Leng Zimo instructed the maid to fetch a box and carefully cut a piece of cake to place inside before cutting another piece to hand to Little Luojun.
While the children were enjoying their cake, the adults also picked up snacks from the table.
Shen Yizhou then presented the gift he had prepared for Luojun, "Mo Mo, happy birthday."
Because Qin Wanwan had already phoned everyone earlier, each of the guests had prepared two presents.
Rembering his own gift, Leng Zimo hurried downstairs and shortly returned carrying a squarely wrapped box to Luojun, "Happy birthday to you."
"Thank you." The little guy took the gift handed over to him, looked at it, and asked, "Is this a record?"
"How did you know?" Leng Zimo was sowhat surprised.
"Is it really a record?" The little guy imdiately carefully placed the record on the table and unwrapped the packaging. Seeing the record cover revealed, his face lit up with excitent, "Is this Brahms’s First Symphony?"
He recognized the album cover as Brahms but, since he didn’t know that many English words, he wasn’t sure it was the First Symphony he had been longing for.
Leng Zimo hadn’t expected the little guy to be so knowledgeable about vinyl records.
"Yes, this is the collector’s edition released in 1993. Do you like it?"
"That’s fantastic," the little guy exclaid excitedly, "This is exactly the one I was missing; now I can complete the whole set."
"You like vinyl records too?" Leng Zimo beca excited as well.
They say that like-minded friends are hard to find, and here was such an adorable little one.
"Yes, I already have over a hundred records," said Luojun as he gently caressed the record in his hands. Then, turning to Leng Zimo, he asked, "Uncle Zimo, could you autograph it for ?"
"Mo Mo, are you a fan of Uncle Zimo too?" Huangfu Ruo asked with a smile from the side.
"I’m not, my mom is," Luojun replied, passing the record case to Leng Zimo, "Can you?"
Leng Zimo, who usually detested things like fandom and autographs, was uncommonly happy this ti, "Of course I can."
The maid had already brought a pen, and Leng Zimo carefully signed his na on the record case and wrote a birthday wish for Mo Mo.
The little guy took the record, looking at the signature with a face full of joy, "That’s amazing, my mom will be so happy when she sees this."
Because of his fondness for the little guy, Leng Zimo also grew a natural curiosity about his mother.
He was eager to know what kind of parents raised such an interesting child.
"What does your mom do for work?" he asked.
"She’s a music planner."
That explained it.
Leng Zimo nodded slightly, "And your dad?"
"My mom says my dad is a great artist."
The little guy replied casually, but to Leng Zimo, the response held a particular significance.
The words "my mom says" already revealed that Luojun seed to not know much about his dad.
"So... you live with your mom, right?"
"Yeah," Luojun nodded, "Mom says dad is very busy and has a very special mission. We can only go to see him when I grow up a bit more."
A sadness settled in Leng Zimo’s heart. He didn’t know the real circumstances but naturally assud that Luojun ca from a single-parent family, and thus he felt an instinctive sympathy and pity for the little guy.
