Soon, after walking to the rear of the palace, Mo Wangchen looked around and found the scene before him was still a flat land.
Following Saint Master Yunxi, they finally reached the edge of the peak.
He saw an ancient stone staircase that extended down from the mountaintop, shrouded in immortal mist between the stairs, obscuring the view and making it impossible to see the situation below.
Walking down the stone steps, about half a quarter of an hour later, Mo Wangchen was surprised to find that there was indeed a hidden world below.
Midway down the mountain, there was also a flat land, flourishing with flowers and grass, ancient trees towering skywards, and at the very center, there was a small lake.
By the lakeside, a simple bamboo house was built, beneath the eaves sat a person, facing the lake, holding a fishing rod, quietly seated in place.
It was an old woman, with an aged face, hair looking white and dull eyes, staring motionlessly at the float on the lake’s surface.
"Greetings, Master."
Saint Master Yunxi first stepped forward, cupping her hands in respect towards the old woman, who was her master and also the Supre Elder of Yunxi Sacred Land.
"Now you are respected as the Saint Master, your rank is no longer beneath mine. Moreover, with outsiders present, rember, as Saint Master, you should not bow before others."
The old woman did not turn, speaking from behind Saint Master Yunxi, her aged voice emanating from her mouth.
"Master guided into the Dao in the past, even though I am now the Saint Master, I would dare not be disrespectful," Saint Master Yunxi said reverently.
She attained life at the Immortal Spring Bank after three thousand years of enlightennt, initially entering Yunxi by the guidance of the Supre Elder. No matter what her identity or status now, this was her ntor, deserving of respect.
"Junior Shi Jie, greets Mo Venerable."
After Saint Master Yunxi, Shi Jie ca out, cupping his hands in respect; considering his rank, he indeed should address the other as an elder.
"Holy Master, no need for such courtesy."
The Supre Elder lightly put down the fishing rod, and then stood up, turning to nod towards Shi Jie.
"Greetings, Supre Elder."
Saintess Yunxi bowed in ceremony; it seed from outsiders’ perspectives, the rank of the Supre Elder was a notch below the Saint Master, and as Saintess, her status was equivalent to the Supre Elder’s.
Every Sacred Land was like this, the Saint Master as the highest, followed by Saintess and the Supre Elder, with equivalent positions.
But due to being the ntor of the Saint Master, the Supre Elder’s status in Yunxi Sacred Land was sowhat special, and Saintess Yunxi was compelled to show respect upon eting.
"Saintess, no need to be overly ceremonious."
The Supre Elder stepped forward, helping Saintess Yunxi stand straight, smiling, "You are honored as Saintess, next in line to be Yunxi’s Saint Master; how can this old lady accept such great courtesy."
Saint Master Yunxi slightly frowned, evident worry on her face, saying, "Master, I observe your complexion seems much worse than a few days ago..."
"No worries."
The Supre Elder waved her hand, "I’ve been suffering from a mysterious illness for near a thousand years; to hold on until now is a blessing, not daring to ask much from heaven, let everything follow fate, and Holy Master need not feel too pressured. This illness is tough to cure, I am aware."
"Elder, please be assured. I have repeatedly tested thods for healing, and this visit is to eradicate the mysterious illness within you," Shi Jie said.
After speaking, he approached the Supre Elder closely, intending to examine the current condition of the mysterious illness within her.
"Hmm?"
Before long, Shi Jie frowned, a grave expression appeared on his face.
Saint Master Yunxi seeing such, could not help but match the tension on her face, "Holy Master, how is it?"
"I didn’t expect the Elder’s internal mysterious illness to have worsened to such a degree, originally I had sixty percent confidence to heal, but now it looks like it’s less than twenty percent."
After the last examination of the Supre Elder’s illness, Shi Jie had been imrsed in repeated trials of treatnt, during which several hundred years had passed. Compared to then, the condition of the Supre Elder had evidently worsened, beyond expectations.
"Less than twenty percent?"
Hearing Shi Jie’s remarks, Saint Master Yunxi’s face beca significantly more solemn.
"Let take a look."
At this mont, Mo Wangchen stepped forward.
"And this is...?"
The Supre Elder had noticed Mo Wangchen’s presence early on but hadn’t paid much attention, rely presuming he was a regular disciple of Yunxi Sacred Land, or perhaps Shi Jie’s disciple. But now upon seeing Mo Wangchen step forth, claiming to diagnose her internal mysterious illness, evidently she was mistaken.
"This is Mo Wangchen, Brother Mo, who has recently risen in fa in our Eastern Desolate, and not long ago, defeated the head of the Heavenly Martial Seven Swords," Saintess Yunxi explained.
The Supre Elder, secluded for nearly a millennium, had never ventured outside, and knew little of external matters.
"Oh?"
Upon hearing Saintess Yunxi’s words, the Supre Elder’s face displayed several degrees of surprise, her gaze appraising Mo Wangchen, "The Heavenly Martial Seven Swords, though often changing hands, those who rise to the top are always outstanding talents; Little Friend Mo being able to defeat the head must be a rarity among geniuses, never expected, I have not left Yunxi for a thousand years, East Desolate has had its landscapes changed with talents erging, truly sigh-inducing."
"Elder praises excessively; junior has researched a little into Alchemy Dao, here also to examine your mysterious illness." Mo Wangchen cupped his hands and said.
"Hehe, Alchemy and Martial Arts excellence? Truly rare, however, my mysterious illness is already incurable, hence no need to trouble Little Friend Mo..."
The Supre Elder appeared polite; indeed Mo Wangchen’s visit was courteous, but as she saw it, even Shi Jie, the Holy Master of the current age, was nearly helpless, what could a junior possibly do?
Therefore, she directly declined the other’s goodwill.
"Elder, let Little Friend Mo take a look, it is no harm; this child claims his proficiency is equal to mine, maybe he indeed has a solution?"
Shi Jie stepped forward, his speech laced with a hint of mockery.
His words also led the Supre Elder to discern seemingly Shi Jie had discord with Mo Wangchen?
Proficiency not below the Holy Master’s?
This young man indeed speaks boldly, no wonder Shi Jie was so coldly sarcastic.
She inwardly shook her head but still extended her hand, allowing Mo Wangchen to examine the internal mysterious illness.
Mo Wangchen said nothing, even ignoring Shi Jie’s words, paying no attention to him at all, abruptly touching the Supre Elder’s pulse, a powerful perception surged through his fingers, directly rushing into the Supre Elder’s ridians, quickly coursing within.
"Hmm?"
At the mont Mo Wangchen’s perception surged in, the Supre Elder’s expression involuntarily changed; she could sense the strength of this perception, far exceeding Shi Jie greatly.
At the sa ti, she was utterly astonished, was this young man’s words not boastful?
This level of powerful perception evident of his proficiency, had indeed surpassed Shi Jie by much.
