Leng Zirui had just drunk half of the milk in his cup when a prison guard walked over and tapped his table.
"ROY, your lawyer is here!"
Leisurely finishing the remaining milk, Leng Zirui got up casually and extended his hands.
The other imdiately took out handcuffs and cuffed his wrists, leading him out to the visitors’ room.
Inside the visitors’ room, a white lawyer wearing glasses and a suit was already waiting for him.
Entering the room, Leng Zirui lazily glanced at the man.
He had seen this person in the docunts he had reviewed before.
Ah Ke. Burton, ROY’s dedicated lawyer, and also ROY’s strategist, possibly the person who understands ROY the best. Leng Zirui knew this eting would be crucial.
If he could successfully trick Ah Ke, then deceiving others would be much easier, and the entire plan would be halfway to success.
Calculating internally, Leng Zirui did not show too much warmth or eagerness towards Ah Ke. Dragged lazily by two prison guards to the table, Leng Zirui sat down, spreading his legs, and turned his head to look at Ah Ke on the opposite side.
He had observed ROY, this man always sat or stood this way—lacking posture whether sitting or standing, as if suffering from a bone disease, with his head never held upright.
"According to federal law, we can talk privately for ten minutes." Ah Ke said in a businesslike tone, "Gentlen, please leave."
The two officers shrugged and exited the room.
Ah Ke sat down opposite Leng Zirui. "How are you?"
Leng Zirui ambiguously curled his lips, "The bed is a bit small, and not soft enough. Maybe you could get a comfortable mattress?"
Ah Ke chuckled softly, "Don’t worry, you’ll soon get a more comfortable bed."
"And a new bed companion," Leng Zirui joked.
"Of course." Ah Ke took out paper and a pen from his bag, his deep blue eyes behind the lenses fixed on Leng Zirui, his tone calm, "The court ti is set for nine o’clock. I’ve prepared all the materials. Do you have anything to add?"
Leng Zirui t his gaze across the table, "No."
"Very well!" Ah Ke twirled the pen in his hand, "I’ll see you in court then."
"See you there," replied Leng Zirui coolly.
Ah Ke stood up and walked to the door, knocking lightly. The prison guard outside imdiately opened the door.
Before stepping out, Ah Ke glanced back at Leng Zirui, "I forgot to ask, how is the injury on your back? Will it... affect your court appearance?"
Leng Zirui blinked, "It won’t stop from doing anything."
"That’s good!" Ah Ke nodded and left.
Leng Zirui was taken back to his cell by the prison guards, but shortly after, he was brought out again and seated in the ard transport heading to the courthouse.
Sitting in the vehicle, he appeared calm but was secretly preparing.
Earlier, Ah Ke had clearly hinted if he wasn’t mistaken, the other party intended to rescue him at this opportunity.
Everything was going as Leng Zirui expected.
The rescue operation had long been ready. Just as the transport vehicle had barely driven out of the prison, a large truck suddenly charged out from the side, hitting the lead police car out of the way.
Leng Zirui was already prepared, with a twist of his left hand, he had already disard the officer beside him.
