"Of course I will go," I said, smiling at Lady Vivian.
I was already dressed and waiting. I had barely finished speaking when Lady Vivian sent a text to Kash to let him know I will be joining him.
Of course, Iris did not know any of this yet. She probably believed she had Kash under her control, which was why she had stopped trying.
She did whatever pleased her, and those actions were hurting him. But before she could realize her mistakes, I knew it would already be too late.
"Go and spend ti with your husband. You are his rightful wife," Lady Vivian comnted as I stepped out and sat in the car.

Throughout the drive, I kept wondering how Iris could be so foolish. Zoe had not done enough for her to risk her entire relationship over it.

My chest swelled with happiness. I could not stop smiling. Throughout the gathering, I kept nodding politely.
I tried to be informative, but it was difficult. I knew nothing about scents beyond enjoying wearing them. Still, I understood that what Kash needed at that mont was support.

It felt unreal. Kash had truly made happy today.
I laughed when the won gathered around and said our baby would be beautiful. They teased that after this, Kash would love even more.
I wanted that to be true. And it would be.
As the guests drifted back to their conversations, Kash turned toward .
"Thank you for coming," he whispered, offering a soft but faintly sad smile.
He looked hurt, and I knew why.
"You can call anyti, and I’ll be there, Kash. You know that," I said, reaching for his hand.
I almost stopped, afraid he would pull away.
But he held my hand instead and gave it a gentle pat, as if assuring that my touch was welco.
"I know I was not your first choice today," I uttered, carefully bringing up Iris because soon there would be a surprise for both of them.
I did not want to hurt Kash, but I had no other choice. Or maybe I did, and I simply refused to take it.
"It’s not sothing I haven’t told you," he replied quickly, reminding that he had never tried to hide the fact that he called only after Iris refused.
"I’m not saying you did anything wrong. I’m just saying that even if I am your second choice, I will always wait," I mumbled.
He turned to , his eyes filled with disbelief.
"How do you not hate ? For trying to reject you. For marrying you only because I wanted sothing. For playing with you because I needed a cure for Iris," he admitted, not hiding his intention of wanting the pearl for her.
Iris had been right back then. She was probably the one who asked him to let stay. And I knew why she did it.
She must have thought keeping close would push out of his life forever. But I was going to do that to her instead.
"I can never hate you, Kash. There is no explanation. No reason. That is simply the truth. I can never hate you," I said in a soft, gentle voice.
"Um, excuse ," one of the guests interrupted.
Both Kash and I turned toward her.
"I don’t an to be nosy, but wasn’t your other Luna Queen supposed to attend? The brand belongs to both of you, and you were working on it together," the woman asked.
My mood began to sour.
Kash and I exchanged a brief look. What were we supposed to say? That Iris did not want to co because he had not scheduled ti with her properly?
Her reasoning had sounded childish. She claid it was last minute and that she was not prepared. I had not been prepared either. Kash had not forced to give input on anything I did not wish to.
"Well, she had sothing important to do," Kash answered.

Iris walked in with Markus, branded jewelry bags in their hands. They were giggling as they stepped inside.
Every eye in the room shifted toward them. I leaned back in my seat.
