Lan Zi and Xiao Gao imdiately ca over to help her take off the dress. Xu Xia quickly changed into a loose pajama after removing the tight dress, grabbed a lollipop from the drawer and popped it in her mouth. She slouched onto the sofa, then sat up straight again, took off her necklace and earrings, and tossed them onto the bed, finally letting out a long sigh of relief.
"My gosh, finally free!"
The dress was beautiful, but still uncomfortable to wear.
"How did it go?!" Xiao Gao asked while helping to tidy up the clothes.
"The conversation went alright, but..." Xu Xia raised her hand to pull out the hairpin resting on her head, "Maintaining a ladylike deanor all night was exhausting."
"Can I interpret this as you flaunting your happiness?" Lan Zi asked with a smile.
"Definitely not!" Xu Xia pulled the lollipop from her mouth. "This guy is nice, he looks good, has a good personality, very gentlemanly... but still, it feels like we’re from different worlds."
"Do you like him?" Xiao Gao asked.
Xu Xia shook her hair and stuck out her tongue to lick the lollipop.
"Chatting with him was pleasant, but when he hugged upon leaving, it felt awkward!" She looked at the evening dress on the bed. "He’s great as a friend, but as a lover, it feels odd. He’s like this evening dress, beautiful, flawless, but wearing it every day would be tiring."
"How could you say that? I think this dress fits you perfectly. You really look beautiful in it." Xiao Gao clutched Lan Zi’s arm. "Sister Lanzi, don’t you agree?"
"The dress is beautiful, but..." Lan Zi raised her eyebrows, "Anyway, you’ve just t. Spend so ti together, see how it goes. If you get along, great. If not, you can always be friends!"
"That’s true!" Xu Xia yawned and stood up. "I’m so tired. I’m going to take a bath. Can you two help tidy up the dress? I’ll keep it since I’ve worn it. As for the jewelry, I’ll return it tomorrow."
The two of them helped put away the dress and left. After Xu Xia showered, she flopped onto the pillow and quickly fell asleep.

After a few days, the journalists’ initial enthusiasm had substantially subsided.
On Monday, Luo Xiaoqian went to work as usual. Though she encountered a few journalists, she managed to deal with them effortlessly.
At noon, Mike brought her lunch. Just as she opened the lid and took a bite, her phone started ringing on the table. Seeing "Teacher Tang" on the display, Luo Xiaoqian hurriedly answered.
"Is this Luo Jun’s mom? This is Teacher Tang."
"Hello, Teacher Tang. Is there sothing you need?"
"It’s like this, Luo Jun just got into a fight with another child and injured his head. You’d better co to the kindergarten."
Luo Xiaoqian’s face changed dramatically. "Alright, I’m heading over right now!"
Forsaking her al, she quickly grabbed her purse. Luo Xiaoqian and Mike rushed to the kindergarten where Luo Jun was, heading straight to the office.
As soon as she entered, she saw Luo Jun standing to the side with his head down, his little face taut. John was standing next to him.
Opposite them, a little boy of similar age with gauze on his head was nestled in his mother’s arms, sobbing.
"I’m so sorry!" Luo Xiaoqian hurriedly went forward to apologize to the boy and his parents. "It’s my fault for not teaching him well. I’ll take the child to the hospital for a thorough check-up, and if there’s any issue, I’ll cover all the expenses."
"No need!" The boy’s mother said coldly. "I just want your son to apologize to our Junjun!"
