Supporting her, Leng Zirui walked over to the Battle Shield Vehicle parked on the roadside, opened the car door, and tried to start the car. As expected, there was no response at all.
Walking to the front, he raised his hand to open the car’s hood, shined a flashlight around, and instantly saw the broken wire.
"How’s it going?"
Xu Xia feigned an interest as she walked over, glancing at the broken wire he discovered, and just pursed her lips. This guy’s eyes are pretty sharp.
Leng Zirui glanced at the broken end of the wire, and his ticulous mind imdiately recognized it was intentionally damaged. He turned his head sideways to look at Xu Xia.
"Did you do it?"
Xu Xia looked up at the sky, pretending not to hear.
Leng Zirui chuckled lightly, turned around and walked to the back of the car, took a toolbox from the trunk, handed her the flashlight, and then opened the toolbox to take out the necessary tools.
Xu Xia busied herself moving the light to assist him, watching as he casually took out a few things, twisted them a bit, and reconnected the wire.
"Get up there, try to start it!"
Leng Zirui raised his face and nodded towards her, Xu Xia opened the car door, turned the car key, and with a click, the car instantly started.
After putting the toolbox back in place, Leng Zirui walked back over and opened the car door.
"I’ll drive!"
The road conditions here were poor, making it difficult to turn around. He didn’t want this girl to drive the car into the nearby ditch.
They swapped places, with Leng Zirui sitting in the driver’s seat, deftly turning the car around. Glancing at Xu Xia beside him, he chuckled, "No need to look at with such admiration, there’s no car in this world that Young Master Leng can’t fix!"
Xu Xia imdiately withdrew her gaze full of admiration and humd dismissively.
The car suddenly lurched and stopped in place.
Xu Xia turned her face, imdiately mocking, "Young Master Leng, your car seems to have broken down again."
Leng Zirui glanced at the dashboard, "Miss Xu, does your car run on air?"
Xu Xia leaned over, puzzled, to look at the dashboard, only to see the fuel gauge light glowing red — the car was out of gas, she hadn’t even thought about refueling before they ca over.
"Oh no, I forgot to refuel!" Xu Xia blushed, "What should we do now?!"
"I’ll go check if there’s a fuel pipe in the car." Leng Zirui pushed open the car door, got out, and jogged back to the SUV for a look, monts later returning empty-handed, opening the door on Xu Xia’s side, "Let’s go, there’s no fuel pipe in the car, I’ll take you ho first."
Xu Xia also got out of the car with him, glancing at the Battle Shield blocking the road, "But what about this car?!"
"Leave it here." Leng Zirui said nonchalantly.
"But..."
Xu Xia looked at his profile, with a startled expression on her face.
This was his favorite car, yet he casually left it here without a single word of reproach for her?!
"Are we going?!" Leng Zirui locked the car, stuffed the car keys into his pocket, turned to see her still standing there dazed, raising an eyebrow in confusion, "What’s wrong, your leg hurts?"
"Oh, it’s nothing!" Xu Xia snapped back to reality, walking forward with him.
Seeing she was still carrying food, Leng Zirui naturally reached over, taking the items from her hand.
The two returned to the SUV that Leng Zirui had driven over, he opened the car door, helped her into the seat, and even reached over to fasten her seatbelt, before handing the food back to her.
"Eat while it’s hot, it’ll get cold soon."
