Chapter 146. His Fiancée Broke Through to the Sixth Realm, Stunning All the Instructors
Jiang Feng’s actions left the other four completely speechless.
Jiang Yichen shook his head helplessly and could not be bothered with Jiang Feng. He was not in the mood for that, either.
He felt no pity at all for soone who had disgusted him in his previous life.
Even if the whole group got punished, he did not care.
He had failed this march training in his previous life too, and the instructor had only made him run a few laps around the Military District as punishnt.
That would actually work out nicely. He could even use the chance to give Su Linyu and the others a bit more Blood Qi and ntal strength.
He swept a cold glance over Jiang Feng on the ground, then directed the robot toward the finish line.
When Su Linyu saw his attitude, she ignored Jiang Feng as well and followed after Jiang Yichen.
Tang Long looked from side to side, hesitated for a mont, then said, “Old Chu, let’s go too. This guy is seriously annoying. Even if I get punished, so be it.”
Chu Xingchen fell silent for a mont, then shook his head, stepped forward, and pulled Jiang Feng up from the ground.
“Man, who said you could pull ? I can get up on my own. I’m not inferior to any of you!” Jiang Feng struggled hard, his arm twisting with force.
“Hell? You really don’t know what’s good for you—”
Tang Long was about to curse him out, but Chu Xingchen cut him off.
“Jiang Feng! That’s enough!”
“This group doesn’t belong to just one person, and it’s not a place for you to show off your competitiveness. It’s a place where people work together toward a shared goal.”
“Are you going to drag the entire group down and make everyone get punished just because of your stubbornness?!”
Chu Xingchen’s stern rebuke made Jiang Feng stop struggling. The arrogant look on his face slowly faded as he lowered his head.
“I... I just wanted to win...”
“There are many ways to win. Your way is too childish.”
Chu Xingchen sighed, then called out to Tang Long, “Help get him to the finish line. Our group does not abandon anyone.”
Tang Long looked disgusted, but when he thought about how the entire group would be punished if Jiang Feng failed to make it to the finish line, he nodded in agreent.
“I’m only doing this for Old Chu’s sake.”
The two of them helped Jiang Feng up and followed after Jiang Yichen.
Jiang Feng did not cause any more trouble. He simply kept his head lowered, lost in thought.
Up ahead, Jiang Yichen slowed his pace. Chu Xingchen’s actions had been exactly what he expected.
“Brother Yichen, if you really dislike Jiang Feng, then we can just ignore him from now on. Don’t let him ruin your mood,” Su Linyu said gently as she ran beside him.
Jiang Yichen smiled faintly. “I wouldn’t say I dislike him. He’s just a little irritating to look at.”
“Then look at more, Brother Yichen. I will never annoy you.” Su Linyu bead sweetly at him, her eyes sparkling like they were full of little stars.
Jiang Yichen propped up his cheek, and his mood imdiately improved.
Having a fiancée who could soothe him whenever he felt upset really was a kind of happiness.
He looked at Su Linyu, the corners of his mouth lifting. “All right. Then I’ll look at you more from now on.”
At those words, Su Linyu jumped up excitedly. “From now on, I’ll be Brother Yichen’s sweet little darling.”
Jiang Yichen burst out laughing at how adorable she was.
Not long afterward, all five of them crossed the finish line together and arrived at the Airport of the Third Military District.
The blades of the combat helicopters whipped up fierce gusts of wind, and the instructors had already been waiting below.
“Chu Xingchen is pretty good. Not abandoning anyone and never giving up—that’s exactly the point of this training.”
Instructor Han of Formation Twenty-One nodded in approval.
“Old Huang, the group leader your team picked, still needs so education. One of his teammates couldn’t keep going, and he just turned around and left.”
Instructor Huang’s face darkened, and just as he was about to speak, Instructor Lin beside him shook his head.
“Chu Xingchen does have a strong sense of righteousness, but he is not suited to be a leader. Jiang Yichen may have turned and left, but in reality, he understood everyone in the group very clearly. He knew Chu Xingchen would never abandon Jiang Feng, so he kept his pace slow the entire ti.”
“A leader who understands every mber of his group that well is a group leader in the truest sense.”
So of the instructors agreed, while others objected, but in the end, Jiang Yichen’s actions still ran contrary to the purpose of the training.
“Enough. I’ll write it into his Military District Internship record. What a headache.”
Instructor Huang spoke helplessly, and only then did the instructors from the other formations finally let the matter drop.
By then, after crossing the finish line, everyone except Jiang Yichen had collapsed onto the ground, panting heavily.
“Ah... I’ve never run this far in my life.” Tang Long thrust both hands into the sand and tilted his head back as he gasped for breath.
Chu Xingchen wiped the sweat that kept pouring from his forehead. Just as he was about to rest for a while, he suddenly sensed a change in his strength.
He sat down cross-legged and looked inward. A mont later, he snapped his eyes open.
“I broke through two levels in a row. I’ve reached the Fifth Layer of the Fifth Realm.”
“Huh?” Tang Long imdiately sat upright at those words and examined his own strength. His eyes instantly lit up. “Holy shit! I went up two levels too. I’m at the Third Layer of the Fifth Realm now.”
“Is this march training really that insane?”
He was utterly stunned.
Jiang Feng alone was completely baffled. He looked himself over, but there was no change at all.
“Captain, what about you—”
Beep—
Tang Long had been about to ask Su Linyu, but a shrill cry of a bird suddenly rang out across the entire wasteland.
A Vermilion Bird ford from crimson Radiant Fla shot up from Su Linyu’s body into the sky like a miniature sun.
The darkening night sky was instantly bathed in a crimson glow.
Chu Xingchen, Tang Long, and Jiang Feng all lifted their heads in disbelief. Feeling the overwhelmingly powerful aura fluctuations, shock filled their eyes.
“H-Holy shit! Captain is about to break through to the Sixth Realm, Great Grandmaster!” Tang Long’s jaw dropped.
Chu Xingchen stared at the Vermilion Bird in the night sky. “Her martial talent seems to have grown even stronger. The pressure she’s giving off is even more terrifying than it was back at the Team League arena.”
As for Jiang Feng, he was frozen where he stood. They had all run together, yet the other three had broken through, while he had not reacted at all.
The calst person there was Jiang Yichen.
He looked at the flaming Vermilion Bird in the night sky, and a smile rose to his lips.
Watching Su Linyu grow stronger step by step gave him a strange sense of accomplishnt, as though he were raising his wife.
He finally understood why so ntors, back when he had been a student, would patiently and earnestly guide others, only to feel such joy when those students grew.
“She broke through!”
The instructors waiting at the airport for their formation sensed Su Linyu’s breakthrough aura, along with that soul-stirring flaming Vermilion Bird, and all of them froze slightly.
What was this? Did march training really have such miraculous effects on breakthroughs?
“She broke through to the Sixth Realm, Great Grandmaster? I rember that when Su Linyu first arrived at the Military District, her file said she was at the Fifth Layer of the Fifth Realm.”
“Yeah, and it has only been a week. She broke through five whole levels in a row? What kind of joke is that?!”
“No way. She must have been hiding her true realm, just like Jiang Yichen.”
“This couple is seriously monstrous. It’s gotten to the point where we’re not even qualified to teach them anymore. Sigh.”
“What can we do about it? Just look at Su Linyu’s martial talent. I feel like it’s even more terrifying than SSS-rank. Is she really still a recruit? She’s basically here to crush the weak.”
“...”
The instructors could not help but shake their heads. They themselves were only at the Sixth Realm, yet now even a recruit had broken through to the Sixth Realm, and there was an even more outrageous Seventh Realm monster among them.
Was this supposed to be fair? There was no way to compete with that.
This batch of recruits truly was the most terrifying batch of all.
