On the table, her phone suddenly rang, signaling an incoming ssage.
"Hmph! Apologizing so soon?"
She assud it was her boyfriend apologizing and picked up the phone with a smile, only to see a ssage from an unfamiliar number.
"If you want to make a coback in the entertainnt industry and be a big star again, do as I say!"
"Crazy."
Muttering a curse, Su Jin tossed the phone back onto the table, took another cigarette, placed it between her lips, lit it with a lighter, and slowly exhaled a plu of smoke. Her gaze, through the haze of smoke, turned back to the phone on the table, and in the end, she picked it up and dialed the number that had sent the ssage.
But as soon as the call connected, the other party hung up.
A mont later, another ssage ca through.
"There’s a brown paper bag at the entrance of your building downstairs. Take it ho."
After glancing at the ssage, Su Jin tossed the phone aside, "Tch, trying to make dance like a monkey, I don’t have ti to play with you!"
Yawning, she got up, took a can of beer from the kitchen, and drank deeply.
Soon, the can was empty. She stuffed the finished cigarette into the beer can and casually grabbed a light jacket to put on over her pajamas, then picked up her keys from the table and went downstairs.
She looked around after stepping out of the elevator at the entrance and quickly spotted a brown paper bag by the steps. She glanced around suspiciously.
It was late at night and eerily quiet; no one was in sight.
After a mont’s hesitation, she quickly walked over, grabbed the paper bag from the ground, and turned to go back upstairs.
Back in her apartnt, having carefully locked the door, Su Jin imdiately opened the brown paper bag. She reached inside and pulled out a USB drive and a printed note.
The note was printed with a few simple lines.
"Keep the USB drive safe. When the ti cos, I’ll instruct you on your next step. Don’t waste ti trying to view the files. I’ve set a password, and you won’t be able to access them."
Despite the note’s ssage, Su Jin decided to try anyway and went into her study to turn on her computer. As ntioned by the stranger, the files on the USB were indeed password-protected and prompted for a password upon opening.
Grabbing her phone again, she swiftly typed a ssage and sent it.
"Who are you?"
The reply ca back quickly.
"Soone who wants to help you."
After that, no matter what she asked, there was no response. Out of frustration, she tried calling, but the phone indicated that the other party had turned off their phone.
