Iris:
"Well, I did not co here to talk about my marriage with you," I responded a little harshly, because he did not have to be nasty and say all that to .
So things are ant to stay in the heart, but these alphas did not know that. My mother too.
These people thought that hurting soone else’s feelings was their birthright.
"Then what are you here to talk about?" Kash asked . His expression was very harsh.
"You were the one who told that you wanted to work on getting the Blue River water, or should I say that you have moved on from that incentive as well," I remarked.
Since he was being harsh with , I was too. After what my mother did, sothing had snapped inside .
For the first few hours, and even two days, I was timid and scared, but now that she had used all her threats on , I felt like I was becoming bolder and angrier, annoyed at everyone.
"You do not need to speak so harshly with . You know I care for my son," he snapped, causing to clench my jaw.
"I did go there last night. When you were busy playing boyfriend-girlfriend with your man, I was the one who was working hard to get a cure for my son. So do not ever taunt again," he pointed his finger at and hissed, causing to gulp and look away.
I did not want another person to be on my back.
"Anyway, as for the Blue River water, I went there," he continued, shifting the topic, and his tone started to return to normal.
"What did you find out?" I asked him.
"That monster," I paused as I watched him shrug his shoulders, "that monster is living in that water. She is not that dangerous, to be honest. I believe I can defeat her as long as I have another person backing up, because when I am fighting her, I will need another person to get the water."
As he explained, I nodded, ready to fight this monster.
"Then, when can we go?" As soon as I asked, I watched him frown at .
"Do you want to co?" he questioned, leaning his body a little to reach my level.
"Of course. Colin is my son too, and I want to be there to fight for my son, for the cure for my son," I replied confidently, expecting him not to be so combative or arguntative over a mother wanting to do sothing for her son.
But his reaction and his expression told that was not what he was thinking.
"No, I an look at yourself. Do you seriously think you will go there and it will be of any benefit to or to your son?" Once again, he chose the harsh route, leaving my mouth hanging open.
"You do not need to be—" I muttered,
Before I could scold him or correct him, he added, "I am just being rational. You are the emotional one here," he comnted.
Then he fixed his coat and continued, "Do you not think it will be better if I take soone with who is able to fight the monster instead of soone I will need to take care of? Because let us be honest at this point, you are just going to be a burden."
Kash spoke harshly. There was no regret or guilt on his face for treating in this way.
I began to wonder if it all started after he saw requesting Luca not to leave . He said he had moved on, but his expression told it was a lie.
"Well," I tried to speak up, but the words got caught in my throat.
"Well what? Is that not the truth? Rember when we were going to the cave? All that ti, our attention was on you. We were taking care of you like you were a child." As Kash continued, I showed him my palm to silence him.
That would be enough insult for the day.
As soon as I said that, I watched him step away because he realized how big of a scum he had beco.
"So, who do you intend to take?" I asked him. But before he could speak, I decided to get back at him.
"How about you take Luca with you?" The minute I said that, his expression soured.
"Why would I take a stranger to find a cure for my son?" he questioned, hands on his waist.
"Why not? If you rember the cave task, it was Luca who brought the cure." The minute I said those words, I watched the sa look mirror on his face that had been on mine previously.
But now he looked hurt because his feelings were getting hurt.
"And let us just say that our team will not work together. I do not trust your man, so I would rather take soone with who I trust." Kash used a harsher tone, causing my eyes to narrow at him as I waited for him to tell who he thought was the best choice.
He took my silence seriously, realizing I was asking him to tell his decision.
"Lara." The minute he said it, I started to shake my head.
"No, not that woman." As I said that, his expression turned harsher. Suddenly he was defensive of her, and then he wanted to believe he was not angry because of last night.
"First of all, she has a na. Second, I do well when I am tead up with her," he mumbled, giving his head small shakes and subtle nods when speaking of her.
"Oh yeah, I rember how your team worked last ti. The reason you were unable to fetch the herbs was because your favorite team mber had left," I said, taunting him.
I lifted my chin slightly while he stiffened his shoulders.
"Lara—" He narrowed his eyes. "Sorry, I ant Iris." As he corrected the na, he crossed his arms, and my jaw clenched.
"I’m taking her with ," he confessed, making watch his face in disbelief.
