Traditional Cultural Theme Game Season Event Notice
In the spirit of this event, promoting Chinese culture and healthy development of our industry, the Game and Virtual Reality mittee have decided on a ‘Traditional Cultural Themed Games’ event. Designers are invited to use their expertise to design various Chinese themed games, potentially with educational value, to further expand the impact of our culture in the videogame industry.
Target audience.
All video game designers.
How to participate

All Chinese themed games will be automatically entered.
Design requirements
a. No platform limits, mobile, PC, and VR games are all eligible.
b. Rich game content with a healthy theme and emphasis on traditional Chinese culture with educational value.
Prizes
At the end of this event, Game and Virtual Reality mittee members will judge all entries, with one first place, three second places, five third place, and a few notable mentions.
The award-winning designer will be awarded a certificate, and the winning game will be remended by the official app store for a period of one month.

He never knew the relationship between the videogame editor, official app store, and its corresponding departments even though he had used the editor before.

This Game and Virtual Reality mittee, also known as the Game mittee, was a legitimate mittee. It had a lot of power and was affiliated with the Ministry of culture, it basically governed the entire video game industry.

Every country noticed the potential of Virtual Reality when it first appeared. For example, soldiers could train within a VR world, making training safer and cheaper.
Virtual Reality wasn’t just for video games, it also had great value in other industries.

And that was now the Game mittee was bord.
The reason this world put so much emphasis on the videogame industry wasn’t because of artistic value, but because games will improve VR technology, and that would benefit all industries.
As a result, the value of video game designers increased dramatically.
The Game mittee represented other departments in the country. They gathered the best of the best in the country to make the Illusion Game Engine for the videogame designers and developed a rating system to allow video game designers to continually grow. Finally they would end up in VR territory, making VR games.
The official app store also belonged to the Game mittee. The twenty percent cut from the sales from the official app store were funds for the Game mittee.
Chen Mo finally understood.
Why did Lin Mao ask him to pay attention to this matter? Because this event was hosted by the Game mittee, a legitimate department.
If the game goes well and gets promoted by the officials, it wouldn’t be surprising it gets on the news. Then their popularity will sky-rocket!
“I really can’t take a break!”
Chen Mo planned to take two days break, but the work game to him very soon this time around.
The duration of the event was one season or three months. This meant that Chen Mo needed to make a game related to traditional chinese culture in these three months. Moreover, the game must be good enough to meet the requirements of the judges.
May as well go for first place if joining.
“Chinese themed game? Educational too?”

The two of them haven’t met in a while as Chen Mo didn’t have much time as they worked on his game. This time, the two of them were chatting, de-stressing.
“Did you see the notice?” asked Lin Mao.
Chen Mo nodded, “Yeah, I took a look, but I haven’t decided on what game to make.”
“Don’t worry, take your time,” assured Lin Mao. You’re aren’t required to enter the event. It’s alright to sit out if you have your own plans. You’re better at Western Fantasy themes anyways, if it doesn’t feel right to make a Chinese themed game and won’t get a good result, there’s no point wasting that time and effort.”
Chen Mo grabbed a piece of paddywhack, “I actually want to do this. I’ve always been making games that are related to Western Fantasy, I’ve never really made a Chinese themed game.”
“It’s great that you want to do it, but even better if you place it somewhere. The promotional spaces aren’t too important, the key is that you reveal yourself in front of the Game mittee members.”
Chen Mo was shocked, “Huh? That’s most important?”
“Of course. They govern the entire gaming industry. Who knows what happens when you get on their bad side, I wouldn’t want to find out. If you manage to grab their attention, it would probably do wonders to your career.”
Chen Mon nodded, “That makes sense. Then I’ll need to prepare well and aim for first place.”
Lin Mao waved his hand, “Forget about first place, second or third place is already good enough.”
“Why?” questioned Chen Mo.
“Don’t get me wrong, I’m not questioning your abilities. The biggest obstacle is time. The event lasts for three months, that means you need to make the game within three months.” explained Lin Mao.
Chen Mo nodded, “Yeah, the others have three months too right?”
Lin Mao shook his head, “Of course not! Big panies like Emperor Dynasty Entertainment and Zen Entertainment have insiders. They knew about this a few months ago. They’ve had a few months worth of development ahead of you, you don’t stand a chance.”
Chen Mo was shocked, “Huh? They can do that?”
“Why can’t they. It’s not really a secret for the members of the Game mittee. As long as you know someone, it wouldn’t be difficult to catch wind of that. Video Game designers like us would only find out after the notice is released.”
“Geez, how is that fair?” cried Chen Mo.
“There’s nothing you could do, as it’s more or less the hidden rule of the industry. Everybody knows if they can get to Emperor Dynasty or Zen’s level, we can do that too. But now? You’ll have to look past that.”
