Luo Jun persisted a few steps, finally unable to continue, he collapsed onto the beach.
"Hey!"
The little girl exclaid and hurried to help him up from the ground. Unfortunately, she was younger and frail, unable to move him. After a few tries, she realized it was impossible and had to give up.
"Wait here, I’ll get my grandpa, don’t you leave..." she urgently instructed Luo Jun, then turned and ran toward the nearby village, "Grandpa, Grandpa..."
A mont later, the little girl ca back, followed by an elderly man with graying hair. Although he looked sowhat scholarly, his fair skin suggested he wasn’t a local fisherman.
Seeing Luo Jun collapsed on the ground, he bent down to feel his forehead and imdiately picked him up, rushing towards the nearby road.
"Xinger, hurry, we must get him to the hospital imdiately!"
"Okay!"
The little girl agreed, picked up the plastic bag from the ground, and followed him in big strides toward the road.
The grandfather and granddaughter hurried onto the road, placing Luo Jun onto a motor tricycle parked at the intersection.
"Hurry, take us to the hospital, this child has a high fever and it’s dangerous!"
The young man driving the motorcycle recognized the grandfather and granddaughter and started the vehicle without a word, taking them to the nearest hospital.
Quickly, they arrived at the hospital, and the elderly man ran in carrying Luo Jun into the ergency room.
"Quick, save him!" The little girl Xinger imdiately grabbed a doctor, "Save him!"
The doctor and nurse rushed over, letting the old man into the ergency room, and began to examine Luo Jun.
The grandfather and granddaughter stood by the bed, watching with concern.
"How is he? Will he die?"
Seeing the doctor stop examining, Xinger looked up with big worried eyes and asked.
The doctor smiled reassuringly, "It’s not that serious, he seems to have acute pneumonia from drowning, but with prompt treatnt, he should recover in a few days with an IV drip."
Xinger lowered her head, looking at Luo Jun on the bed, "Then why won’t he wake up?"
"Because he’s running a fever. Once it subsides, he’ll wake up." The doctor straightened up, "Let’s give him an antipyretic injection first."
For children, an excessive fever could cause irreversible brain damage, so the priority was to reduce Luo Jun’s fever.
The doctor and nurse acted quickly, while Xinger, looking at Luo Jun’s flushed face on the bed, went to the restroom, soaking her small handkerchief with cool water, and ca back to place it on his forehead.
"Xinger?" The old man smiled at her, bending down, "Who is this boy?"
Xinger shook her head, "I don’t know him, I saw him by the beach."
The doctor looked at the old man, "Could you please tell the child’s na and age, so I can fill out the admission form? Given his condition, he’ll need to be hospitalized for proper treatnt."
"We don’t know his na or age." The old man frowned slightly, "My granddaughter found this child by the beach."
The doctor looked at Luo Jun confusedly, his gaze passing over the wetsuit he was wearing, "Did he ntion where his parents are?"
"He said... his parents don’t want him anymore." Xinger replied softly.
"Oh?!" The doctor looked at Luo Jun on the bed again, "How could such an adorable child be unwanted by his parents?!"
