The bag not only contained things like a cara, phone, and wallet but also several pieces of music Xu Xia had written over the past two days when inspiration struck. To her, it was extrely important, and with her personality, she wasn’t about to let anyone take it away.
Two people, one running and the other chasing.
"Catch him!"
While chasing, Xu Xia shouted loudly in English, but no one paid any attention. Two pedestrians on the street saw the scene and quickly moved aside.
On the roadside, a car swiftly stopped, and a man jumped out of the driver’s seat and joined her in chasing the black boy.
They ran across two streets, and when the black boy realized he couldn’t shake them off, he turned and darted into a small alley. Xu Xia imdiately turned and followed him in.
The black boy ran to the end of the alley, only to find it was a dead end with an iron fence. He grabbed the bars and started to climb up, but Xu Xia had already rushed over, grabbed his leg forcefully, and pulled him off the bars.
The black boy fell heavily to the ground, and Xu Xia imdiately grabbed her backpack from his hands, trying to snatch it back. The boy kicked out, and Xu Xia jumped aside. The black boy scrambled up from the ground, a flashing knife already visible between his fingers.
"Let go, or I’ll kill you!"
He waved the knife, shouting angrily.
Xu Xia showed no fear, her hand firmly gripping the shoulder strap, "Give back my things, and you can leave!"
The two of them were both holding onto the strap, neither willing to let go.
Seeing the man closing in, the black boy’s eyes flashed with panic. He stepped forward and slashed the spring knife towards Xu Xia.
"Watch out!"
Just as Xu Xia was about to kick, a dark figure rushed in from behind and shielded her before the knife could reach her.
Thud!
The blade of the spring knife grazed the man’s arm, slicing through his suit and shirt, and blood imdiately welled up.
Unfazed, the man grabbed the boy’s hand and twisted it forcefully, pushing him away and slamming him into the wall.
The black boy fell heavily to the ground, ignoring the bag on the ground, and turned to run.
"Bastard, don’t run!"
Xu Xia wanted to continue her pursuit, but the man grabbed her arm, "Don’t chase. It’s too dangerous!"
Watching the black boy run out of the alley, Xu Xia angrily looked away. Seeing the blood on the man’s hand, she was startled, "You’re injured?!"
"It’s just a flesh wound." The man smiled reassuringly at her, "Check your belongings and see if anything is missing."
"Things are not as important as people!" Xu Xia picked up the bag from the ground and quickly took out a handkerchief to simply bandage his arm wound, "Co on, I’ll take you to the hospital!"
"It’s just a flesh wound, no need to worry so much. I have a first aid kit in the car. A quick bandage will do!" The man pointed to the roadside, "My car is over there!"
"That’s not okay. We must go to the hospital!" Xu Xia frowned, helping him to the passenger seat, and started the car imdiately, "Do you know where the nearest hospital is?"
The man looked at her, "Turn right ahead."
Xu Xia imdiately drove off, steering the car towards the road to the hospital. A barely noticeable smile appeared at the corner of the man’s lips.
They quickly arrived at the hospital, and Xu Xia hurriedly helped him into the ergency room. Doctors promptly ca over to treat the man’s wound.
It was then that Xu Xia took a serious look at his face.
