"Zimo," Xu Pei raised her face, "it seems like I’ve twisted my ankle, co help up."
Leng Zimo stepped forward but didn’t imdiately help her rise; instead, he squatted down to look at her foot, "Which one?"
If she really had twisted her ankle, a careless move might aggravate the injury, so he decided to ask about her condition first.
After all, Xu Pei was not Luo Xiaoqian, and in Leng Zimo’s mind, Xu Pei was not a fragile girl who needed any special treatnt from him.
"My right foot!" Xu Pei reached out to pull on his arm, "I don’t think it’s serious, just help up and let walk a few steps."
Leng Zimo was unconcerned and promptly grabbed her arm to help her up from the ground.
Outside the door, hurried footsteps approached, Xu Pei took the opportunity to pounce into Leng Zimo’s arms, pretending a sudden pain in her foot.
"Sister Xu Pei!" The door to the restroom burst open, and Luo Xiaoqian hurried in, surprised to see Leng Zimo.
"Xiao Qian, don’t misunderstand!" Xu Pei hurriedly stood up from Leng Zimo’s embrace, "It’s not what you think, we... we didn’t do anything!"
By then, Luo Xiaoqian had already rushed forward, taking hold of Xu Pei’s arm, "Zimo is here too, what happened to Sister Xu Pei?"
Leng Zimo was also sowhat surprised to see her, but he didn’t think much of it, "She just took a fall, appears to have twisted her ankle a bit."
"Is that so, which foot, and is it serious?" Luo Xiaoqian looked worriedly at her foot, "Zimo, could you carry Sister Xu Pei back to the private room, and we’ll have Mr. Shen check it out."
She actually wanted Leng Zimo to carry herself back to the private room?!
Surprise flashed in Xu Pei’s eyes as she glanced sideways at Luo Xiaoqian, only to see her delicate face full of concern, without a trace of the anger or any other emotion Xu Pei had imagined.
Leng Zimo squatted down in front of Xu Pei, "I’ll carry you on my back!"
Luo Xiaoqian might not mind, but he did, no matter what, Xu Pei was still a woman, and his arms were not for just any woman’s enjoynt, even if she was his good friend Xu Pei.
The turn of events was completely unexpected for Xu Pei, who chuckled at the sight of Leng Zimo’s broad back, "What do you take for, a porcelain doll? I’m not that fragile. Just let walk it off, I’ll be fine!"
"Not okay, sotis a sprain doesn’t hurt at first, but if a tendon is injured it can swell for a long ti!" Luo Xiaoqian expressed her concern earnestly.
"Really, I’m fine, Zimo, could you step out for a mont? I... I still need to use the restroom!" Xu Pei said with a laugh, "In a little while, I can have Xiao Qian help out."
Leng Zimo, hearing her say that, no longer insisted and stepped outside to wait.
Luo Xiaoqian then helped Xu Pei to walk further in.
"Xiao Qian, wait a mont, actually, I’m done!" Xu Pei pursed her lips, "I just wanted to explain what happened earlier. Zimo and I just accidentally ended up in each other’s arms, we were not here for a secret date. Please don’t get the wrong idea about Zimo."
The scenario she had carefully orchestrated had not gone as expected, and she couldn’t accept it.
As they say, to explain is to cover up; Xu Pei believed that Luo Xiaoqian must understand this.
"Are you done explaining?" Luo Xiaoqian asked.
"If you don’t believe , I..."
"I believe you!" Luo Xiaoqian smiled, taking hold of her arm, "Let’s go, it’s best to have Dr. Shen check on it sooner rather than later."
