Iris:
He jumped onto the bed and tossed the blanket aside as he rushed toward .
I ran to the other side of the bed, and he chased after .
I scrambled across the bed toward the door, but he grabbed my leg, making fall back onto the mattress.
Then he started crawling on top of .
"Stop! What the fuck are you doing?" he complained as I tried to go through his phone to find her number.
I had thought they would be communicating constantly, but I guessed he was clever, always clearing the conversations.
Or maybe, because we fought so much, her na had passed before my eyes until I finally found her number.
I tapped it once to call, but before the call could connect, he snatched the phone from my hands and cut the call.
He then locked the phone again and threw it across the couch, far away. The struggle didn’t stop.
I had imagined he would get off , but instead he held both my wrists and pinned them to my sides, forcing to stare at his face with wide eyes.
"What are you doing? Get off !" I struggled under him, trying not to et his gaze while he remained frozen on top of .
"Since when did you beco so mischievous?" he asked playfully rather than angrily about calling her.
"You don’t need to know ," I replied, turning my face to the other side.
I knew he was watching , but why he wasn’t getting off remained a mystery.
"Why did you leave?" he asked suddenly. I frowned, looking at him.
"Was it that easy to move on from ?" he continued, surprising .
"One would think after so many years you would have pondered what you did wrong." I clicked my tongue in disappointnt.
"Kash, I guess I was right when I left you, because I realized you would never understand my feelings," I said softly, noticing how his grip around my wrists began to loosen.
"If only you had stayed, you would have realized I never ant to leave you." he paused.
"For Lara," he replied, still sounding so ignorant of my feelings.
"It doesn’t matter whether you had kicked out or not. Even if you had asked to stay in the main bedroom and kept her in the guest room, it would have ant nothing." I paused, swallowing the pain from that ti. "You left the day you brought her back into your life."
I finished watching him close his eyes, and his hold on tightened again.
He brought his face closer and then uttered, "The truth is..." That was when soone’s arrival silenced us both.
My head snapped back, and my eyes moved to the door, where a man stood. Kash lifted his head from to look in the sa direction.
"Honey, what is going on here?" The man standing before was none other than my supposed boyfriend, Luca.
After Luca arrived, I awkwardly started to wriggle under Kash, and he got off .
He first rose onto his knees on the bed, and then I crawled away from him.
Luca reached the bed and held my arm to help get off.
Once I did, I quickly freed my arm and stepped back, looking between Kash and Luca.
"What is going on here?" Luca asked, sounding offended.
"I fell with Kash landing on top of by accident," I considered making up an excuse, even though I knew the truth, I didn’t need to lie to him.
But a lie was a lie, and my mother had planned to place Luca in my life, so I had to continue the story or my son would suffer.
Kash paused for a mont before getting off the bed.
He walked aggressively around it, grabbed his coat and phone.
Kash paused between Luca and for only a few seconds.
In that brief mont, he turned to and gave a look.
There was so much sadness in his eyes that, for a mont, I couldn’t et his gaze.
I felt as if I were truly responsible for his heartbreak, even though I knew that wasn’t the truth, that he had no reason to question my loyalty or why a man was standing in my bedroom.
But the way he stared at froze for a mont.
"Oh, you’re Alpha King Kash, right?" Luca asked, hands in his pockets, but Kash didn’t respond and stord out of the room.
Luca comically stretched his neck to look after Kash and yelled,
"What the heck was that, Iris? Why is it that I’m coming back ho and finding you with your ex?" He imdiately drew his neck back and smirked at , while I gave him a very stern look.
After a few seconds of silence, I rushed out to check if Kash had left, and sure enough, he was gone.
Once I locked the main gate, I turned and saw my mother coming out of her room, folding her arms across her chest and leaning against the doorfra.
"It’s ti he has to co. There weren’t enough barriers between you two," my mother said loudly, causing to frown.
"The fact that Lara is in his life is enough of a barrier. Do you seriously think I will ever fall for him again?" I hissed at my mother as Luca strolled down the hallway, the small hallway with my and my children’s rooms on the right, past the living room.
He ca out, hands in his brown pants pockets, pouting at my mother.
"I found them in the bed together," he comnted, causing my jaw to drop.
"That is a lie. I an, sure, we were in the bed, but it wasn’t like that," I tried to explain, since my mother did not look happy with what she was hearing.
"Well, whatever it is, save it. Now Luca is here, and Luca, you have to make sure she does not do anything like that again," my mother told him, then shot a hasty glance before strolling back into her room.
Now it was just and Luca.
The thought that my mother had given him authority over my life was enough to make angry.
