Leng Zimo exclaid and dashed down the stairs.
The photo had provoked him to lose his sanity and beco distressed. He got stuck on the idea that he and Luo Xiaoqian were siblings in an incestuous relationship, unable to accept this reality, and that’s why he couldn’t see the truth.
Now, reason had returned to him, and it wasn’t hard for him to imagine that Luo Xiaoqian must have overheard bits of his conversation with his father, thus misunderstanding his thoughts and choosing to leave on her own.
Rushing down the stairs, Leng Zimo had already grabbed his phone and dialed the gatekeeper’s number.
"This is Leng Zimo, Leng Lin’s son. Have you seen a pretty young girl in a black T-shirt and white pants?"
"Oh, there did seem to be a girl like that who seed to be crying when she ran out!" the gatekeeper answered.
Leng Zimo seized the car keys from the desk, charged out of the door, started the car like a maniac, and screeched to a halt by the gatekeeper, yelling at the guard, "Where did she go, that girl who was crying, where did she go?!"
The on-duty security guard pointed in a direction with his hand.
Leng Zimo imdiately stepped on the gas and drove the car through the gate.
As he drove, he dialed Luo Xiaoqian’s number, which rang for quite a few tis before soone answered.
"She didn’t take her bag." Leng Lin’s voice ca through the phone.
"If anything happens to her, I’ll never forgive you, never!" Leng Zimo roared, hurling the phone onto the passenger seat.
From the military district to World City, from World City to Emperor View...
Leng Zimo called Yu Tong, Xu Xia, Zhuo Yannan... and everyone he could think of that Luo Xiaoqian knew, to ask after her.
But no one had seen Luo Xiaoqian.
Even by evening, there was still no trace of Luo Xiaoqian.
Driving through the rainy streets of Beijing, he tensely watched the roadside, stopping whenever he saw soone taking refuge from the rain at bus stops, but found nothing.

Luo Xiaoqian huddled under a large tree by Beihai, not far from the Leng Family Mansion, her arms tightly wrapped around herself.
She had co here right after running out of the Leng Family’s main gate.
The rain was pouring heavier, and there weren’t many people around, nor did anyone notice her as she had been sitting there since noon until now.
