A few bodyguards strode towards Jiao Yang. Mo Bei, fearing her father would make things difficult for Jiao Yang, grabbed the fruit knife from the coffee table and held it to her neck.
"Mo Wenxiu, I’m telling you, either you leave with your people right now, or I’ll die in front of you!" She pressed harder with her fingers, "I an what I say."
The sharp tip of the knife quickly pierced her skin, and blood began to drip out.
"Xiao Bei?!" Jiao Yang exclaid, "Don’t be rash."
Mo Bei didn’t look at him, only provocatively stared at Mo Wenxiu.
Mo Wenxiu’s eyes filled with fury as he looked at the blood streaming down her neck. He gritted his teeth and turned towards the door.
"Let’s go!"
"Stop!" Jiao Yang called out in a low voice from behind him, "If you really love your daughter, you should let her do what she wants."
"This is our family matter; you have no right to interfere." Mo Wenxiu turned his face and gave him a cold glance, "If you’re smart, you’d better stay away from her."
With that, he strode out the door, and the bodyguards hurried after him.
"Xiao Bei!" Jiao Yang hurried over, snatching the knife from Mo Bei’s hand, and took out his handkerchief to press against her wound, "Why were you so impulsive? What if you really hurt yourself?! Where’s the first-aid kit?"
Mo Bei raised her hand to press on the handkerchief, "On top of the fridge."
Jiao Yang rushed into the kitchen, grabbed the first-aid kit from the fridge, moved her hand and the handkerchief, and carefully examined her wound. After confirming it didn’t need hospital treatnt, he took out a cotton swab to clean her wound and then applied a bandage.
Tidying up the used cotton swabs, Jiao Yang put everything back on top of the fridge and handed her a bottle of water, "I know this is your issue, and I shouldn’t comnt, but personally, I think you and your father should have a proper talk."
"We can’t communicate." Mo Bei took a deep breath and forced a smile at him, "Thanks for earlier."
"No need to thank , we’re all friends, it’s the right thing to do." Jiao Yang smiled back at her, "What will you do now, continue moving and avoid him?"
"It’s fine, you don’t need to worry, I’ll handle it, I promise it won’t affect work."
Mo Bei’s tone was calm, but her face couldn’t hide the desolate expression.
Jiao Yang glanced at his watch, "How about you stay at my place for a few days, and we can deal with this when I co back, okay?!"
"No need to trouble you, right?"
"It’s no trouble, you can even say you’re house-sitting for !" Jiao Yang stood up, holding her wrist, "Co on, let’s go now."
Looking down at his warm hand on her wrist, Mo Bei pursed her lips, did not refuse, and simply followed him out the door, letting him hold her hand into the elevator, out of the elevator, and settling her in the car.
Jiao Yang started the car, drove out of the community, and confird there was no one following before speeding up, driving back to his place at the Riverside Fragrant Mansion. He opened the car door for her and directly led her into his villa.
"You can choose any room to sleep in except mine, isn’t that considerate?!" Jiao Yang raised his hand and gently ssed with her slightly tousled hair, "Alright, stop moping, there’s no problem that can’t be solved in this world. I’ll pack so things; you go wash your face first."
After saying that, he turned to leave.
"Jiao Yang!"
Mo Bei suddenly stepped forward and grabbed the hem of his clothing.
