The car left the city behind, heading straight for the lakeside villa. Leng Zimo had previously purchased a house here, and later, when Xu Pei heard about it, she bought a ho in the sa neighborhood. Therefore, he didn’t call her but went directly to the villa complex.
The outco was unexpected.
The pair stopped the car outside Xu Pei’s door but saw no lights on in the villa.
"She’s probably asleep. Otherwise, shall we deal with it tomorrow morning?" Luo Xiaoqian got out of the car and looked at the dark windows of the villa.
Leng Zimo didn’t think much of it and got back in the car, taking her to his own villa in the sa community to rest.

The two ca back to Xu Pei’s villa, and Luo Xiaoqian went up to ring the doorbell.
However, after several attempts, there was no response.
Luo Xiaoqian stepped back two paces, looked at the windows with curtains wide open, and glanced at her watch, "She couldn’t still be asleep, could she?"
Leng Zimo checked his wristwatch and imdiately took out his phone to call Xu Pei.
Knowing Xu Pei as he did, he understood that she was always serious about her work and even had the habit of exercising in the morning; she couldn’t possibly still be in bed at this ti.

"I’m not at ho? Why didn’t you respond when I rang the doorbell?" Leng Zimo asked.
"You went to the villa?" Xu Pei was startled and sounded sowhat flustered.
"Yes, I’m outside your door."
Xu Pei let out a sigh of relief, "Oh, I... I rented an apartnt near the company for the convenience of work, so I haven’t been back to the villa."
"Alright then, I’ll wait for you at the company. Rember not to forget my computer."
After hanging up, Xu Pei bent down to unplug the USB drive from his computer. Although she hadn’t yet thought of a solution, she had already backed up the video footage onto the USB. She carefully stored the USB in the study’s drawer, pressed the shutdown button on Leng Zimo’s computer, and packed his laptop into a computer bag.

"Why?" Luo Xiaoqian asked, curious.
"No particular reason, just listen to , okay?"
He didn’t want to lie to her, nor did he want to reveal the truth; he could only make this request. Although Xu Pei hadn’t shown any signs recently, after the incident with Father Leng, Leng Zimo had grown wary of her.
"Okay."
Luo Xiaoqian gazed into his profound eyes as they looked over at her, and she nodded lightly. Though she didn’t know the exact reason, she had absolute trust in him. If he asked this of her, there had to be a good reason.
