Around six-thirty.
Lin Yufei walked out of her ho, embraced by the golden morning sun, moving briskly through the bustling crowd towards the outside of the community.
No matter how big of a fuss Su Xin's incident had caused, sparking fervent discussion among countless people, as a senior high school student, she still had to attend school on ti.
However, although her steps were light, her heart would never settle down.
Su Xin had crossed paths with her twice, and aside from his flirtatious nature, she's always felt he was actually quite a good person.
Moreover, even before interacting with Su Xin, she had heard a lot about him and envied his affluent and harmonious family environnt.
Only, she never imagined that the real Su Xin would be such a person—
Killing with impunity, ruthless, strong-willed, cold, arrogant, etc. These words in the news reports made her feel the person was unfamiliar.
At the sa ti, Su Xin's supernatural powers were like a switch that opened the door to the New World for her, letting her know that this world had such an unknown side, completely different from what she once thought.
This directly overturned her worldview.
It also made her question her own understanding and beliefs, casting her into confusion.
"Does my hard work really matter?"
"To change my destiny, is effort enough? Or should I more rely on awakening supernatural powers?"
"Su Xin awakened the ability for Instant Teleportation and resurrection, which qualifies him to challenge the world's order, making officials hesitate to act, forcing Yonghui Financial Group to take the initiative to negotiate amicably."
"As for , no matter how hard I work, I could at best beco a regular employee at Yonghui Financial Group in the future, and even that is challenging."
"The gap is simply too large."
"The world is so unfair."
Lin Yufei walked slowly down the road, growing more perplexed and dejected.
Suddenly, she sensitively detected a trace of sothing amiss, and quickly looked up to see a black business car parked to the side.
The car door swung open with a swish.
Two nacing n prepared to get out of the car.
Lin Yufei's heart skipped a beat, and she instinctively stepped back a few paces, ready to turn and run back at any mont.
One person from the car dashed straight toward her after getting out, with the other quick on his heels.
Lin Yufei had no ti to think, she directly turned around to run back, shouting loudly:
"Help! Help!"
This cry imdiately drew the attention of many around, so residents decisively moved to surround her to assist.
But the two n instantly drew guns, yelling: "Mind your own business!"
This shout startled everyone into inaction.
The two n began chasing after Lin Yufei, quickly closing the already short gap between them with their greater speed, catching up with her in re breaths.
As Lin Yufei fled, she had already drawn a ring with spikes from her pocket, worn on her right middle finger; as soon as she was caught, she swung a fierce punch at the man's arm.
The spikes weren't long, but this punch still inflicted so flesh wound on the man.
Instinctively, the latter raised his hand, ready to give Lin Yufei a lesson, but received a fierce glare from his companion, realizing quickly, he hesitated then controlled Lin Yufei's hands instead.
"Lin Yufei, don't worry, we an no harm. We ca specifically to protect you, but ti is of the essence, we can't explain much now, please co with us, and we'll return you once it's safe."
Lin Yufei grew up in a manically insecure environnt, thus developed a very cautious nature, keeping a wary eye on everything outside, how could she easily trust two strangers?
Especially when their actions didn't seem kind in the least, and they carried guns.
Yet seeing they hadn't shown greater malice for the mont, Lin Yufei pretended to struggle fearfully, insisting:
"Then explain yourselves first, who are you? Why do I need your protection?"
The man lowered his voice, saying:
"We're friends of Su Xin, since Su Xin's identity was exposed, many forces might attempt to leverage his friends to threaten him, and you are one of them, so we need to take you away until things calm down, after which we'll return you, or Su Xin will fetch you."
"Rest assured, we an no harm, otherwise we could force you into the car."
"Ti is pressing, we can't explain much now, please leave with us promptly."
Nirvana Association's investigation team quickly gathered Su Xin's entire network, not only sending people to capture Lin Yufei but also his two forr girlfriends, so friends he often played basketball with, even distant relatives in foreign lands, all beca targets for Nirvana Association.
Among them, Lin Yufei was not considered important because she only had two encounters with Su Xin, and it was just due to a coincidence with that photo that she ca into their sights.
But no matter what, due to Nirvana Association's upcoming collaboration with Su Xin, they dared not slack, until Su Xin explicitly stated his stance, they could only invite his friends politely, avoiding any rash actions.
Shocked, Lin Yufei widened her eyes, never expecting these two ca because of Su Xin, then she quickly said:
"I'm not friends with Su Xin, just regular classmates, we have no connection. I won't go with you, let go!"
Seeing her stubbornness, the two realized it was difficult to explain, lifted her towards the car saying:
"Lin Yufei, really no ti for explanations now, once at our site you'll know we truly an no harm and only wish to protect you…"
As a few tangled, many residents in the community watched from afar, whispering amongst themselves, evidently fearing angering the two ard n.
From a certain corner, a gaunt middle-aged man quietly watched this unfold, conflict evident in his eyes.
At a decisive mont, his gaze fird.
He turned to retreat into the shadowed entryway.
A mont later, a short young man erged briskly from the hall, quickly squeezing through the onlookers, accelerating towards the direction of the black business car.
His feet were bare, steps light, as he charged forth, upper body leaning forward, arms stretched sideways, like a bird poised to take flight, though faster his steps grew, they remained nearly soundless.
In a few blinks, the short young man was just behind the two burly n.
Only then did the latter vaguely sense sothing was amiss, instinctively turned, upon seeing the short young man, prepared to draw their guns to shoot.
