"Alright!" Ah Jiu agreed as he prepared to leave, but his phone suddenly rang. Puzzled, he answered the call and listened to his subordinate’s report on the other end. His brow furrowed slightly, "Okay, I understand. I’ll inform the gentleman right away."
"What’s happened?" Leng Zimo asked, puzzled.
"The subordinates sent to monitor Luo Ke reported that he went to Shanghai yesterday and returned to Beijing this morning," Ah Jiu said.
"Shanghai?!" Leng Zimo frowned, "What for?"
"We haven’t found out yet, but it shouldn’t be business-related; otherwise, he wouldn’t have returned after just one night," Ah Jiu mused briefly, "Do you think... it might have sothing to do with Madam?"
Luo Ke going to Shanghai wasn’t unusual, but returning after just one night was odd. After all, if it were a business trip, the subordinates wouldn’t have missed it. If it wasn’t business-related, what was he doing?
Surely, he wouldn’t just impulsively decide to see the night view of the Bund and then leave, would he?!
"Did we find out which hotel he stayed at?" Leng Zimo’s tone was deep.
As a man, he could sense that there was sothing different in the way Luo Ke looked at Luo Xiaoqian. It was the look of a man who had feelings for a woman. Moreover, given Seo Fei’s previous interactions with Luo Ke, Leng Zimo was increasingly sensitive to Luo Ke, which is why he had soone keep an eye on his whereabouts.
This trip to Shanghai by Luo Ke was clearly unusual.
"It was at the Intercontinental Hotel, not far from where Madam was staying, checked in at 6 PM and checked out by 6 AM the next day."
"Where is he staying now?" Leng Zimo asked again.
"He bought a small estate in Nanxiao, and it’s heavily guarded."
Just as Ah Jiu finished speaking, Leng Zimo’s phone rang as well. The na Leng Zirui appeared on the screen.
"Zirui?" Leng Zimo answered the call.
"Did Xiao Qian return to Beijing?" Leng Zirui asked directly.
"She returned last night. Did sothing happen?!" Leng Zimo asked.
It’s obvious sothing happened that prompted him to call and ask about Luo Xiaoqian.
"I was ambushed last night. These days, have your people stay extra vigilant, especially protect Mo Mo and Xiao Qian. They’ve already figured out that the secret key is with , and I worry they might harm Mo Mo and Xiao Qian!"
"How are you?" Concern tinged Leng Zimo’s tone.
"I’m fine. I’ve already sent my people to protect Dad, so you don’t need to worry. Just take care of your family of three’s safety!"
"Alright, you also be careful." After a brief pause, Leng Zimo asked, "Have there been any updates on Seo Fei?!"
"Not yet... Brother, I have so matters to attend to over here. I’ll hang up for now. If anything cos up, I’ll get in touch with you." Leng Zirui hung up the phone and took the docunts from a subordinate walking over, "What happened?!"
"This morning, a fisherman in Shanghai found a male corpse entangled in a fishing net. The corpse was placed in a cent bag filled with rocks, probably intended to sink the body. However, it got caught in the net. The police’s conclusion is that he died from snake venom," the subordinate nodded towards the photo atop the docunts, "It’s the deadliest King Cobra venom. Because the thod is similar to several bodies found in other countries, they’re suspecting it’s related to our Cobra case investigation, hence the docunts were forwarded to us."
