them so moral support.
After all, it was just the two won, and with the moving company’s driver and two movers all being n, the two beauties naturally felt at a disadvantage and lacked a sense of security.
With Chen Feng standing by their side, the two movers, who were in their thirties or forties, no longer ogled them with lecherous glances from ti to ti.
Their belongings weren’t many and were already packed in cardboard and plastic boxes beforehand.
The two movers worked quickly. The major items were two mattresses that they had bought themselves.
Even so, it took less than half an hour to load everything onto the small truck.
Actually, both of them had their own cars and could’ve moved everything slowly by themselves.
The main reason for hiring the moving company was those two beds. They had each spent over two thousand on them, and having slept on them for less than a year, they certainly couldn’t let the landlord or future tenants profit from them.
So more valuable and personal items had already been loaded into their respective cars.
Chen Feng didn’t lift a finger the whole ti, just supervising and making small talk with them.
Together with the moving company’s truck, a total of four cars headed to their newly rented apartnt.
What surprised Chen Feng was that their new place was very close to the villa he was renting, on the sa street, just about a hundred ters away.
They moved to an apartnt complex that was built over a decade ago, the houses still looked relatively new, also with two bedrooms and one living room, located on the 9th floor. They had co here a few days earlier to clean, and even so of the kitchen appliances were already set up.
After the movers brought everything upstairs, they began to get busy, mainly unpacking the cardboard and plastic boxes.
Once they had organized and arranged everything, Chen Feng finally found sothing to do helping them set up the two beds.
The mattresses were quite heavy, but it was easy with three people lifting them.
Chen Feng wasn’t needed for anything else.
After another fifteen minutes, the two won finally had their new ho arranged.
"All done, let’s start preparing the al, to celebrate our new ho," Lin Wan announced loudly.
"OK, you go ahead. I’ll rest for a bit," said Wu ngting, not shy to push Lin Wan into the kitchen. She herself sat down next to Chen Feng on the living room sofa.
"Have you guys bought groceries?" Chen Feng asked, sowhat curiously.
Wu ngting smiled and nodded, "We bought them last night, they’re all in the kitchen fridge."
Chen Feng praised, "You guys are really efficient."
"We could’ve moved earlier, but the previous landlord was terrible. So, we ended up postponing until the last day."
"Landlords who suddenly raise the rent are indeed terrible," Chen Feng agreed and then asked, "The neighborhood here is nice, and not far from East Lake. The rent shouldn’t be cheap, right?"
"Yes, the rent is five thousand a month," Wu ngting sighed, "A third of my monthly salary goes to rent, it’s like working for the landlord."
Chen Feng could understand this, believing that many workers felt the sa way—working hard to earn money, while landlords just need to collect rent from their properties, living a much more comfortable and carefree life than the workers.
Chen Feng consoled, "Once you earn more, you can buy your own place."
Wu ngting gave a bitter smile and shook her head, "I definitely can’t. Waner might have a chance if she becos a popular livestream host. She could buy a house within a year. I’m on a fixed salary, I don’t even know when I’ll be able to save up enough for a down paynt."
"You’re an editor, so you must be good at writing. Have you thought about publishing your own articles or novels? If they take off, it can be quite profitable."
Wu ngting replied a bit shyly, "I actually have written articles and novels. So have been published in our magazine, and others in different papers and magazines. I used to write novels too, but they were not very successful. I haven’t written much lately because of work."
"Wow, so you’re actually a writer. My apologies for my ignorance!"
Chen Feng looked at her with new respect.
In fact, he had studied science in college, but deep down, he always had a passion for art and literature.
He was naturally fascinated by those who excelled in literature and art, especially won. The reason he had fallen for Shen Lin was not only because she was beautiful but also because of her artistic temperant.
She was a public relations officer at her job and occasionally got to publish a few short articles in newspapers and magazines.
Chen Feng had not expected Wu ngting to also possess such artistic traits, which undoubtedly increased her appeal to him.
Unfortunately, for a truly good girl like Wu ngting, who was also from his hotown, Chen Feng couldn’t just pursue her openly, let alone talk about marriage.
