The crowd behind her imdiately moved their gun muzzles and flashlights away.
The man’s face gave a clue, with a chiseled, handso appearance, a buzz cut that couldn’t be shorter, and he wore a combat outfit for the field.
"Are you Luo Xiaoqian?!"
The man asked gently, then tentatively extended his palm towards her.
"Don’t co closer!"
Seeing his extended hand, Luo Xiaoqian scread sharply and swung the wine bottle with both hands toward him.
The man dodged swiftly, and as Luo Xiaoqian missed the hit, she imdiately retracted her hands to her chest, tensing up her entire body.
The tall man frowned slightly, stood up, and pulled out his cell phone from his pocket.
Before he could make the call, the heavy sound of an engine could already be heard from outside.
With the flashing headlights, a royal blue Bugatti that nearly matched the color of the night crashed through the guardrail and into the courtyard, screeching to a halt on a mound of sand.
Before the car lights even went off, a man had already dashed out from inside the car, braving the pouring rain as he charged into the rear building.
"Who goes there?"
The n uniformly stepped forward to et him, guns pointed in his direction.
The bright light revealed the man’s striking countenance, and it was indeed Leng Zimo.
"Get out of the way!"
Confronting the multitude of lights and gun muzzles, he roared just two words and kept moving forward, shoving aside the soldiers who were blocking his path.
"Let him in!"
The tall man ordered from inside the door, and his subordinates who had been about to act stopped their movents.
Leng Zimo burst into the room, his gaze sweeping over the tall man before fixing on Luo Xiaoqian in front of the pillar.
She was huddled up, her long hair hanging wet over her face, eyes filled with terror peeking through the strands, her white dress in stark contrast with her black hair. Her hands were tightly clutching a beer bottle, now only half intact, and her fair palms were covered in mud.
In the dimly lit room, she looked so solitary, so vulnerable.
Leng Zimo’s heart shattered!
"Xiao Qian, I’m sorry!"
He rushed forward, his arms reaching out to embrace her.
"Don’t co any closer!"
Luo Xiaoqian growled lowly, instinctively swinging the beer bottle in her hand. Leng Zimo had no ti to dodge; the bottle pierced through his suit and shirt, directly into his arm.
"Don’t be afraid, it’s !" He ignored the pain in his hand, wrapped his arms around her wet and cold body, "It’s , I’m Leng Zimo, I’m here to save you!"
Leng Zimo?
Was he Leng Zimo?!
Luo Xiaoqian stopped struggling and lifted her face from his chest, "You’re Leng Zimo?"
Raising his uninjured hand to smooth out her disheveled hair, Leng Zimo smiled tenderly, "Take a good look, I’m not lying to you, I’m Leng Zimo!"
Luo Xiaoqian finally slowly released her grip on the beer bottle and threw herself into his embrace, clinging tightly to his shirt.
"Take away, take away, Leng Zimo, hurry and take away, I don’t want to stay here..."
"Okay!" he held her, patting her back soothingly, "I’ll take you away right now, we’re going ho, ho!"
Blood from his arm was already seeping out of the wound, but he seed completely oblivious to it, just cradling her in his arms and wrapping her in his jacket as if she were a baby.
"Where is the person?"
His voice was very low, seemingly not to startle Luo Xiaoqian who was still frightened in his arms, but the rage in his voice emanated from every word.
"Across!" The tall man jerked his chin toward the room across.
Leng Zimo walked straight towards the room across.
