An elderly couple slowly erged from the elevator, supporting each other. Leng Zimo watched Luo Xiaoqian rush to the elevator, his gaze sweeping over her loosely draped coat, and his brows imdiately furrowed again.
"That... Leng... I an... Zimo..." Luo Xiaoqian gasped as she reached the elevator, "What is the entry code for your place?"
Each apartnt in this building had a dual protection system; besides using a key, an entry code could also unlock the door.
Leng Zimo pulled her into the elevator, "Did you rush over here just to ask that?"
The elevator was floored with wood, and stepping on it barefoot felt cool. Luo Xiaoqian curled her toes, hiding her embarrassnt with a laugh, "I ca to see you off, and while at it, to ask!"
He looked down at her bare feet on the floor, his brow furrowing even more.
"090512!"
Luo Xiaoqian quickly committed it to mory.
090512?
It seed like a date, but surely it wasn’t his birthday, so what could it be?!
As the elevator doors were slowly closing, Luo Xiaoqian turned hastily to press the open button. However, he stepped forward, already close to her, and his long fingers reached out and pressed the number 19.
Leng Zimo raised his hand, pressing for the 19th floor, closing the distance between them.
"Actually, I..."
Luo Xiaoqian thought he had seen through her and began to nervously explain.
To her surprise, she suddenly felt light as he swept her off her feet.
"You don’t need to carry , I can go up by myself..." She instinctively resisted, her gaze inadvertently caught his stern face, and she imdiately stopped struggling, "Sorry, I forgot to bring my key!"
Leng Zimo looked at her apologetically lowered lashes and sighed softly.
The elevator returned to the 19th floor; Leng Zimo, without so much as a glance at the suitcase, carried her to the door where Luo Xiaoqian hurriedly input the code.
The door clicked open.
Leng Zimo carried her through the door and set her down on the shoe cabinet in the entranceway. He took a key from the box hanging by the door and walked into his study, then ca back to her shortly after.
Before Luo Xiaoqian could understand what was happening, he approached, hung a ribbon around her neck, and then yanked open her collar.
"Hey!"
Was he really that mad just because she had forgotten her keys?
Feeling the coolness at her chest, Luo Xiaoqian looked down to see a shiny key hanging between her bunny slippers, the very key she had forgotten.
Did he think she was a child, playing with the idea of hanging keys around her neck?
"Without my permission, you are not allowed to take it off, not even for showers!"
