"No!"
Luo Xiaoqian cried out in shock, abruptly waking from her nightmare.
"Don’t be afraid, I’m here!"
The deep voice plunged directly into her ears. Her eyes had not yet regained focus when she was already pulled into a wide and warm embrace, the familiar scent of chocolate overwhelming her senses.
Without looking, she knew it was Leng Zimo.
From the crook of his arm, she could see the pale green walls and so dical equipnt—it must be a hospital.
She only vaguely rembered Lu Hao chasing her, then it seed she had fallen, and thereafter she rembered nothing. Had he brought her to the hospital?
Then, had Lu Hao already...?
A sudden tightness gripped her heart, and she wrenched herself free from his embrace.
Catching the panicked expression on her small face, Leng Zimo’s frown deepened.
"Is it that sothing is not feeling right?"
His voice could hardly be called gentle; however, compared with the haughty Tyrant of his daily deanor, this was already much softer.
"I want to be alone for a while!" Luo Xiaoqian said softly, hugging her arms.
Just then, the phone on the table started to vibrate. Leng Zimo took it out, glanced at the number, and walked out the door.
Watching him leave, she cautiously lifted the thin blanket covering her, and with the hand not connected to an IV needle, she checked her pants under the patient gown. Seeing the white underwear she had changed into last night, she felt sowhat relieved.
Her body showed no aberrations, and her undergarnts were intact. Lu Hao... probably hadn’t, had he...?
The door was pushed open.
Hearing the noise, she quickly averted her gaze and pulled the blanket back in place.
Leng Zimo saw her little movents as he walked back to the bedside; her face flushed, she rely bowed her head, not daring to look at him.
"Was it you who brought to the hospital?"
"Yes!"
His response, as always, was to the point.
A normal person at this ti would explain what happened, wouldn’t they? Why did he dismiss her with just a "yes"?
"Where did you find ?" Luo Xiaoqian asked quietly. After all, she had been unconscious at the ti and was still uneasy.
Just thinking about the possibility of Lu Hao having touched her made her feel nauseated.
Leng Zimo looked down at her, his gaze sweeping over her fingers tightly clutching the sheets. He suddenly understood what she was worried about.
"No!"
No?
Luo Xiaoqian didn’t understand. "What do you an, ’no’?"
Leng Zimo raised his eyebrows but did not get angry. Instead, he patiently explained, "I heard you calling for help, and I rushed over!"
Luo Xiaoqian was startled, then realized he was trying to tell her she had not been violated by Lu Hao.
This man was indeed very astute, figuring out her thoughts at a glance.
But how did he happen to be near her house?
She frowned unhappily, "Have you been following ?"
Following her?
Leng Zimo’s brows that had just relaxed knitted again, "Do you think I have nothing better to do with my ti?"
His voice was full of anger.
Despite having a pile of work in his hands, he had still rushed ho first, planning to spare so ti to guide her.
But as for her, she didn’t return ho and turned off her phone. Luckily he knew her address, luckily he was near her place by chance, and luckily he heard her cries for help... otherwise, the consequences would have been unimaginable.
The thought of how intense the situation had been filled him with an indignant desire to kill soone.
That made sense; why would he follow her? But then, how did he end up at her house?
Could it be that he was worried sothing had happened to her and went to find her?
