The Pope if he was Aero or Kyle, they would see that taking the Loth region would not be good at all in the foreseeable future since there is a lot of problems there.
If they take Loth region, the Holy Zun Empire would share more of its border with Alfhaim, opening more opportunity for conflict to escalate between Zun and Alfhaim.
Not to ntion they already share their borders with Nero Republic.
There are now two enemies that would restrain the Church.
Short term gain, is that they expanded. Long term loss, they now are restrained and act as a buffer between Alfhaim and Veva.
With the Holy Zun Empire so preoccupied with the two, they would not have the desire to try to attack Veva and provoke another enemy.
That would lead to Eric able to stabilize the internal and external matters of the United Kingdom of Veva
Then when United Kingdom of Veva is strong and stable, they could take back the region they lost easily and might even be able to push further south directly into the mainland of Holy Zun Empire
There are also all kinds of secret society in the Loth region that wanted to regain back the independence of their kingdoms.
But the Pope and Ariana could not see this flaw.
What they see and what they hear was that the southern border of the United Kingdom of Veva is vulnerable and its military is focused on sowhere else

The main forces of Vanheim is now moving to the capital of Veranis to annex Veranis!’ he said it all in one breath, shocking both the Pope and the Holy Maiden

That day, all the western kingdoms got that shocking news delivered to them and it rattles everyone.
Chancellor Aero had return to Vanheim forces once again showing his mighty power in the battlefield and leading the army of Vanheim to victory against Veranis and now marching to the Capital city.
One contingent of the army were sent ahead to relieve and aid the soldiers in the garrison of Duvar and to help deter anyone that is trying to take Duvar.
From this one could see how big the ambition of the Chancellor is.
He did not only want to bring Veranis down.
He also still wanted to keep Duvar.
If Veranis fall, and it would fall, considering the general trend and the impressive victory of the Vanheim forces, Vanheim now truly controls the road to the west.
There are no longer uncertain factors like in the past when Veranis was the one who truly control the road to the west.
Now, it is a race of ti between Aero and Eric.
If Aero could quickly seize the capital city of Veranis and then send a main bulk of his army to reinforce the garrison all over Duvar, then Eric might have to retreat back and losing more than they should have.
But if Eric is faster and able to tear down the defenses of Duvar before the main forces of Aero could co to relieve them, then Duvar would be taken by Eric and as such the conflict between East and West might be brought forward.
The private army of the Empress also was sent out from the Vanheim Imperial Palace to aid her father in Duvar.

Savillia who did not move at all, sohow last night had move their army attacking the borders of Karak, dismantling the castle that stood on their way to the heartlands of Karak, attacking from their back.
When the frontline of Karak army heard that their western borders are being overrun by Savillia kingdom soldiers, they sent a few of their armies to deal with the matter at the back
However, the mont they sent aid to the west, Marquis Dan that have not moved his army this past week and was always in defensive position suddenly pounce to the fort.
Karak army is stuck in the middle and Savillia conquers around ten cities by dawn of the next morning had arrived.
They were fast and they were efficient in taking down the villages and the cities.
They would have left a few of their people with so garrisoned soldiers to make sure that their supply lines were not cut off.
The lack of any army to obstruct them, had made their journey very smooth and unstoppable.
And Marquis Dan had broken through the frontlines and with the news of the defeat of King Alexander in the Plain of Ethylred the morale of the Karak army was at the bottom making Dan finally breaking through Karak and taking a few cities along the way
It is clear that this is no coincidence that suddenly marquis Dan attacked at the very mont that Karak send so of their armies to restrain Savillia on their western borders.
Since Aero had been involved in this war, everyone could guess that the Chancellor might have reached an agreent with Savillia kingdom.
This is a joint attack between Vanheim and Savillia. Karak might been wiped out the face of the map when the dust is settled.
And it was not only Savillia that was making their move that night.
When dawn ca and Savillia had taken a lot of the cities in Karak, and Marquis Dan of Vanheim had break through the frontlines that pointed their weapons toward Vanheim, United Kingdom of Veva had also make a move to Duvar.
Aerosia pounce the Redat region, the Holy Zun pounce on the Loth region
In a few hours, the situation of the world had changed. And it all could be traced back during that night attack in Plain of Ethylred
