Su Xin snapped out of his daze.
Who would co looking for him so late?
He furrowed his brow in confusion, got up, put on his pajamas, and walked out of the bedroom.
After so thought, he decided not to bring along Finger Tiger or a gun, since his strongest asset was his superpower. If a situation arose where he needed a gun, he might as well directly use his abilities, and in such cases exposing his identity wouldn’t be a concern.
He looked through the peephole.
"It’s her!"
Su Xin’s heart gave a sudden leap.
Outside the door stood Fang ngzhu, her face void of its forr exquisite beauty, appearing utterly dejected and depressed.
There was no ti to think too much.
Su Xin hurriedly opened the door.
At the mont he saw Fang ngzhu’s tear-streaked face, he wanted to offer comfort, but realizing he caused her plight made his words feel hypocritical. For a mont, he didn’t know what to say.
He didn’t want to deceive her, nor did he want to confess his actions, so he could only sigh and welco her inside.
"ngzhu, co in first."
Without a word, Fang ngzhu collapsed into Su Xin’s arms, holding him tightly and sobbing uncontrollably.
Su Xin said nothing.
Fang ngzhu’s cries grew louder, sadder, increasingly helpless.
Several minutes passed.
She finally rose from Su Xin’s embrace, her eyes filled with tears and complexity.
Love and hate.
Conflict and release.
"So it really was you."
"The person who led the team to kill your parents was my dad, and the power you wanted to investigate was the Golden Shield Gang. You said you weren’t an ordinary person because you had the special ability of instant teleportation. You said you found a breakthrough, and that night you investigated my father."
"I’m so foolish, really."
"I went ho and begged my dad, even knelt, wanting him to help you investigate, but he refused to agree no matter what."
"Unexpectedly, the murderer was him all along."
"What’s more unexpected, the boyfriend I desperately wanted to help beca my father’s killer in the blink of an eye."
"It was you who killed my dad!"
Fang ngzhu slowly pulled out a handgun from her pocket, her hands trembling uncontrollably, yet she slowly and steadily aid it at Su Xin.
She gently disengaged the safety.
Seeing Su Xin still unmoved, a strange smile appeared on her tear-streaked cheeks:
"What? Not planning to resist?"
"Where’s your instant movent? Your gun?"
"Weren’t you rciless when you killed? Why aren’t you moving now? Ah!"
Fang ngzhu grew more agitated, ending in a heart-wrenching scream, but her gun hand dropped weakly, with tears mingling with a hint of brilliant red.
"Why aren’t you resisting?"
"Why not simply kill too?"
Fang ngzhu spoke through tears, collapsing to the ground, head lowered, muttering to herself, emanating a gloom of shadowy Qi.
Her constantly caring and loving father had been killed before her eyes, and the one who killed him was the man who had taken her innocence just yesterday, who had surrounded her with tenderness, and had given her sweet, happy mories, her first in love.
To her, simple and straightforward, it was nothing short of a catastrophic blow.
Her world had utterly collapsed!
Su Xin looked on silently the entire ti.
Soon.
His gaze sharpened abruptly.
Fang ngzhu’s hand tensed, and the gun she had barely been holding was suddenly gripped tightly.
At the sa ti.
A mysterious grayish glow spread from Fang ngzhu’s palm to the gun, and wherever the glow reached, the gun’s components inexplicably turned to ashes, vanishing into the air.
In the blink of an eye, the whole gun turned to ash under the gray glow, as if it had never existed.
"A superpower? ngzhu awakened a superpower!"
Su Xin was startled.
Tonight, by the lava traces on Jiuan Road, he had only deduced the presence of other superpower users in this world, and now he witnessed one awaken right before his eyes.
And it was his girlfriend Fang ngzhu.
Though now she might no longer be his girlfriend, but rather his foe.
At that mont.
Fang ngzhu clearly noticed the anomaly that had occurred in her as well, and she looked up at her fair, jade-like hands with an expression of mixed sorrow and laughter:
"Is this how it feels?"
"I didn’t expect to have, like you, extraordinary abilities."
"Destiny, this is destiny..."
"Heaven granted the power to destroy all things at this ti, surely to destroy the world, destroy you and , so..."
Fang ngzhu shakily stood, step by step walked to Su Xin, raised her hand, placed it on Su Xin’s chest, her expression lifeless.
"... let’s destroy it all together."
A hazy gray light spread from her palm to Su Xin’s body.
Where the light touched, Su Xin’s body silently turned to ash, dissolving in a blink into a basketball-sized hole, and still expanding at a speed visible to the eye.
All the organs and flesh rapidly disintegrated into ash, yet Su Xin felt no pain, only a peculiar cool sensation in his chest.
He silently endured it all.
He then opened his mouth.
No sound erged.
But sohow Fang ngzhu understood his words:
"From this mont on, the debt between you and is settled."
The next mont, Su Xin’s whole body exploded into a cloud of ashes before her, then dissipated, leaving no trace of existence.
"Dad, I avenged you."
"Su Xin, I’m sorry."
"Now, I’ll join you both..."
Seeing Su Xin perish, a glint of sorrow and pain flashed in Fang ngzhu’s eyes.
Her emotional experiences were too limited; for the man she had just been intimate with yesterday and was still deeply in love with an hour ago, she couldn’t cold-heartedly kill him.
But he had killed her father.
Even if her father killed Su Xin’s parents first, as a daughter, she couldn’t stand idly by while her father was killed.
Although she often clashed with her father and felt he was too strict with her, he had raised her for twenty-two years, fulfilling his responsibility as a father, always caring and loving her.
Now that her father had been killed, she had to avenge him sohow, no matter who the murderer was.
This thought made her understand Su Xin’s actions, as he was avenging his parents too, and Su Xin hadn’t done anything wrong.
The one at fault was her father.
But even so, she couldn’t ignore Su Xin’s murder of her father.
So things can’t be judged only by right and wrong.
Grudges and enmity sotis go beyond right and wrong.
The grudge between her and Su Xin had beco a deadlock, and she couldn’t resolve it.
Then at this mont, heaven awakened her superpower capable of destroying everything, which seed to imply—
The only way to untie an irreconcilable knot is to destroy it.
