Lara:
I did not know what happened the mont I pushed her. She suddenly fell but got saved.
She was dramatic, gentle, and acted like a dainty little princess.
That was what she always did. She always behaved so miserable that others felt bad for her.
And then Kash’s anger landed on . I knew I could question him about why he was so upset, since she was only his ex, but I did not want to focus on that.
I knew he still had so emotions left for her, probably because of the children.
Otherwise, there was no comparison between Iris and . I was royalty. She was a rogue.
I wondered when Kash would realize it and reject her once and for all.
For now, I decided to stay calm and apologize to her. But even after I apologized, she acted rude.
I did not do it for her anyway. I only wanted to show Kash that I was willing to apologize for his sake. And it worked. He seed satisfied.
However, there was sothing else. I noticed him act differently.
It seed like sothing had happened when I was not with them, and I hoped it was sothing bad.
His mother told he had taken the kids to et them, which ant he had stopped listening to Iris and showed authority over her.
Maybe that was why she was so bitter today. She wanted him to do things her way, and this ti he did not.
After the party was over, we returned to the hotel.
I had expected Iris to stay away, but she arrived, as annoying as ever.
I went straight to my room, the private suite I booked for myself and Kash.
I told him I wanted to drink with him and discuss the wedding ceremony.
At this point, it seed like only we talked about the marriage. He would nod and tell us he would give his answer.
For now, I had planned to go with the wedding instead of the engagent.
However, I knew how to solidify it.
He dragged the topic of rejecting Iris, probably because of the children.
Iris’s mother was right. A man treats his children’s mother differently. Even if he does not want her, she holds a special place.
Especially n like Kash, who have so much power and need a powerful heir.
I went into the room, opened my zipper, and placed the engagent and wedding ceremony preparation papers on the table.
I spread the catalogs around to make it clear why I brought him here.
But that was not the truth. The truth was in the bottle of wine I was holding in my hand.
For once, Iris’s mother was extrely right. People make drunken mistakes.
And I added my own special magic to the bottle. I smirked at the thought of what would happen after tonight.
In simple words, I added special drugs, made from certain herbs, sothing that would not be noticed if the person had already been drinking.
But if it was their first drink, they would notice.
With Kash, he had been drinking a lot today. He was mixed with anxiousness, anger, and different kinds of feelings.
This drug was going to work on him very well. As for , I was calm.
Even though I was drinking, the drug would not affect that much.
But he did not need to know that. In his mind, we both drank.
After a while, I went out and asked him to co help with the zipper.
Seeing him sit with her had already spoiled my mood, and I hoped she would leave once he ca into the room with .
I noticed the way she watched him, almost like she was challenging him, because she clearly wanted him.
I could tell she was jealous of .
As he got up to walk toward , she placed her glass down and stood to leave.
Thank goodness. The plan would go well if she was not around.
I did not know if she left or not, but I walked inside the room with Kash behind .
The minute I stepped in, I turned around and saw him loosening his tie.
His eyes looked tired from the whole day’s events. Sothing had changed in him over the last few days.
He closed the door behind him and rubbed the back of his neck tiredly.
"You want to talk here?" he asked, sounding worn out. "I am guessing the zipper was just an excuse to pull away from Iris."
I was not shocked. I knew him. He was intelligent.
"Yeah," I replied in a soft tone.
He looked around the room and let out an exhausted sigh.
"More drinks?" he remarked.
"Yeah, just a little," I replied. "You did not drink with , so I thought maybe we should celebrate too."
I held a small smile as I poured two glasses, making sure his glass had the right amount. I handed it to him with the sa smile.
He took it without thinking and sat down on the edge of the couch.
I settled beside him, crossing my legs in a calm manner.
He took the first sip, and I watched his throat move as he swallowed.
I felt a brief fear. What if he noticed sothing?
But he had enough drinks in him, along with anxiousness, anger, and all sorts of emotions.
I was right. He did not react. Good.
"We need to finalize the date," I reminded him, placing the catalog gently on his knee.
He stared at the papers but did not touch them. Instead, he leaned back.
"I told you I would give you my answer. Why is there such a rush to get married?" he murmured.
"Because you have been saying that for weeks. Our marriage has beco a joke. First we talked about getting engaged, now it is marriage. Everything is making anxious," I admitted.
Even though I tried to sound stable, my emotions slipped out. Maybe that was why he grabbed the glass and took another sip.
"Your father is too controlling, Lara. He is asking a lot from ," he comnted and I pulled my eyebrows together.
"What do you an?" I asked.
"Did he not tell you the terms he set for our marriage?"
As soon as he said that, my spine stiffened. I had no idea about any of this.
