"Kash! I got a text from the warrior. Iris and her mother have settled in their office," Walkin inford as we stood outside her ho.
I had been waiting for this mont. Now that the path was clear, I rang the doorbell.
I had a feeling I was finally going to et the man she had run away with, and I was prepared for it.
However, sothing had changed. I never thought she would have children. And I definitely never imagined I’d feel a connection with them too.
Ever since I left her ho, I’d been wandering through the woods. I didn’t even return to my own house. I switched off my phone and told Walkin to handle anyone who tried to contact and co up with an excuse. I suffered through the night, waiting for the right mont to take the babies and see for myself if my assumption was right. And if it was, I’d lose my mind.
The door opened, revealing a young woman frowning at us.
"The owners of the house aren’t ho. You can co back later," she said, not even bowing to show respect.
However, Walkin already knew what to do. He walked past and stord inside, shoving her aside.
"Hey, what the fuck is going on? You can’t just barge into soone’s ho like that!" she yelled, trying to stop him.
It was strange that she didn’t recognize or Walkin. Rogues didn’t have TVs, sure, but was she even from this world? Had she never heard of or seen my face on billboards?
I stord inside the house too, but I didn’t go past the driveway. I stood there, hands on my waist, coat tucked behind .
"What are you doing? Who are you?" the girl kept shouting, still trying to stop Walkin, but he rushed ahead.
Then he ca out carrying two children.
"What are you doing with the babies? Put them down!" she scread, panicking.
It didn’t matter. We weren’t afraid of her, and we weren’t going to answer her either.
"Look up on the internet. Type, Alpha King Kash," I muttered to her without looking her way.
After Walkin grabbed the babies, he headed straight for the door, and I followed. The girl didn’t dare co after us. She just cried and begged us not to do it. I assud she was the nanny. So where the hell was her boyfriend?
I walked outside and got into the car. Walkin laid the children in the back seat. They seed to be asleep, and I guessed that was for the best.
Once the car started and we were far from the house, Walkin finally stopped driving so I could feel it.
I didn’t want to believe I’d stolen soone else’s babies. I stepped out and opened the back door. The mont I saw them, I felt like an idiot for even doubting myself. I knew what I felt. The boy looked exactly like .
Even Walkin, standing beside , cleared his throat awkwardly.
"Are you sure you even need to check?" he muttered.
Still, I reached out, placing my hand on the boy’s forehead, focusing on the connection I sensed. Then I pulled back, resting one hand on my forehead and the other on my waist, pacing anxiously.
"What is it?" Walkin asked. I stopped and turned toward him.
"She fucking stole my babies from ." That was all Walkin needed to hear. The connection I felt was real. These were my children, the ones she took from . And I’d missed four years of their lives. Four years of their childhood.
Walkin gasped, shaking his head in disbelief.
"She didn’t just leave , Walkin—she took my babies to live with that random man. Do you see the betrayal I went through?" I asked, pointing at my chest.
"I understand what she did was wrong, but what now? Are you just going to steal the babies from her like that?" As soon as he said that, I turned to face him again, confidence burning in my eyes.
"Didn’t she steal them from for four years?" I hissed, angry that he even had to ask.
"Gosh, she didn’t steal the babies. They were in her womb. She couldn’t leave her womb behind, could she? And besides, it’s not about her. I’m saying this for you. Do you want your children to see you as so bad guy who took them from their mother?"
Walkin kept talking nonsense, trying to make change my mind, but I knew what I was doing. My decision was right.
"They won’t hate once they know I’m their father. Why would they hate ? Don’t kids want their fathers?" I snapped, then went and sat in the car. I wasn’t going to talk to him or anyone about it. I didn’t need to explain myself to them. These were my children, and they were staying with from now on.
As soon as Walkin got in, I started the engine, and before long, we were back at the mansion, bringing my babies to their ho for the first ti.
I carried them on my shoulders, both still asleep, they slled so good like comfort and fatherhood. I felt incredible as their heads rested against my shoulders. To think she had deprived of this feeling for so long. She was the definition of evil, hidden behind a beautiful, innocent face.
As soon as I stepped inside the mansion, I told the maids to prepare rooms for the babies. That’s when my mother ca out of her room.
"Kash, where have you been?" My mother froze, and I knew why. She was staring at my babies.
"Whose children are these?" she asked, covering her mouth in shock.
"Oh, these? They’re your grandchildren. Welco my babies ho, the sa babies your fucking daughter-in-law stole and ran away with."
That was all I said before storming away. I heard my mother gasp and drop onto the couch. Everyone was going to feel this shock, I knew that. But the biggest one was going to hit Iris.
I laid my babies down in my own bed, covered them with a blanket, and then noticed my phone vibrating. It was a new number. I knew exactly who was losing her mind, so I ignored it. I wanted her to burn with pain, to crawl back to the mansion she’d run from, and beg for the babies she’d stolen from .
And still, I wouldn’t show her rcy.
