A muffled sound ca as a sausage on the rack had been overcooked, its casing swelling up. After being baked for over half an hour, the thin casing couldn’t withstand the pressure anymore and burst open, at flying everywhere, falling into the coals below and imdiately began to sizzle and burn.
Both were startled, turning their faces toward the source of the sound at the sa ti.

Almost half of the prepared at was lost; there certainly wasn’t enough for two people.
"How can we do that, you’re a man. How could you be full from just bread? Eat with !" Luo Xiaoqian blocked his way.
"I’m dieting," Leng Zimo said.
He’s dieting? He had the epito of a man’s physique, why would he diet? She didn’t believe it for a second!
"Oh!" Luo Xiaoqian feigned a pained expression, "Are you trying to murder the salt trader?"
Could it be? Leng Zimo looked suspiciously at the skewer in her hand, "Is it too salty?"
"Don’t believe ? Try it for yourself!" Luo Xiaoqian raised the skewer to his lips.
Leng Zimo took a bite, savoring it in his mouth, perfectly seasoned. Spotting the cunning smile in her eyes, he realized this was just one of her ploys.
"Not salty at all," he said deliberately.
"That’s because you took too small of a bite. Try a bigger one!" Luo Xiaoqian, unaware that he had seen through her act, continued her charade with fervor.
He took a big bite, chewed, and then inhaled sharply, "Ah, it is indeed quite salty!"
This ti, it was Luo Xiaoqian’s turn to be perplexed.
She had picked what seed to be the best-looking skewer for him. Seeing the pained expression on his face, she took the skewer and bit into it.

Seeing her fall for his trick, Leng Zimo laughed out loud, a rare occasion.
