"Alright!" Jiao Yang replied from the passenger seat, and the driver drove the car out of the hospital’s main gate.
By the ti the car reached the hotel, Luo Xiaoqian had already treated Leng Zimo’s wound on his hand and wrapped it in gauze on the back seat.
The group got out of the car together, and the driver took the luggage out of the trunk and followed them into the lobby.
Just then, Yu Tong ca hurrying out from inside, and upon seeing the group, she approached them with joy.
"Xiao Qian, President Leng, President Jiao, you’re all back, that’s great!"
"Xiao Zhou and the school are fine, don’t worry!" Luo Xiaoqian stopped in her tracks, "How is Xiao i?"
"She woke up just now, and she’s sleeping at the mont. I’ve just sent the injured driver ho and ca back to change clothes before going to relieve Doctor Song so he can rest," Yu Tong glanced at Leng Zimo and Jiao Yang behind her, then turned to the front desk. She helped them check into separate rooms, reminded them to rest well, handed the room keys to Luo Xiaoqian, and then left for the hospital.
The group headed upstairs together, and Luo Xiaoqian handed two room keys to Jiao Yang and the driver, "Thank you both for tonight. It’s late, so have a bath and get so good rest."
Jiao Yang accepted the room key, smiled at Luo Xiaoqian, and said, "Alright, see you in the morning!"
Watching the two head to their respective rooms at the other end of the corridor, Luo Xiaoqian finally used the room key in her hand to open the room prepared for Leng Zimo. She pushed the door open and stepped in, "The anities here are limited, but at least it’s clean..."
Before she could finish her sentence, a pair of hands pulled her over and hugged her tightly once again.
Leng Zimo’s arms squeezed extrely tight, and Luo Xiaoqian felt as though all her bones might be crushed by his embrace.
"Zimo, I’m sorry!"
She apologized quietly in his arms.
"Idiot!" Leng Zimo reprimanded softly with vexation, "I know you wanted to help soone, but what about yourself? What if sothing happened to you?"
"I’m not that noble!" Luo Xiaoqian pressed her face against his chest, "That little girl’s dad died, her mom is sick, and I just felt that if sothing happened to her, her mom would be so sad..."
Leng Zimo suddenly steadied her shoulders and straightened her out of his embrace.
"And what about ? What am I supposed to do if sothing happens to you? Do you know how I felt seeing that car buried in the mud? At that mont, I regretted so much wishing I was dead, regretting why I let you co here. I was so scared, really terrified. If you were gone, what would I do, Luo Xiaoqian, what would you have do?!"
His eyes showed anger, but they conveyed even more helplessness and heartache.
This girl’s situation resembled hers, he could imagine what she felt at the ti. She wasn’t wrong, but, still, he was very angry—not at her saving soone, but at her lack of care for herself.
Luo Xiaoqian lifted her face, speechless.
She had said "I’m sorry" to him too many tis.
Having never felt quite confident in front of him, she never realized how significant she actually was to him.
Her eyes stung, and her throat and chest felt suffocated, nearly leaving her unable to breathe.
Noticing the tears in her eyes, Leng Zimo was startled and quickly relaxed his hands.
"What’s wrong, did I scare you?!"
Luo Xiaoqian was unable to speak, shaking her head vigorously instead.
"Is it discomfort sowhere, did you get hurt during the accident?" Leng Zimo grew more worried, grabbed her wrist, turned around, and rushed towards the door, "Co on, I’ll take you to the hospital!"
