Luo Xiaoqian took the headphones, placed them over her head, and Ya Nan pushed the mixing console in front of him, starting to play the music.
Although Luo Xiaoqian was extrely familiar with the song, upon hearing the music with the arrangent completed, she still got goosebumps all over.
The opening flute was lodious and light, followed by the piano harmonizing with Oriental instrunts, and when it ca to the vocal section, it was paired with string music... The entire piece had clear layers, and just listening to the music alone, one could fully feel the increasingly intense emotion in the song, especially since Luo Xiaoqian was holding the lyrics in her hand, Lin Xi’s words were exquisite and lingering, yet not lacking in grandeur.
"That night, under the moon, when first we t, your brows like phoenix flas, stunning my eyes.
How many tis, our gazes t, your eyes full of tender emotion, changing a hundred tis.
Tossing and turning kisses, our fingers entwined, even a sharp blade becos as soft as thread around the finger.
...
For her, I’d stand at the ready with my sword.
For him, I’d point my sword at all under heaven.
Together as a pair, side by side on horseback, to the ends of the earth!"
(Special Note: The inspiration for the lyrics cos from my ho’s handsost Master Bei’s "Spoiled Ace Wife: The Indifferent Princely Heir’s Consort," a very good read worth checking out. If you have ti, dear readers, do take a look. These lyrics were originally created by the author with Master Bei’s authorization. My writing is poor; please excuse the laughs.)
Listening to the music, humming the lyrics, once the song was over, Luo Xiaoqian still couldn’t co back to her senses for a long ti.
After a while, she lowered the sheet music in her hand.
"Let’s go with this one!"
Although there were other choices, there was no need to listen further; she was certain that this version was the best.
"I like your boldness!" Ya Nan said with a smile, "So, shall we begin?"
"Yes!"
Luo Xiaoqian took off the headphones and, following the instructions Leng Zimo had previously given, drank so water and did so throat-preparation exercises before stepping into the recording booth to officially start recording.
The recording did not go smoothly; either Ya Nan wasn’t satisfied, or Luo Xiaoqian wasn’t satisfied. After a whole day’s struggle, they only managed to produce two demos.
Then they both went ho to rest separately. Luo Xiaoqian sent the recorded demos to Leng Zimo’s email, and in just two minutes, he called back, pointing out four or five errors.
Although the guy was as sarcastically sharp as ever, Luo Xiaoqian listened carefully and found his points quite reasonable.
She imdiately called Ya Nan to discuss recording again, and after a brief conversation on the phone, Ya Nan appreciated her earnestness and cooperatively cleared his schedule, agreeing to start over the next afternoon.
Not until after three o’clock in the morning the next day did they finally complete the recording work.
After sharing a late-night al with Ya Nan and a few of the staff, Luo Xiaoqian returned to World City and imdiately sent the final product that had co out of the oven to Leng Zimo again.
It was already past five o’clock, and with a six-hour ti difference, it was already late at night in France.
Guessing that he had already gone to sleep, she sent the email and then imdiately took a bath. After the continuous high-intensity work, she was nearly as tired as Little Piggy and fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.
When Luo Xiaoqian woke up the next day, it was already the afternoon. She casually picked up her phone to check the ti and discovered an unread ssage.
"Very good!"
Leng Zimo’s reply was just these two simple words, but Luo Xiaoqian didn’t know that this was the highest praise among all his evaluations.
The tistamp showed that the ssage had been sent just after eight in the morning, two o’clock in the morning in France, a full hour and more after she had sent the email.
More than an hour—could it be he had been listening repeatedly?
Impossible, that guy must have been busy with sothing else.
Or perhaps, he was getting intimate with another woman.
Considering this possibility, Luo Xiaoqian frowned, and without further ado, tossed her phone aside.
"Perfunctory—like you, such a harsh critic, would ever say ’very good.’ No one would believe that!"
