Luo Xiaoqian instinctively paused for a mont, then hurriedly started running, wanting to escape.
"Hey!" Leng Zimo reached out to grab her, but his hand grasped at air, missing her. He imdiately started chasing after her, calling out, "Wait a minute, I..."
In the oncoming lane, a car happened to be turning in. Seeing Luo Xiaoqian running toward it, the female driver’s face changed instantly. In her panic, she intended to hit the brakes but accidentally stepped on the gas pedal.
Vroom!
With the roar of the engine, the car headed straight for Luo Xiaoqian.
"Watch out!"
Leng Zimo shouted urgently, dashed forward, and pushed Luo Xiaoqian out of harm’s way.
The female driver realized what was happening and hurriedly switched her foot to the brake. With the screech of the brakes, Leng Zimo fell to the ground.
Luo Xiaoqian was thrown aside, slamming into a parked car. She turned her head and saw Leng Zimo lying on the ground, and a loud buzz filled her mind.
"Zimo!" She scread and rushed to him, frantically helping him up, "Are you okay?"
"I’m fine." With her help, Leng Zimo propped himself up, naturally turning his face to look at her.
Seeing her face, his expression froze.
"Are you really okay?" Luo Xiaoqian examined his body with concern, noticing the scrape on his leg exposed through his torn trousers. She frowned with distress, "You say you’re fine, but your leg is bleeding. Does it hurt? Can you move..."
She asked a series of questions, but Leng Zimo didn’t respond.
"Zi..." Luo Xiaoqian turned her head and t his scrutinizing gaze. She suddenly realized what she was doing and instinctively started to withdraw the hand supporting him.
Her wrist tightened. Before she could pull her hand back, Leng Zimo’s hand had already reached over to grasp hers.
At the mont their skins touched, Luo Xiaoqian distinctly felt a current seemingly pass from his fingers to her hand, and a layer of goosebumps ford on her skin.
She subconsciously tried to tug her hand free, but couldn’t.
"Sir?!" The female driver opened the car door and jumped out, running over in a panic, "Are you okay? Should I take you to the hospital?"
"No need."
Leng Zimo didn’t even look at her; his gaze was fixed on Luo Xiaoqian.
This face, this face, this face...
When had he seen it before? Why did this face give him such a strange feeling?
Why did just holding her wrist make his heart race?
The female driver apologized profusely, "But your leg is bleeding. I think you should go to the hospital for a checkup. It’s my responsibility, I..."
"Get out."
Leng Zimo was very displeased with her interruption.
"Huh?!" The female driver didn’t hear him clearly, "What did you say?"
Leng Zimo turned his face towards her and growled, "Get lost, didn’t you hear ?"
The female driver was stunned. After a mont, she turned around, frowning.
"Crazy!"
She muttered a curse, walked back to her car, opened the door, got in, and drove off.
"Your leg... does it hurt?" Luo Xiaoqian asked softly.
Leng Zimo didn’t answer but asked in return, "Have we t before?"
"We..."
"You called my na earlier, you know ?!"
Leng Zimo’s gaze was fixed on her face. Though Luo Xiaoqian tried hard to conceal it, he still saw the obvious concern in her eyes.
