Leng Zimo did not make a sound.
"Who hasn’t made mistakes? It’s been so many years, Zimo, it’s really enough," Shen Yizhou looked at his face helplessly, "If your aunt knew about this from below, I think she would definitely not want the relationship between you and your father to be so stiff."
"Yizhou, I understand what you’re feeling," Leng Zimo furrowed his brows tightly, "People make mistakes, I know that, but why won’t he admit it? Because he doesn’t think he’s in the wrong at all. I don’t forgive him, not because he made a mistake, but because he refuses to admit his mistake to my mother!"
Shen Yizhou sighed.
This matter was not sothing he had advised Leng Zimo about just once or twice. He also knew that because Leng Zimo hadn’t seen his mother for the last ti, there was always a regret in his heart, and his grudge against his father had grown deeper.
"There’s another surgery at the hospital, so I have to leave first. You two rest well, and if you feel uncomfortable at all, call right away."
"Okay!"
Leng Zimo saw him out, watching him enter the elevator before he returned and went upstairs.
On the second floor, Luo Xiaoqian was standing in the corridor.
Approaching her, he raised his hand to support her shoulder and spoke softly, "What would you like to eat? I’ll call to order right now."
"Zimo." Luo Xiaoqian held his hand, "I’m sorry."
He smiled indulgently, "Silly girl, none of those things are your fault."
"I am... I am apologizing on behalf of my mother," Luo Xiaoqian said with her face downcast.
"Alright, I accept," Leng Zimo smiled and lifted her face, "Let’s consider that matter over and done with, and let’s not bring it up again, okay?"
Looking into his eyes, feeling the comfort and affection in his gaze, she nodded solemnly with tears in her eyes.
"Crybaby!" He raised his thumb, gently wiped away her tears, and turning while supporting her shoulders said, "Now, go take a nice bath. I’ll order the al right away. After you’ve finished and co out, we can start eating, okay?"
"Okay," Luo Xiaoqian agreed, heading toward the bedroom.
"Wait." He hurriedly called out from behind her.
"What’s wrong?" She stopped puzzled, turning her face around.
"I just wanted to ask if you needed my help," Leng Zimo deliberately spoke in an ambiguous tone.
"I certainly do not!" She rolled her eyes at him and dashed into the bedroom.
Watching her figure disappear behind the door, Leng Zimo finally relaxed.
She had already suffered too much, and he truly could not bear to let her endure anything more. He would rather bear the cross of those past events himself, while she should only be responsible for living happily and joyfully.
Turning to go downstairs, he casually took out his phone and called the manager of one of his restaurants, "Prepare a breakfast for two and deliver it to World City."
After hanging up the phone, he called Zhuo Yannan to inform him that Xiaoqian had been found and that the work plan was still postponed for a week as originally scheduled.
The mont the call ended, another call ca in.
Seeing the Leng Family’s landline number, which wasn’t saved in the phonebook yet was so familiar it could be dialed instantly, Leng Zimo hesitated for a few seconds before deciding to answer the call.
"Xiaoqian has been found."
"I know," the voice of Leng Lin on the other end was gentle and low, "Don’t you want to know the truth? When you have ti, co back, and I will give you and Xiaoqian an explanation."
