138: Chapter 138: Tracking!
Murderous Intent!
Soon after several people entered the Moyun Mountain Range, Mo Wangchen was the sixth to go in.
Passing through a dense forest, he faintly slled a strong, pungent scent of blood wafting over to him.
This Moyun Mountain Range, rampant with Monster Beasts, is a forbidden land for Cultivators, but there are also many who venture in to hunt for treasure.
If lucky, they could kill so Monster Beasts and perhaps even obtain Demon Cores.
Demon Cores are the essence of Monster Beasts, and if one could absorb the quintessence within them, it would greatly aid a Cultivator’s strength.
Not all Monster Beasts have Demon Cores within them; it’s already quite significant if there is one among a hundred.
And now, the pervasive stench of blood here indicated the dangers of this mountain range!
After passing through the dense forest, Mo Wangchen had fully entered the domain of Moyun Mountain Range, but this area at the edge was rely a testing ground designated by the Academy.
On the outskirts of the Moyun Mountain Range, the strongest Monster Beasts are often third-tier.
Such class of beasts possesses strength comparable to a fifth-layer Cultivator at the Spirit Transformation Realm.
But Mo Wangchen was well aware that just at the periphery, as long as one wasn’t incredibly unlucky, encountering a third-tier Monster Beast was improbable.
As for the second-tier, they were not much of a problem.
Second-tier Monster Beasts generally had strength sowhere between the Vein Condensation Realm and the first or second layers of the Spirit Transformation Realm, though it greatly depended on the species.
“Is soone tracking ?”
A short while after walking, Mo Wangchen released his Perception to scan the surroundings.
The peak third-tier Perception was no joke, already able to compete with the top figures at the Spirit Transformation Realm.
While his Perception probed his surroundings, he noticed that soone seed to be following him.
He slightly furrowed his brow; he was the sixth person to co here.
Among the five people who had entered before him, one was from Gu Feng, and the other three were Disciples from other powers within the Academy, with no conflicts with Mo Pavilion.
But there was one person, a Disciple from Star Wing Pavilion.
However, that Disciple had only just broken through to the first layer of the Spirit Transformation Realm and was not particularly strong.
Right now, Mo Wangchen could feel that the person tracking him from behind had a breath that was clearly more than just the first layer of the Spirit Transformation Realm, but rather had reached at least the third layer!
“An Inner Court Disciple, huh…”
His gaze narrowed slightly; the other person was probably soone from Star Wing Pavilion or Lingtian Sect’s network in the Inner Court.
“It seems that the Great Elder’s words, about not initiating conflict with others inside the mountain range, were completely ineffective,” Mo Wangchen mused to himself, yet his steps never paused.
His Perception continuously monitored the person behind him, as he could not afford to be careless; after all, the other party was an Inner Court Disciple, a master of the third layer of the Spirit Transformation Realm.
Should they launch an attack, Mo Wangchen would have to resist with all his might.
Walking in the mountain range for about half an hour, he encountered several Monster Beasts, but Mo Wangchen did not wish to stir any commotion and instead chose to avoid them, taking detours to bypass them.
Once sure that he had moved away from the direction of the entrance, Mo Wangchen stopped and glanced behind him, saying indifferently, “You’ve followed for so long, co out.”
“Oh?”
Just as his voice fell, a young man walked out from behind a large tree not far away, looking at Mo Wangchen with a nonchalant expression, “You’re quite alert, to have noticed my presence.”
“Who are you?” Mo Wangchen asked, looking at the other person.
“You’re Mo Wangchen, aren’t you?” The man was also looking at him and didn’t seem intent on answering; a trace of disdain flashed through his eyes, “Soone gave quite a bounty to lay my hands on you during this assessnt.
Just consider yourself unlucky.”
“This is an assessnt for the Outer Court Disciples, and as an Inner Court Disciple responsible for maintaining order in this event, aren’t you afraid that the Academy will punish you for taking action against ?” Mo Wangchen frowned and spoke in a deep voice.
“Heh, heh…”
The man let out a disdainful laugh, “Don’t forget, this is the Moyun Mountain Range, teeming with Monster Beasts, a forbidden ground for cultivators.
This assessnt is unlike any before.
If a disciple were to be eliminated by Monster Beasts, I doubt the Academy would find it suspicious, right?”
“You want to kill ?” Mo Wangchen’s eyes suddenly turned cold upon hearing the man’s words.
Originally, he had assud that even though the Star Wing Pavilion and the Lingtian Sect had sent soone after him, it would at most be a lesson, he had not expected that the other party intended to kill him.
“I hear you’re a new disciple who joined the Academy this year and have been causing quite a stir in the Outer Court, offending many.
Kid, let advise you, the waters of the Academy are not as simple as they appear on the surface.
The Star Wing Pavilion has stood tall in the Outer Court for many years, and naturally, they have nurous connections within the Inner Court.
Even if I don’t make a move, there will be others who will.”
The man looked at Mo Wangchen and sneered coldly.
He was a disciple who had joined the Inner Court two years ago, nad Zhong Bin, and his cultivation had reached the third level of the Spirit Transformation Realm.
“Is it the Star Wing Pavilion…”
Mo Wangchen narrowed his eyes, confirming what he suspected; the man before him, Zhong Bin, was sent by the Star Wing Pavilion.
Although he also had grievances with the Lingtian Sect, they hadn’t reached a point of life-and-death hostility.
However, the Star Wing Pavilion was different; their Pavilion Master was Jun Yao, of the Jun Family.
Jun Yao had seen his talent of the five Spirit Veins, and his existence posed a threat to the Jun Family, so he had to be eradicated!
“So what if you know?” Zhong Bin sneered coldly, “You are destined not to leave the Moyun Mountain Range alive!”
With that, he suddenly stepped forward, and the ground cracked open.
Inside him, the madness of Spiritual Power surged, and his body turned into a black shadow, streaking towards Mo Wangchen.
Mo Wangchen’s gaze sharpened, and his expression darkened.
He had been on guard already, unleashing the Spirit Sea within him, pouring incessant Spiritual Power throughout his body.
Zhong Bin was incredibly fast, and in the blink of an eye, he arrived in front of Mo Wangchen.
His fist, filled with the imnse energy of Spiritual Power, launched towards Mo Wangchen’s head in an attempt to annihilate him in one strike.
Mo Wangchen stepped back and, after a cold snort, clenched his fist tightly, which was layered with dense Spiritual Power, and t the other’s fist with his, causing an explosion of energy.
Boom!
A deep, resonant sound echoed, and in the next mont, in the clash, both parties were forced several steps backward.
“Hmm?!”
Zhong Bin’s brows furrowed, his gaze sowhat surprised as he looked at Mo Wangchen and snorted coldly, “Such great strength!”
At this mont, he could faintly feel his arm going numb, not expecting that Mo Wangchen, with his first level of Spirit Transformation Realm cultivation, could go toe-to-toe with him without falling into a disadvantage.
Mo Wangchen sneered coldly.
He possessed the Heavenly Dao Body, a physique that not only enabled his cultivation to increase rapidly but also began to manifest its advantages now that he had reached the Spirit Transformation Realm.
That punch just now, with his first level Spirit Transformation Realm cultivation, had forcefully repelled Zhong Bin, who was at the third level of Spirit Transformation Realm, precisely because of the Heavenly Dao Body, which endowed him with trendous strength.
