The warm sunlight filtering through Hajin’s eyelids was what finally pulled him from the darkness.

He slowly opened his eyes, blinking against the bright, vibrant blue sky stretching out endlessly above him. He pushed himself up into a sitting position, imdiately noticing the sweet, fragrant scent hanging heavy in the air.

He wasn’t lying on the dirt and ruined roots of the forest floor anymore, instead finding himself sitting in the middle of a sprawling field of wildflowers.

A gentle breeze rolled across the hills, making the bright petals sway like a colorful ocean.

He climbed to his feet, brushing a few stray petals off his clothes while looking around in total confusion.

The oppressive, suffocating pressure of the demonic mana was completely gone, replaced by a peaceful tranquility that felt almost unnatural. There were no towering boundary walls, no ruined trees, and absolutely no sign of the capital.

"Where the hell am I?" he muttered, taking a hesitant step forward through the tall grass.

He wandered through the field without a clear direction, his hands brushing against the soft flowers as he tried to piece together his fragnted mories. He rembered Maren, the blinding pain of the system overload, and then nothing but pure darkness.

That was when he spotted a figure sitting a short distance away.

A young woman was kneeling in the grass, gently plucking flowers and placing them into a woven basket resting beside her. She was humming a soft, lodious tune that carried clearly over the gentle rustle of the wind.

He approached slowly, his guard unconsciously lowering in the serene environnt as he stopped a few paces away.

"Excuse ," he said, keeping his voice carefully neutral.

The woman stopped humming, her hands freezing over a bright yellow flower before she slowly turned her head to look back at him.

He felt his breath catch in his throat. She was undeniably stunning, possessing an ethereal, otherworldly beauty that made the vibrant field around them seem completely dull in comparison.

Long, flowing cyan hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall, framing delicate features and a pair of striking, brilliant yellow eyes that seed to glow in the sunlight.

She didn’t look surprised or startled by his sudden appearance. Instead, she stayed perfectly still, her eyes locking onto his with an intense, unwavering familiarity.

They stared at each other for a long, silent mont, the wind blowing a flurry of petals around them.

Then, a soft, radiant smile blood across her face as she gracefully stood up and bowed her head.

"Welco, Master," she said, her voice smooth and carrying the exact sa lodious tone she had been humming.

"Master?" he repeated, his brow furrowing as he literally looked over his shoulder, half-expecting to see soone standing behind him. "? How am I your master?"

The woman’s smile widened slightly, a hint of genuine warmth reaching her striking eyes. "You are the one who opened the gates, so who else would I address?"

"I don’t even know who you are," he replied, taking a cautious step back. "Or where we are, for that matter."

"This is my world," she said softly, gesturing toward the endless expanse of colorful flowers around them. "A very small, fragnted world where I am trapped and cannot ever leave."

He frowned, listening closely as she continued to speak.

"It used to be entirely dark here," she explained, picking up the woven basket and stepping gracefully toward him. "A hollow, empty void with nothing but silence, but then you brought the golden light, and suddenly, the flowers began to bloom."

The more she talked, the more an undeniable sense of familiarity started creeping into his mind. Her lodious tone, the strange cadence of her words, and the sheer, overwhelming purity of the mana radiating from her form all felt incredibly familiar.

His eyes widened slightly as the pieces finally clicked into place.

"Are you..." he started, his voice trailing off as he stared at the cyan-haired woman in complete disbelief.

He swallowed hard, nervously rubbing the back of his neck before asking the absurd question out loud. "Are you the Spirit Ring?"

"Took you long enough to figure it out," she replied, her smile turning into a slight, playful smirk as she placed her hands on her hips.

He stared at her, completely dumbfounded as he tried to process the sheer absurdity of the situation. The incredibly rare, supposedly inanimate magical item he had bought from a second rate shop was actually harboring a stunning, cyan-haired woman inside of it?

But the more he thought about it, the more the bizarre revelation actually started to make sense.

He rembered the small, sad voice he had heard back in the dwarf’s shop, resigning herself to being left alone forever on that dusty junk shelf.

She had reached out to him again during the exam, offering a contract to save his life when the dragon core nearly killed him.

Honestly, considering the fact that he was already fighting mutated demon Overlords and getting blessed by fragnts of a literal Goddess, assuming his magic ring was just a normal piece of jewelry was probably the most illogical thing he could have done.

"Okay," he breathed out, dragging a hand down his face as he tried to process everything. "So you’re the consciousness of the ring. That explains the voice in the shop, but what exactly is this place?"

She stared at him, looking completely dumbfounded by the question. "I just told you," she said, speaking slowly like she was explaining sothing to a child. "This is my world, or my prison, if you want to be specific about it."

"Right, I get that part," he said, rubbing his temples to fight off a lingering headache. "But why am I here? How did I get inside the ring?"

"I don’t know," she replied, her hair swaying as she tilted her head in genuine confusion. "I didn’t bring you here. You ca here entirely on your own."

He frowned, lowering his hand because that made absolutely no sense. He hadn’t cast a spell or triggered an artifact to enter her world, only rembering the system alert about the critical overload before passing out from the sheer physical strain, making it completely impossible to figure out how his consciousness ended up inside the Spirit Ring.

Before he could ask another question, the serene tranquility of the flower field was suddenly interrupted.

A system screen materialized directly between them, hanging in the air with a soft chi.

He stared at the screen, his eyes locking onto the glowing numbers. The massive influx of EXP from taking down Maren had completely shattered the second threshold and already taken a sizable chunk out of the massive requirent for the third ring.

She opened her mouth, likely about to ask what he was staring at since the system screen was clearly invisible to her, but the words never ca out.

The tranquility of the flower field shattered as a pillar of blinding, golden light erupted directly from Hajin’s chest.

He let out a choked gasp, his knees buckling while intricate, glowing tattoos began to carve themselves into his skin, winding their way up his arms and over his neck like living ink.

The woman stepped back in shock, her eyes wide with fear while the brilliant radiance consud everything in sight.
