In the small apartnt Mo Bei rented.
After Mo Bei’s several hours of effort, the vegetables Jiao Yang bought were finally washed and placed on the table.
"Alright, we can start eating now!"
Bringing the last plate of greens to the table, Mo Bei let out a long sigh of relief.
Jiao Yang lifted his face from the laptop screen, walked over, and looked at the greens on the table.
He saw, on a few pretty plates, a few pieces of bok choy, a few spinach stems, and a few lettuce leaves...each kind of vegetable was not even enough to cover the bottom of the plate.
The tofu on the plate could be counted on one hand, and they were all irregular in shape, looking like so child’s prank...
"These are the vegetables I bought?!" Jiao Yang looked puzzled.
He clearly bought a lot, so why are there only a few leaves?!
Mo Bei looked innocent, "Yeah, you bought too little, this is all that’s left after I picked them."
He bought too little? He clearly bought large portions, enough for four people, okay?!
Jiao Yang looked at Mo Bei’s face, stepped into the kitchen, glanced at the countertop, which was fairly clean, but the garbage bin on the floor was full, with large pieces of lettuce and bok choy...the leaves looked completely fresh but were thrown away by her.
Looking at the vegetables she threw away in the garbage bin, Jiao Yang could only smile wryly.
This wasn’t picking vegetables, it was throwing them away.
If he had known it would be like this, he definitely wouldn’t have given her the task of picking and washing vegetables; this girl was even more wasteful than him.
With a smile, Jiao Yang didn’t bla her for anything.
From these past few days of interaction, Jiao Yang also ca to understand Mo Bei’s general upbringing. Basically, she was the type who was accustod to having everything done for her, so it’s understandable she didn’t know these things.
Jiao Yang turned to look at Mo Bei, "What’s up with the tofu?!"
Those few pieces of tofu on the plate together wouldn’t even add up to half a fist’s worth; he rembered buying a big block of it.
"Uh..." Mo Bei pursed her lips, "I accidentally used too much force when cutting, so...I crushed it...and then...this is all that’s left..."
Seeing her apprehensive expression, Jiao Yang shrugged his shoulders, "It’s okay, I’m a at lover anyway. Where’s the at I bought?"
He had bought a lot of at slices, lamb and beef both; she couldn’t possibly ss those up too, right?!
"They’re there, they’re there!" Mo Bei’s face relaxed, and she imdiately gestured towards the sink with her chin, "I soaked them in there, I’m about to wash them!"
Washing lamb and beef slices?!
Jiao Yang looked puzzled at the sink, and sure enough, his purchased beef and lamb were soaking in the clear water, with a little foam over them.
A bad premonition rose in his heart, "What did you put in there?!"
"Dishwashing liquid!" Mo Bei rolled up her sleeves, "You sit at the table and wait, I’ll wash the at clean and bring it over right away."
Washing at slices with dishwashing liquid?!
No matter how high Jiao Yang’s laughter threshold was, he couldn’t help bursting into laughter upon hearing this.
"What?!" Mo Bei looked at him with a face full of suspicion, "Why are you laughing?!"
Jiao Yang was almost in tears from laughing, straightening up, he managed to hold back, "Can you tell if there’s anything among the ingredients I bought that you haven’t touched?!"
Mo Bei raised her hand and pointed at the stove, "That... those noodles, I haven’t washed them yet."
